Last night, I felt like drawing something cute. And how much cuter can you get than a pink octopus examining some seaweed?

Ha this is just simply adorable! I love the colors you have chosen and how you blended them in. I also really like the lighting effects, making it look all...shiny and squishy. This is great, seriously if they had a pet like this I would totally get one! Good job! :D

Must. Not. Succumb. To cuteness.

AWWWW. It's so tiny! xD And innocent! *hugs octopus*

*ahem* I mean! Yes. Tis very nice. I suppose. O_o

Seriously, though. Apart from the overall adorableness of this octopus, your shading and layering of the colors is really genius, and I can't stop looking at it. How in the world did you draw this in a day? Sheesh.

Anyways, sorry for the pointless and helpless review. Draw more octopi/octopusses/etc!

You drew this? Seriously? Wow; you're incredibly talented. And those eyes....

Kind of reminds me of Puss n boots in Shrek, you know? Completely adorable.

And I am jealous of your talent. There, it's said.

It's not a penguin...but it's pink and squishy so I like it.
You make me want to paint something cute now too. >.>
Maybe I'll take out my tablet and actually do something on photoshop, but that will require lots of brain work since I'm low on patience.

Good job,

Glad you all like this. :D

@Knightley

All will succumb to the cuteness! Mwahahahaha!!!

And I drew it in about fourty minutes. :P It was just a matter of starting with a dark pink and painting over orange for general squishiness, blue-green for the shadows, and some white for the highlights. And blending. There was much blending. Blending is fun.

*Seriously, I think I would have preferred if you'd said you'd slaved over it for like 4 hours....-_-

That's really good(:!!!!!!!! It's so cute. I'd like to know what you used to color him/her in? It looks almost like paints, or pastels?

Too bad. I didn't. Speed comes with practice.

I'd like to know what you used to color him/her in? It looks almost like paints, or pastels?

I used a program called openCanvas. You can find the freeware version floating around (which, though it's buggy is still quite good) or you can buy a copy off the portalgraphics site.

openCanvas is designed to emulate traditional media, which is why I love it so, and it works best with a pen tablet. In this case, I used the set of oil paint brushes.

Awwww....

Okay, that is the cutest little octopus I've ever seen. I love the color and overall style, the thing just looks so soft and squishy! It looks like it hopped right out of a little children's book.
Well, this was...a lousy review...but I guess in the way of critiquing there isn't all that much to say. This thing is cute. End of story. *likes

Nicely done. However, there's not much depth to it. I suggest you go over it with a darker pink or a burn tool (if openCanvas has that tool) to create some darker areas. the head is kinda okay, but the lower ends of the tentacles look rather flat.
Also, adding some bubbles and a watery background (or at least a suggestion of a blue wash) would make it very nice.
Hope I helped!

Aww, I love it! You did the texture really well, he looks all shiny. ^-^ I don't really have anything constructive to add, I just wanted to say that Mr. Octopus looks like he's going to give that seaweed to someone. Maybe you should draw a Miss Octopus that he could give it to!

Wow! It's really cute!
i love the coloring; the pink-orage really goes well against the green. Maybe you could add a little shading and show some of the suction cup things on the octopus. Good job getting the right number of tentacles! I can't wait to see more of your cute drawings.
