Hello there, Persephoneia! California, eh? I used to live in the San Jose area, but unfortunately, I moved away four years ago.California is quite the beautiful place, especially for photography purposes, isn't it? I hope you are enjoying your vacation! This holiday I am just sitting at home, sadly enough. Anyways, enough rambling - on the review.
Alright! The first photo is quite lovely, actually. I enjoy that the focus is not on the flower itself, but more so on the droplets of water on the purple petals ('tis quite a pretty flower, by the way!). The focus being where it is gives the photo a more unique look. The colors in this picture are wonderful, without being too vivid and giving the look of being overprocessed. However, I do have one teensy, tiny nitpick. There is a lot of grain in the photo, which is a bit distracting to the eye. Other than that, I truly love this photo; great work.
The second photo is not as appeasing to the eye, at least in my mind. The lovely color of the wet - er, is that a log? - log behind the flower is actually very rich-looking and almost 'pretty.' However, the flower is the focus, and as pretty as it is, I find that the angle you took this photo is a bit off. I think just seeing that one side of the flower, all flat-looking, is a bit boring. Show us the center of the flower. Next time, do not be afraid to explore other angles. Also - the flower looks almost posed here. As if you were very particular and sat it in that very spot just to snap the photography. Be careful of photos that looked too posed, and not as natural.
The third picture was decent; I was not quite sure what exact type of plant it was (I have never been one for gardening and the like) so, naturally, it was a bit odd-looking and 'out there' to me. However, the tones of this photo are nice. I do find that there is no particular focus on the image, almost - my eyes roamed everywhere and obviously the focal point is so large and centered that, well, it did not hold my attention. Remember the rule of thirds.
The fourth photo is a bit odd-looking. As beautiful and wonderfully vibrant the flower is, where, I might ask, is the stem? I think when focusing on the flower you lost the focus of the stem, therefore the stem was lost in all that green. This makes it look as if the flower is just floating in mid-air, and that's utterly distracting to the viewer.
Overall, however, I think your photography has greatly improved since the day I first reviewed it. You are doing a much better job with focusing, angles, and the like. If you need any further assitance, have any questions, comments, etcetera, feel free to message me! Have a fun time in California.

Picture 1: By far my favorite. It seems like soemthing you would use for a desktop background. I love the way the water droplets cling to the petals and the way it's blurred just seems so perfect. Blurry pictures usually anny me but it's something about this one... I don't know. I also love the little touch of Bokeh.
Picture 2: Something about this is a bit depressing. I hope that is the right word. The colors of the flower against the dull background is really great. Did you set it up to be that way? If so, that's really nice. If not, nature really does have a good eye. There is one petal, however, that looks shriveled and a bit nasty, like goo or something, but other than that I really like this.
Picture 3: What type of plant is this? It must have been really beautiful in real life. I love how much detail is shown in this picture, honestly. I love the shade of green and the faded off-white thing to the side really balances everything out. If there was any grass or green in the background the color would be too much. I really like this photo too.
Picture 4: This picture, though not bad, really is not up to standards with the others. It seems as if you took a blurry background and just stuck the flower in the middle of it all. Though the flower is focused on really well, the stem is gone and it looks really awkward.
All in all, these photos were really impressive. What type of camera do you use?
Coral Coral Coral, I still can't believe your eye for amazing photos and your timing.
1.) I love how it focuses most on the petal the bends slightly inwards and that is most closest to the camera and how you can see the little water droplets that seem to be holding on for their life. The petals remind me of two hands put together like they are ready to catch something like a baseball.
2.) My favorite. The purple and yellow coloring are magnificent, especially with the water droplets that make this photo what it is.
3.) I like this photo but, it seems like a pop of color is need behind the plant, maybe a blue or orange. Also the water drops are less defined but, something in this photo keeps your eyes wondering around.
4.)Is this the same flower from the second photo? I think I like this angle of the flower more because you can see (almost) the whole thing. Great job on focusing the flower and making the background out of focus.
Once again, I love your photos that you take and I still want your camera.
