Hello everyone.

I'm new to this site and just thought I'd give an introduction. I came accross YWS as a result of a google search, and thought it would be nice to receive some input about some of the stuff I've written.
While I don't claim to be a grand writer, I write to express myself and what I'm feeling at a given time. I'm 22 years old and have been writing since 2004. Most of what I write would probably be described as lyrical poetry. In fact what I've written I've always intended to be looked at as lyrics to a song (although I've never written music). I think I have a total of around 25 pieces now.
I'm a Christian, and much of what I write has definitively Christian characteristics. Some would even be considered "worship" poetry.
I'm currently working on a book (fantasy novel or novella depending on what the result is when I am finished) and may post chapters for critique once I've polished it up a bit.
I guess that's it.

You write lyrical poetry and have finished twenty-five pieces? Awesomesauce! I lack the capability to write poetry. Correction. Good poetry! What sort of fantasy do you write? Epic, urban, etc?

Well, I never claimed that all 25 of the pieces I've written are good. In fact, some of the ones I've written I re-read and absolutely detest the way they came out, but don't really have the drive to rewrite them. At the same time I don't have the heart to just delete them. I've only rewritten one or two that I had a clear understanding of what I wanted to say, but needed a few years to acquire the creativity/vocabulary/inspiration to make them say what I intended for them to say all along. In all honesty, I only have 8, maybe 9 poems that I really like, another 1 or 2 that I'm ok with, and the others are, in a sense, almost embarrassing.
The novel/novella that I'm attempting to write would be considered epic fantasy. So far I have finished preliminary drafts of the prologue, first, and second chapters, and have written roughly 2/5 to 1/2 of the third chapter. The total length comes out to just under 13,000 words so far, but I'm hoping to get inspiration to add more detail and description when I go back through everything.
