Hello, my name is Adam Wallis. I am proffesor of Zombie studies at the university of Liverpool, England. I have written a definitive guide on how it works, and what to do and not to do should the disease take flight, agagin.

The first thing we must appreicate about Zombieism, is that it is an illness. Something that can not be helped, and is for the rest of life itself. The second thing we must realise is that the bite is not actually a bite, the "Zombies"(I use the term loosely as you shall see) impart the disease onto said persons skin, causing a violent reddening and gash like marks, not actually bite marks. This saliva then seeps throught the pores of the skin and into the bloodstream. The saliva engulfs red blood cells essentially suffocating them. This is what people pre-conceived to be the cause of death, however, the saliva is rich in oxygen and actually keeps all organs alive, hence, the reanimation of the dead. The cause of death is the brain. The brain now recognises foreign bodies and send white blood cells and all it's defences. which are rendered useless on first touch. The brain then thinks it has lost due to the lack of effect its resources have had, so it shuts down. This is the cause of death. The salviaous red blood cells (SRBC) then collect together where they rest (they can not be pumped due to no signals being formed in the brain,) and create like a clot. Then, they do something incredible, the re-animate the organs. Firstly it takes place in the heart, it clings to the muscles of the heart and pulsates, the heart then begins to work due to the SRBC, the rest of the SRBC then are pumped round the body. The lungs go next, then the liver, then so on and forth. The last is the brain, which assumes it has come out of a coma, yet, due to the SRBC it has a slowed pace and all it's nerve endings covered in the said SRBC, giving the "Zombies" their slow nature and dowzed appearence. The brain is then manipulated to spread the disease. The nerve endings send mixed messages and cause violent outbursts and a hunger. The hunger is fasinating, it is not that they want to eat flesh and humans, it is the brain that tells them that they should eat whatever is in most supply, hence humans. The removal of the head to kill them, simply works because the brain cannot cause movement, all organs are still alive but they can not move or eat. The other fasinating thing is that they retain all emotional ties and attachments and new emotions can fester from situations and new events.

So, that's how it works and so you know the facts. Now after the outbreak of the plague in 2012,(Some people claim the end of the Aztec calender symbolised the start os the disease, however, it is just a theory.) leading French scientist, Jaque Cardon, created a dosing formula, which cleaned the nerve endings and they could function the a lesser extent in society. Their bodies now however have now become to reject the formula and are re-mainpulating into the SRBC. So incase the cure becomes completely redundant, here is the survival guide that I think you will need to survive.

Rule one, Get a weapon. When people think weapon they pressume gun, however any fair sized object will suffice. My wife killed her mother using a kettle. My son killed his tacher using a chair, and I killed my best friend with an electric guitar. Things out of plastic are useless, you need something with a bit of umph behind it. A gun would also be useful, but not a neccisity.

Rule two, stick together. Human nature, for some reason, dictates that we should look after ourselves above everyone else, please do not do this. Stay together and don't lost your humanity.

Rule three, don't use cars that aren't yours, unless you see the driver is dead. I know this rule seems bizzare, but you only have to look at the petrol station accident in Washington. A man has escaped the horde and went into a petrol station to look for survivors/weapons. A woman of twenty then ran by saw the empty car, jumped in and attempted to take the car to escape, she has pressumed the driver was dead. He then came out of the station and shot her in the head. So be careful.

Rule four, stay away from fast food chains. Chains such as Mcdonalds have an extra chemical in their food called Yoamix. The chemical draws "Zombies" towards you, so if you go near it, your clothes and skin will smell of the stuff giving them an automatic track on you. So stay away.

Rule five, Don't die. I know this seems like i'm pointing out the obvious, but so many people give up. Quite simply don't.

They are the basic rules that will survive. Of course others are applicable, such as always check people to make sure they are not carrying a mark as they will kill you when they turn. Make sure "zombies" aren't in the back seat. Always have ammo or an axe(A personal favourite). But they have been known since the first zombie films.

Good luck.
Dr. Adam Wallis

Hello there! I suppose I'll be the first to review your rather interesting guide to Zombeism. I'll type my corrections in green so that you can see them! You're basic mistakes were mainly misspellings which are common and often overlooked.
So, that's how it works and so you know the facts. Now after the outbreak of the plague in 2012,(Some people claim the end of the Aztec calender symbolized the start so the disease

In the first paragraph you wrote:
agagin
That should, of course, I assume, be "again".
Last, but not least:
My son killed his teacher using a chair

Now, everything was superb but I just have a little tick about the second paragraph. It was really long and kind of confusing. I think it would be easier to read if you cut it up into more paragraphs so that it's easier for the reader read and understand.
Keep up the good work! Now I know what to do in case of Zombie invasion! :)

Hey Retro, Hawk here to review!

First off, I have to say I love the concept. It's about time someone wrote a zombie manual. And those tips--excellent. You'd think people would have figured them out by now. ;)

Now, onto the review. Something I noticed in your story is that you tend to have a lot of run-on sentences. If you just read some of it aloud, hopefully you'll be able to hear the spots where there should be natural pauses. Commas do not cut it for making such a pause, so you either need to use a semicolon or create a new sentence altogether.

Another thing I noticed is just all of the spelling/grammar mistakes throughout the story, which serves to lessen its "credibility," especially since this is supposed to be written by a university professor. They generally have pretty good spelling. (; So I'd suggest you run through a spell check or something to clean it up.

And, as BarcodedKami said before me, the second paragraph is a monster. You can definitely cut it up into some smaller paragraphs, which would make it less daunting for any reader. Remember, whenever you introduce a change in subject, it becomes a new paragraph. That being said, I really liked the second paragraph (just not the length). It definitely had a scientific and believable air about it and I enjoyed it immensely.

I have written a definitive guide on #FF0000 ">how it works, and what to do and not to do should the disease take flight, agagin.

What, exactly, is "it"? The disease? The actual mechanism of the zombie? We need a little more clarity here.

The first thing we must appreicate about Zombieism, is that it is an illness. Something that can not be helped, #FF0000 ">and is for the rest of life itself.

Not a fan of this wording. The second sentence is too dependent on the first to be completely separate. Also, the "is for the rest of life itself" makes no sense. I think you could reword this to something like, "The first thing we must appreciate about Zombieism is that it is an illness; it's something that cannot be helped and lasts for the rest of the infected host's life."

There should be a new sentence after the "bite" and before "the 'Zombies'." Also, it's not too clear here just how they do transfer the disease. You say they don't bite; so what do they do? Gum a person? I think you could put a little more detail into the fact here.

The hunger is fasinating, it is not that they want to eat flesh and humans, it is the brain that tells them that they should eat #FF0000 ">whatever is in most supply, hence humans.

Really? There are more humans than insects? Grass blades? Plants in general? I love the concept, but I think you need to come up with a better explanation for why they go after humans.

Rule one, Get a weapon.

Use a colon in place of the comma. Gives more weight and importance to the following fact.

The prime example would be the X factor final, 2012 in England. The group Kiss of Paris were in the final, when the lead vocalist,(Fiona Sykes) fell ill with the disease. The other finalists who were not in the group looked out for themselves and ran through the audience. Sarah Ireson, was crushed in the stampede and Drake Luckland was eaten by Fiona. The rest of Kiss of Paris stuck together and are still alive to day.

I'm guessing this is referring to the TV show X-Factor? Anyways, it's confusing and for people who don't know what you're talking about, it's too vague and unrelated.

Of course others are applicable, such as always check people to make sure they are not carrying a mark as they will kill you when they turn. Make sure "zombies" aren't in the back seat. Always have ammo or an axe(A personal favourite).

Haha yes indeed.

All right, so that's all I have to nitpick on. I really do love this work. Please PM me if you have any questions or whatnot. Keep up the good work! (:

Wow this was a really great piece. I'm a bit of a zombie fanatic so this was very appealing to me. Everything was very good, you explained how zombies are created very well. Also, the rules were great, very basic and easy to understand! But I did notice a few spelling errors such as "again" and "teacher". But besides that it was great :)
