Just a little poem that's not even really a poem, just a...well I don't know. Lyric poem seemed to fit the mood best. This is inspired by two things. Lily Allen's music video for '22' (the dance scene) and some of the feelings I am having toward someone right now. Plus that certain someone looks really dashing in his ROTC uniform

He takes Her hand, and spins Her around the room. A silent, yet happy, dance. The Couple holds each other close as They swirl to the music that only They can hear.
She seems so out of place in the dirty and desolate room. What little light that filters in through the dusty windows reflects off of Her silver-blue dress that fits Her ever so well and brightens up the room.

He thinks She is a thing of beauty, She thinks He looks dashing in His dark suit.

The only audience at this dance are some toilets, a sink, a few urinals, and a broken, dirty mirror. Neither He nor She seems to care.

It is not just some simple waltz.

He spins Her round. She twirls by herself. He dips her low. They change directions spontaneously. She and He separate. He and She join together, as One.

Together alone, that’s where They are. Keeping Each Other company in such an empty place. As They twirl about, for no reason and for every reason at all. They realize that this moment, this moment that they are together, could be gone in a flash.

The dancers become closer. She no longer wants to feel the twirl of Her dress against the lower half of Her body, She wants to feel His warmth. He just wants to be sure that She’s still here. He worked so hard to get Her there with Him. He is not going to give Her up.

The dance continues, it is not just some simple waltz. It is no longer happy. It is hectic, chaotic. They dance as if They would die if They let go of Their partner.

Yet, there is still the same feeling of love behind it.

Yet, neither of Them realizes the Other feels it.

Love.

In this dance, love becomes lover.

In this life, lover becomes over.

In this dance, over becomes never.

In this life, nothing becomes forever.

In this dance, He has Her. She has Him.

In this life, No One has Nobody.

In this dance, Lovers Love.

In this life, Lovers are Over.

In this dance, that Over starts Never.

In this life, Nothing is Forever.

In this dance, He and She, they belong to One Another.

In this life, No One belongs to Nobody.

These two lovers, They decided to dance.

Living is so overrated.

He says.

When They dance, neither He nor She lives. Yet, They are more alive than They have ever been. For in this dance, there is love. A love that can never exist in living.

He takes Her hand, and He holds Her close.

mmmkay I have really know idea how that made sense, and in some places it didn't, but I was STILL swaying by the end of the poem! that was beautiful, and I have no idea why! :D It was dark and heartbreaking and loving all at the same time. I could feel the rhythm the poem was set too, and was dancing a little myself as I said. Very pretty, hardly needs a thing done to it.
