As viewers, we can feel a sense of loss, sacrifice, or maybe even boldness in this artwork. The shading on the face and neck ,which was dark, was a bonus on the overall given mood. The hair for some may look nice but for me it looks a bit dull. Avoid trying to outline the shape of hair as it gives it a sense of boredom. Try adding free curves as if wind was blown at her hair, the imperfections in the hairstyle is what makes it beautiful afterall. I love the flowers that looked detailed near the bottom left and what the girl was wearing shows a lot of work. Perhaps her eye is a bit bigger than it actually should be and the tears showld be moved a bit further away from the center and near the corners for more impact. The nose should be moved a bit to the left as well . The blood on the sword is a nice add-on but I'd advise adding more shading and designs to the sword to remove it from its flat 2-D status. I admire how the hand grabbing the sword looks somewhat evil that tells a spooky story about that girl (who seems to be a warrior) but the way the hand is grabbing it is wrong. Try searching online for the way hands grab swords to make it look more realistic.
Examples of swords: I hope to see more of your work for it shows good art dedication .
Hello there Chy. (or whatever you like to be called.)
This is a pretty nice, detailed piece. I can tell you took quite a bit of care in drawing/inking it, and for the most part it's really paid off. I'm a really big fan of high-contrast line-shading, pretty much what you've done here, so I was excited! Of course, as with all things, there are a few things that are sort of iffy, but hey, nothing that can't be fixed with a little practice and/or referencing.
Don't be afraid to have things for reference. For example, I stink royally at hands so I usually either take a picture of my hand in whatever position I want, or I find a picture online. The more you do that, the more you'll start to be able to just go without looking at anything at all. Yay!
For the hair, it looks a bit stiff. I'd say that the line around it is kind of thick, sort of giving it this fake look. I very much so agree with Boomingecho about adding more of a flow with the breeze or just imperfections in general, since she's not in a shampoo ad and all.
As for the face, I wouldn't say move the nose to the left, but actually move the mouth to the right. It should be pretty much centered with the tip of the chin.
Hands should be a bit bigger; they look unnatural, especially the one holding the sword. I won't harp on that; once again, Boomingecho's got it covered.
Where her hand is grasping the fabric, pay attention to the direction of the folds. All in all that's a pretty neat effect you have on that top layer of fabric, and that layer in the bottom left, with all the flowers? I'm loving that.
Once again, job well done! Keep practicing and keep up the great work!
