As you can see, even the chatroom is in a Hallow's Eve spirit! Are you ready!? Are you pumped?! Because we are! What are you going as? Are you going to a party? Trick or treating? Handing out candy? Or being a total lamo and preparing for Nano >.>? Whatever you're doing, remember there are rules to follow, for both safety and fun.
Trick or treating.
-The number one rule of Trick or treating, You're never too old to Trick or treat. I cannot stress this enough. Around here, we have twenty-five year olds still trick or treating. You're only old when you stop having fun.
-Always go with friends, and some one older and mature enough to watch after you. Yes, it's sad to say, but it's still true. People have gone missing on Hallow's Eve and have never been seen again, people have had horrible things happen to them, people have been killed. Stay with a group of friends and a mature adult.
-Check candy before eating it. You hear of people slipping drugs and needles and razors into candy, and you think it could NEVER happen to you. Well, it can. It's happened to a friend of mine. We didn't check our candy and we were eating it as we were trick or treating, and she started to feel woozy and funny. We had been followed for the past five blocks, and she ended up passing out. Because the person slipped roofies into the bag or chips. If we had noticed the small hole in the bag, we could have prevented that call to the police and that trip to the hospitable.
-Don't wear all black. Hallow's Eve is at night. NIGHT. That means DARK OUT. If you're crossing a where there are no street lights, and a car is coming, you can get hit. It's a safety thing. be safe.
-Don't drink and trick or treat. I know it sounds cool "Hey Bob! Let's be cool and get drunk!" No. It's not cool. So many bad things can happen while impaired. Like when you're traveling alone. Also, it kills millions of braincells, yes, you DO need those. Not to mention the nasty headache you'll have the next day.
-NEVER go into a strangers house. No matter how nice that little old couple looks, or how cool that guy's costume is, it's not safe. You may never come back out, or, you may come out after a traumatizing event. Play it safe, tell them you can't go in, you aren't allowed. I'd personally shoot out the candy they give me after wards. Just to be safe.
Rules of handing out candy.
-DON'T GIVE OUT HEALTHY STUFF. Hallow's Eve is all about teeth rotting yummyness. Stay true to the Hallow's Eve spirit. If they wanted healthy stuff they would have stayed home!
-Don't leave your candy in a bowl on your step. Meanie teenies, *yes I had to make that rhyme* will empty the bowl into their bag. Leaving none for the little kids *cry*. Let's remember, Hallow's Eve is for everyone, don't be greedy.
-Don't leave your light on if you aren't handing out candy. Your house might be egged, teepeed, ect. It upsets Trick or treaters.
-Don't tell trick or treaters into your home. It's just plan creepy, even if your intentions are good. It makes you seem like you are going to hurt them, it may upset parents, heck, you may get a visit from the police! Do you really want that? Do you want a visit from the police on Hallow's Eve?
-Another thing not to hand out if those gross little peppermints and caramels and grandma's kisses. Not many people like them, and they almost always end up going to the parents. THE PARENTS. The parent's who don't even dress up! Where's the justice in that? Sure they take the kids out, but the TRUE spirit of Hallow's Eve is dressing up for the candy.
-Don't ask the kids to do a trick, like sing the alphabet. It's annoying and embarrassing.
Party.
- DON'T DRINK. If you're under aged. If you are of age, keep an eye on your drink.
-Keep an eye on you're drink. Someone could slip anything into it at anytime. Then bad things can happen, bad, bad things.
-Have a responsible driver available. Don't drink and drive. Three people around where I live have died in drunk driving accident's lately. It's saddening. So even if you have only one drink, don't drive. It's common sense, which doesn't seem to be all that common.
-Don't crash people's parties. It's not as much fun as you think it is. There is a higher chance of bad things happening, and you won't know anyone there. Also, they may be doing something you aren't comfortable with, excessive drinking, drugs, ect.
-Don't worry about being judged. It's a Hallow's Eve party. People are wearing costumes, people are dancing, join them! Don't show up not wearing a costume! This night is all about fun!
Nano
-DON'T LET NANO OVERSHADOW HALLOW'S EVE!
