You know,
I gazed at the clouds
and just thought-
A cloud never look at another,
and says “Your too fat!”
And then drifts away.
No, the clouds all float together
moving with the wind.
If they separate, it is simply by chance.
And the wind, strong and subtle,
has not once refused to push along a cloud
because she was too big, or too small.
And one tree never looks at her neighbor
and crudely says “Your too thin!”
And turns away.
No, the trees, big and small,
all live intertwined
in complete, perfect harmony.
Oh, and the waves that splash and crash
wouldn’t dare to look at the sand and say
“I won’t touch you, your to colors not right!”
And the sand doesn’t pull away
say to the wave “Don’t you dare crash on me!
You’ll mess up my beach!”
No, the sand finds great joy,
in watching the happy people
all playing in the surf.
Well, nature sure seems to have it right.
So, why not us?? We're quite smart,
why can’t we figure it out?
