I have been in love with books ever since I could read. Right from Enid Blyton's 'Noddy' series to the Classics, Harry Potter to the Lord Of The Rings, Agatha Christie to Sherlock Holmes and tomes of random books here and there - I'm always hungry for good books.
Graduate studies, deadlines and work-stress have resulted in a decline in my reading habit in the past few years (mainly because it's not been possible to devote time from all the maddening science work!) Even so, I do try and pick up a good book once in a while and squeeze out some time from schedules to finish it. I am happiest when I'm alone in my room, curled up on my bed with a great book, lost in the author's words and my imagination for company.
Non-fiction books aren't really my cup of tea, not yet at least. I have enough Science and academia to deal with in real life; when I read a book I look forward to an escape from the mundane, into a different realm altogether.
As someone whose love for books has resulted in sporadic outbursts of poetry and story-writing, I've decided to get serious about my passion for writing (and reading, too). I mostly enjoy writing fiction, and the dream is to be able to churn out a novel some day. Currently, I feel like a raw, crude beginner and would love to be able to receive feedback on my writing and learn from everyone's experiences. In terms of what I write, I prefer not be limited by genre and love to dabble in fantasy, mystery, humour, real-life drama, and other genres too.
I am armed with an empty notebook, a pen, my imagination and tonnes of solitary time
Cheers,
Tejas
