Buncha Random Photos

So, recently, I've been taking a whole lot of pictures, some of which I actually like.


1. Nice Cupp'a Snow:





2. Ahh, the teenage eyes pictures. It was bound to happen.


3. Spirallees! I'm still not sure how I feel about this one.




4. This one is really plain, I know... but it was impossible for me to get any other bubble shots. This was taken out my window, bubble wand in hand and everything.




And then I'll post more tomorrow, that all share a common theme.

I like the first one. The expression on the guys face is pretty nice, but my only criticism is that at first I thought the drink was just a hot drink with a frothy top and not... snow? I think? D;
The second ones nice and unique. I like the angle of it, but I'm not sure I like the yellowy tones in it. I'd love to see the original though
I think the third one is my favourite out of the four. I like the nice selective focusing and how it kinda has a subtle wintery feel to it.
The fourth one is pretty simple, but nice all the same. I like how the bubble isn't bang in the middle

not a very helpful review, but there wasn't anything wrong with any of them

1) You've done something here that I cannot do to save my life: Take a great photo of people. For this, I commend you! Yay! Really, though - This is a great character shot. He seems like a really friendly guy. This is a really nice, happy picture. And putting snow in a cup? I love it. Very original, and the placement in the photo couldn't be much better. No real critique for this.

2) Ah... The eye picture. You've executed this picture well, but the concept is very cliche. But I think you already know that, so I won't really talk about it much more. One thing I do like, though? Her eye makeup fell down a little, and you can see little flakes of the stuff on her cheek. That's a really nice touch, and I like that.

3) .... This is awesome. I loves it! This is such an interesting picture! You've got a great focus, great angle, and I can only guess at what this is... A dead twig, perhaps? Hmm... Anyway, it is a very interesting shot, so I am a very happy person.

4) Hm. Not sure how I feel about this one. On the one hand, I like the concept, although I have seen bubble shots before. On the other hand, I feel that taking a bubble shot would be better suited to a more diverse background. Something with bright colors and lots of lines that would frame the bubble better. As it is, the bubble blends in a little too much to the sky.

Hi there! Here I am, as requested. ^.^ I don't do much photography reviewage generally, but I'll do my best. :)

Picture #1: Very nice! I love his expression. The close framing and the fact that his eyes are looking so directly into the camera really make his emotion contagious. It feels like he's right there in front of me, smiling at me -- and I want to smile back! An excellent portrait. As for the cup of snow, though, I'll have to echo snailsareslimy: I couldn't tell it was snow! Firstly, his expression was so enticing that I only wanted to look at his face. But then when I saw the cup I was reminded of a Starbucks ad and I assumed it was just some hot drink. Then when I saw the title, I had to go back and realize "oh yeah! He's holding a cup of snow..." So if you don't want people to have this reaction, I would suggest widening the frame a little bit to include more of the cup so that the emphasis of the composition is a bit more on the cup and a bit less on the guy.

Picture #2: Yes, it's been done before, but you know that. The one thing I can say about it is that I'm not sure if the messed up mascara is intentional or not. It looks like it might just be a mistake. Is it a mistake, or did you want there to be makeup on her cheek? If you wanted it, I suggest emphasizing it a little more -- maybe make more mascara on her cheek? I'm also slightly bothered by the fact that the eye is almost cut off by the vignette at the top of the frame...

Picture #3: I like this one a lot! I think it's my favorite. Really, I can't say anything negative about it. I love the way the plant sweeps into focus. The muted colors are really soothing and wintry. Melikey.

Picture #4: This one I'm not crazy about. It's not bad, but (and I'm sorry if this sounds harsh) I just don't feel like there's anything special about it. The composition is a little strange, with everything in the bottom of the frame and the top and middle of the frame blank. Maybe if the skyline was a little more diagonal? Or maybe I'd like some brighter colors in it... I don't know -- something to liven it up a bit, you know?

Well I hope that was somewhat helpful! Like I say, I don't usually review photography, but it's always good to expand ones' reviewing horizons. ^.^ I'm not sure if you can even incorporate anything I've said, but hopefully it's somewhat helpful in the future.

Very nice pictures!

1) I love the clarity, but at first I thought he was holding up some weird type of ice cream or something...

2) I just love eye close-ups, but the tint would not have really been my first choice. But that is an opinion. Great picture!

3) I think I like this one the best: from blurry to sharp. I love the colors, as brown is one of my favorites, and I like the swirls. Which plant is that?

4) I think this one is adorable: a lone bubble. The background fits really well. Me second-favorite! And great multi-tasking!

Oh Em Gee the first one rocks. Love the expression. And the eye! very unique. Very cool. Then, we have the bubble. I like it, but as you said, it is a bit plain. And I do like the swirls. All together, really nice pictures. Great job with them. I could never do what you do. Me+camera=catastrophe.

The expression on the guy's face in the first picture is absolutely priceless! It put a smile on my face. The eye picture has to be one of my favorite ones. It's like there's more meaning to it than there is. Like the quote, "There's more to me than meets the eye." The bubble one is cute too. It's like seeing the world in a new light or in a different way. Overall, I do like the pictures. In the first picture, I would have liked to see more of the cup of snow.
