As the day you almost drew Captain Jack Sparrow!

So, I haven't picked up my pencil in about six months and Flower-Child was holding a contest so I decided it'd be the perfect push I needed to get myself back in the Art game. So, this is the result...I admit, I could've done better but I had one day to finish it plus I was at work and my excuses could go on forever so yeah. Anyway, I know it's not complete and I know the eyes are a little messed up but I decided that since I miraculously won the competition I should post this.

Enjoy?

This is really good, no wonder you won the contest! Congrats, by the way. :D The un-matching eyes are a little odd, but they're not that bad. If anything, the shoulders look slightly small. But forget the nitpicks, this is brilliant! Makes me want to start drawing again myself. ;)

I like it! It's really good! Just felt like saying that!
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

Pink! I'z here to reviews you!

1. His eyes. Not because they're particularly bad, but because they need more definition. In the movies, he had smudgy eyeliner, mostly on the bottom. His eyes could also use to be darker.

2. His nose. Not a huge issue, but if you pay attention, you can see how it's turned forward, like he's looking right at us, but he isn't.

3. His hair. It should be darker, with a more dread-lock-y texture. Right now, it could be mistaken by anyone unfamiliar to Jack Sparrow as normal hair with a bit of disturbance. Dreadlocks have an entirely different look. I'd suggest googling it and studying your finds. Texture is very important to drawing like this (coming from someone who can't draw to save her life xD )

4. This could just be a personal preference, but I think that the entire piece should be darker, more contrasting. Jack Sparrow is all about the contrasts. His light, shiny beads against his black dreadlocks, his light puffy shirt against his dark vest (though he's wearing his jacket, am I right?) and other such things. These don't have to be big contrasts, not black and white, but perhaps everything shaded darker, more prominent. His face structure should also be more shaded, to show his cheekbones and angles. Though, like I said, this could just be a personal opinion.

All in all, this is really good. Much better than anything I could do. Just, keep drawing and keep spewing out things, and you'll just continue to get better and better, even more so than you are now. :)

I am so glad that I inspired you to write again! I love to see your work! I can't believe you did this in one day, it would have taken me forever, and to top it off it is amazing. I love Jack Sparrow.....hehe. Anyway I guess that was just saying that I love it!
My reality comes to a close as I once again realize that you don't love me, and even if I love you with my everything you will never care.

Thank you for the comments and reviews!
Actually UltraViolet, I'm scared of the darkness. lol
When I draw, I'm scared of making things too dark therefore I end up layering and layering, it takes longer but it makes me feel better so yeah. This isn't finished and maybe if I have time, I'll try to finish it and post up a the completed drawing. ^.^

Thanks again, all!

This is beautiful, alot better than I could do. Right now I am working on a recreation of the rainy day in Paris or whatever it's called painting, and you can't even compare the two. I thought that you used the right shading throughout, but agree that the eyes and dreadlocks need a little more umph to them, as well as the slightly too small shoulders. Great job on this, no wonder you won :D

This is so epic, epicness isn't good enough to describe it. :D

I love how you can draw lips... I fail at that. Epically fail. I epically fail at drawing everything else, but hey, lips are extra bad for me to draw. Seriously, I bow down to you thanks to those lips.

I know this makes me sound like one of those people who just repeat what someone else has said because they can't come up with anything themselves, (Very long start of a sentence) but I have to agree with ultra on the contrast thingy. I'd like to see you shading this a little darker. I know what you mean when you say that you're worried about making it too dark, but try not to worry about that. Just darken it gradually - you know, keep darkening it every time you edit it - until you think you've got it just right.

Other than that, I applaud you, oh ginger one. Yes, you are now officially ginger. I really hope you continue drawing now, otherwise, I'll personally come to your house with a pointy knife, yodel while rampaging through your door, kick your face, and then shove the knife into your spline.

Keep drawing, or (See above).

WOW. Just WOW...Okay, so my sketch freakness is trying to kick in and say, "The eyes failed." Haha...I love drawing eyes, not so good, but I love them so I hate it when they are messed up, but this was all okay! I'll have to agree with Skins, the mouth was awesome! O_o The shadings were amazing, too! Though I'll be honest that it doesn't look like Jack...but he's good-looking-er than Johnny! LOL Awesome work, Dad! ;] Keep it up and never try to abandon it...or else. RAWR...
