This is Lovelle. She is one of the characters in my graphic novel. The novel is a fan-fic about on the Nightmare Before Christmas. Lovelle is Dr. Finkelstein's first creation, before Sally. She leads Jack into Halloween Town from Earth.



Another of Lovelle. I've been doing a lot of studies on her so I know her for every angle she will be in. You'll be able to see Jack in about a week when I get him uploaded.



Matty is one of the main character's in my NaNo novel, Saving Matty. He is opposite Kisa, who I will post a drawing of later. Aiden is Matty's wife.



This is one of the drawings that I am putting in my artfolio for my college applications. It is in a collection of five drawings, all based on the 'sky falling' theme. It is symbolic of how the Earth is falling apart and how people choose to see it -- if people choose to see it or not. Other drawings in the collection include a woman hiding her eyes while the sky falls on her, and a little boy trying to get his father to look at the falling sky, but the father refuses. This is my favorite.

Those are really good! The second could've used more detail, but it was still beautiful. The third was very detailed, but the guys eyes looked kind of off. And his head is to pointed. Maybe make his hat thinker, so it looks better, and curve the top more. The girl's ear could be redrawn. The last is very good, Nice detail.

I love it all. You are so talented!

Hey Classy!

Good pictures. I'll just give a few comments.

#1. A graphic novel? Awesome. The only thing is the foot that faces forward needs to be worked on. That is a tough thing, but try drawing the feet that way for practice. Right now, it looks flat-ish. It needs depth and shading.

Matty and Aiden - Good work with the girl. The guy is good too, but the girl is drawn really well. The guy's headband could do with a little more depth to give a pop-out effect and you can add hair ruffled around the edges of the band. And he'd look cuter with a mild stubble.

Last one - Love this loads. Really good! What major are you planning to apply for?

Love the patched skin, but the second Lovelle has different hair from the first, plus, she loses the patches, why?
Your style shifts quite a lot! You did a simple cartoon style with Lovelle, but you switched to realistic with Matty & Aiden. I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but I think you may have used a reference photo. Did you? If not, then you're awesome!
I think the "Falling Sky" one could have used some more falling debris; it looks too clean as is. Post the other "Falling Sky" pictures!

The sky is falling is definitely my favourite. I love the texture of the trees and hair!
The others are good too, although the second does lack texture.

Sam! Here I am with your promised review.

So, these are absolutely breathtaking. I don't know how many times I can stress how great a drawer you are, lol. As seen here, you've proven yourself to be skilled at a variety of styles, both cartoon-like and realistic. There's a lot of depth to these drawings and your shading is just brilliant. Even though there is no color, it feels such rich and full.

#1 - This is probably my favorite drawing of the four. I like how you made the patches on her skin so subtle, but also make them really stand out. One note about her face; is she supposed to be looking downward? Because her face seems like it's all squished down in the bottom third or so. In her skirt, you can also see a bit of where you erased her legs.

#2 - I love it, Sam. There is something about this drawing that makes it feel very authentic and cartoon-like. I really like how you bolded out all of the lines and used such little shading - it does give the drawing a really powerful effect. My only complaint is that it just feels a little too plain. Try adding some color or some other detail as to where she is - it would add to it a lot. Also, I can't really tell what she's feeling right now. Is she sad? In a reflective state? Perhaps you could accent the scene around her to make it a bit more clear?

#3 - This is so cute. These two characters look really realistic and the proportions are just perfect. However, you kind of over do the shading and just feels really smudgy and messy. I can tell that you erased a lot, and it's really distracting from the overall feel of the picture. You might also want to try adding more depth to Matty's hat - it looks like it's sitting on his head as opposed to actually on it.

I don't have much to say about the last one - again, just watch the shading.

This persons head looks kind of weird like it is parted three times. Besides that and what other people have said I like them.

Calligraphy, those are shines in her hair. XD I guess I need to work on that a bit.
