What's Your Favourite Christmas Carol?

Christmas is just around the corner! My mum has been playing Christmas songs for maybe a week now, too.

What's your favourite song to set you in the Christmas mood? Do you like the slow wistful ones or the fast cheerful ones?

My top ones are (in no particular order):

- Wonderful Christmas Time
- Mary's Boy Child (we even did a dance choreography to this with my friend, haha!)
- God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
- The 12 Days of Christmas
- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
- Last Christmas
- Deck The Halls
- the one they sing in Home Alone, whatever it's called... Christmas Tree?
- also some Finnish ones

Edit: I thought carols and songs are the same thing. xD Apparently not? Anyway, favourite carol/song!

I'm more of a Christmas song person than a carol person, so:

-Fairytale of New York
-Christmas is All Around (from the film Love Actually.)
-Wonderful Christmas Time
-Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
-12 Days of Christmas
-Santa Claus is Coming to Town

I really like O Holy Night, and Last Christmas is good as well. Oh, and Christmas Tree - Home Alone is the best Christmas movie ever!

Edit: Oh oh oh! And that song about bells as sung by Mr. Mackey in South Park! "Ding dong, ding dong... mkay!"

Yay Carols!

Well, I don't know that many, just what we used to sing in my school. Ah, I miss school during Christmas. We always had carol competition, tree decorations and awesome fun.

- Silent Night - In German.
- 12 Days of Christmas
- Santa Claus is coming to town
- Mama cita (I think that's how it's spelt. We sang it in class 4. We won that year! xD!)
- Mary's Boy Child.

My favorite is The first Noel. I also like God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Good King Wenceslas, Carol of the Bells, Up on the Housetop, Angels We Have Heard On High, Jolly Old Saint Nicholas, Deck The Halls, Christmas Cookies, O Come, All Ye Faithful, and Hark the Herald Angels Sing.

P.S. One thing I hate with a passion is when singers take a Christmas Carol and try to make it a new age Christmas song. It is so annoying and none of them sound good. They aren't meant to be sung like that.
