Many families bring in the New Year with age old traditions. How does your family, or just yourself, celebrate New Year's Eve and/or Day? Do you have any special traditions?

I know that my family has never been one to go along with some of the New Years superstitions (example: if the first person to walk into your house on New Year's Day is a tall, dark-haired man who brings with him some select items, you will have good fortune). We tend to gather up some aunts and uncles we have not seen in awhile, invite the neighbors over, and just chat and eat sauerkraut until the ball drops in Times Square.

Now, what about you?

My dad, sister, and I stay up to midnight, usually barely keeping awake while watching a movie, then glance at the clock and go, "Oh, it's 12:30 am. Happy New Year. Let's not stay up next year, it's not that exciting." And then we do it again next year. :D

We don't do New Year's at my house. How's that for a tradition?

New Year is pretty much sucky. Somehow, the year always ends with parents and relatives fighting and therefore no New Year get together.
And obviously, no party/meet with friends for the night 'cuz that's the way my 'rents are. >.<
