Poppy is Naya's god-daughter. I thought it would be quite fun to have a baby in the house, maybe help bring out a different side to Julian, create some comedy and maybe bring him and Naya a little closer?

**ahh, okay well here goes nothing!**

Julian shook his head. He couldn't deal with all this stuff today. They didn't even have electricity at all. He turned around and started to put his jacket on. He stuck his feet in his shoes and grabbed his keys. This was very weird, he wasn't sure he liked this. She was more trouble than she was worth. He opened the door when she started talking.

"Where are you going?" she turned to look at him.

He turned back to face her. "Somewhere."

"And you're just going to leave me here?" she asked, kind of shocked.

He closed the door to the trailer and looked at her. "Do you want to go with me?" He asked dryly.

She looked around for a couple of minutes then stared at him. "Where are you going?" she repeated.

"To pay this stupid bill. Go get food, 'cause it's obvious you're not cooking, and then maybe do something interesting I don't know but it sure beats being here." With you, and your problems. He said silently inside his head.

Naya rolled her eyes before grabbing her jacket and a pair of warm boots. "I think I'll come with you...if you don't mind..." Not that Naya cared if he minded or not. She wasn't about to stay in their creepy trailer all by herself without electricity.

Julian shrugged and opened the door, she was coming. He never knew that marriage was going to be like a ribbon attached to his wrist as well as hers. He waited for her to get outside on the porch and gave her the keys to the truck.

"Here, go start the truck." he said, normally.

Her eyebrow went up. "Where are you going to be?" she asked, confused.

"I'm locking the door." He said, as if she were an idiot. She glared at him.

"Why? No one is going to want to steal your three cans of beer you have in the fridge. That is if you can even see in there." She said.

He shot her a look of annoyance. He left the door unlocked. He stalked to the truck, not caring if she was behind him or not. Today was an all over bad day and it couldn't get any worse. He started the truck and she got inside. He pulled out of the lot before she could even close her door. He could see her glaring at him from the corner of his eye. The truck was freezing, Julian turned on the heater and placed his left elbow on the window sill.

"Where to, Angel?" he said.

Naya shrugged. "Your the driver..." she said, before staring out of her window.

They drove in silence. First stop was paying the electricity bill. Naya wanted to get out of the truck and go with Julian but she didn't want him to think she was tagging on to him like a lost child, so in the end, she decided to stay behind in the truck and wait while he sorted things out.

It was pitch black outside, which creeped Naya out, not to mention the fact that Julian parked up the truck in the side of a deserted alley. The jerk. In an attempt to forget about being scared, she began to make mental notes of all the things that needed to be done before her goddaughter would arrive tomorrow.

Suddenly, she could here footsteps approaching the alley followed by the loud voices of a group of young men. Naya bit her lip with nerves and discretely took a glance from the truck's rear-view mirror. The group of young men appeared to have been talking amongst themselves before spotting the truck. Naya watched with horror as they began to approach closer to the vehicle. She could hear them talking to one another about checking to see whether anyone was inside.

Her heart began to race as their faces suddenly appeared in front of her window. She desperately tried to hide, but it was too late, their eyes were already fixed on her's, their gazes full of hunger and lust. Shaking, she desperately grabbed her cellphone to call Julian.

"Hey there, pretty lady..." one of the young men smiled from behind her.

Her cellphone dropped in horror.

They were inside the truck.

**Way to take a plunge down horror lane  **

Julian thought this bill was going to take forever. The lady helping him out was older, she was so tiny and frail Julian thought she was going to die where she stood. She tried to work fast but she was too weak. Julian felt sorry for her. She too lived in the trailer park. She smiled and handed Julian a recipt with a shaking hand.

"Your electricty should be on in less than an hour. Thank you." She smiled, it was a sad smile and Julian felt sick for a second. How sad...

"Thanks... I-" He was cut off by a blood curtling scream. It was high pitched, it was... Naya! Julian took the paper and ran out the door.

There were men... Everywhere. What the hell. They didn't seem to even glance at Julian they were trying to take Naya out of the car and she was screaming her head off. Julian ran behind one of the men and threw a mean right hook, the guy landed on the floor, knocked out cold. There were three other men. One was trying to rip Naya's shirt open. Way to throw paper into a lit fire, Julian yanked the scum bag out of the truck and threw him to the ground, he began to repeativly kick the man in the ribs.

The two others yanked Julian away. They both grabbed on to his arms and began to throw drunken punches. Julian was hit square in the jaw. Pain exploded through his entire mouth. He kicked at them trying to get them off of him. He finally got one of the ground while the other tried to hit the back of his skull in. He elbowed the man in the face and watched him scamble off. He kicked the other two who weren't awake. And the third he punched two more times, the one who had been on Naya.

He ran a hand through his black curly hair. Man, that had been a good fight. Julian thought his jaw was broken until he moved it. He clenched it, pain, and uncleanched it pain. Julian felt blood trickle out of his mouth and out of his left nostril. He wiped it away. He walked to the passanger side where Naya was. She was shaking and tears were pouring out of her eyes but she made no sound. Julian looked down at her. Her plain shirt was torn revealing her black lacey bra. There was a small trickle of blood coming out of her nose too. Julian took off his jacket and wrapped it around her. He was wearing a sweat shirt underneath. He took her small face in both hands and turned her face, first to the left and then to the right. She was shaking and her right cheek was turning blue.

"Stupid motherfu-!" Julian stopped himself. He'd never cursed before in front of her. EVER... "Are you hurt? Did they hurt you?" He growled...

Naya was trembling in shock, her eyes were wide and frightened. She could see Julian bursting with anger as he surveyed her but she found that she couldn’t verbally respond to his questions.

“Naya,” he said again, “Tell me, did they hurt you?”

She shook her head. Julian ran a hand through his curls, his face burning red with anger. His eyes suddenly fell on her ripped shirt. the blood running down her nose and the bruise on her cheek.

“I’m gonna kill them!” he snarled, whipping round back to where the attackers had fled.

“No!” Naya's voice shook. She gripped his arm. “Don’t...”

Julian frowned. “I’m not going to let them get away with this-”

“Just...” Naya wanted to burst out crying but she couldn't do it. "just leave it,” she said, releasing her grip on him.

Julian looked as though he wanted to protest, but perhaps seeing the desperate look in Naya’s eyes made him change his mind. His jaw tightened.

Julian felt as if steam was fumming from his ears and nose. He wiped the blood from her nose and got her inside the truck and shut the door violently. He walked to the other side of the truck and got in. This was terrible. This shouldn't have happened. Julian wanted to hit his head against the steering wheel. He should have never traded cars. He got in and slammed the door. He locked the doors and clenched his jaw, ouch.

"I don't want to go home we have to get groceries." She stammered.

Julian looked at her. "Are you kidding me? If someone sees us walking around their going to think I did that." He said indicating her shirt and face. "No, Angel, we're going home. I'll get food later." He should have never taken her with him.

She nodded and looked out the window as he pulled out of the parking lot...

Julian parked up the truck outside the trailer in silence and immediately walked to the other side to open Naya’s door for her, putting his arm under Naya’s knees, lifting her with little effort into his arms.

Naya felt awkward. “Its fine, I can walk-”

But Julian wasn’t listening, he still looked furious. He pulled back the covers of the bed and gently placed her onto it before retrieving the first aid kit, pulling out bandages and tape and antibiotic cream. He headed for the kitchen and grabbed a washcloth. Naya sat still and watched as Julian, with a look of serious intensity, carefully wiped away some of the dry blood on Naya’s nose, before applying cream onto her bruise. A sudden feeling erupted from deep inside her, a feeling of warmth, of safety...it half-confused her and half-terrified her at the same time.

Once Julian was sure he covered everything, he took a seat on a chair beside the bed and let out a deep sigh.

“Thank you,” she said to him genuinely.

The intensity of his expression barely dimmed. “You don’t need to thank me,” he muttered, rubbing his jawline and wincing.

“Are you hurt?” she asked him, worriedly.

“It’s nothing,” he waved away.

There was a long pause. Naya watched Julian intently wondering what he must be thinking. He looked angrier than she had ever seen him before, and that was saying something.

How many times are you going to fail people who need you? How many more people are going to have to die because of you? You may not be able to love, but that is no excuse for letting others down? What the hell is wrong with you? Voices echoed in Julian's head. He stared out the window. It was pitch black outside. Thunder clouds began to roll in. He stared out the window, his eyebrows had a sort of fierce look to them, his elbow was on the chair arm, his thumb was on the front of his chin the rest of his hand was under it. Naya layed under the covers, she rolled over onto her side. Her back to Julian. He was worried that someone, some scummy stranger had stripped her of her safety. The electricty still wasn't on, it had been two hours. Julian knew it wasn't going to come on tonight. Rain started to pitter patter ontop of the metal roof...

Naya woke up the next morning with a jump. It took her several seconds before her eyes adjusted to the early morning light peering in through the curtains. Chest heaving from her nightmare, she looked around her. She was in the trailer. There was no truck, no alley, no attackers...Everything was fine.

As her breathing became more steady, she climbed out of the bed and headed into the bathroom for a shower. Ten minutes later she emerged with a towel and looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her face was pale and the bruise on her cheek had darkened. She looked up at the small clock just outside the bathroom and realised that the driver would be arriving with her god-daughter in an hour. Naya couldn’t let the little girl see her like this, even if she was too small to ask questions. Heaving a deep sigh, Naya began rummaging through her makeup bag and pulling out some essentials.

She stepped out of the bathroom looking as good and approached the bedroom to see that Julian had fallen asleep on the chair he'd been sitting on last night. As he watched him, she remembered the way he'd taken care of her last night. The memory moved something inside of her again which she couldn’t quite understand.

“I’m being silly,” she told herself, shaking her head. She'd definitly make it up to him though, and the only thing she could think of in order to do that was to at least make him a proper breakfast, Du Maurier style.

Luckily, the fridge had enough inside it for a good breakfast. Cracking a few eggs and filling up a few griddles, Naya plated up a large pile of pancakes. She placed the plate on the table next to another plate filled with bacon, eggs and sausages and then turned to face the still sleeping Julian. Breakfast was ready, now all she needed to do was wake him up...

Julian had no dreams, as usual. It was just sleep and then getting woken up. Julian was greeted by a loud thump, cry, and then something falling onto his lap. He opened his eyes and saw Naya on his lap. His neck was stiff and he looked down at her. He felt the corners of his mouth quiver to go upwards.

"This is the second morning." He said. "You sure know how to wake a guy up."

She looked like she was hiding a smile. "I tripped over your long legs." She said.

Julian peered over her small body to examine his legs. "They're not that long." He said although they were pretty long compairing his height. Yeah, his legs were long.

"I didn't mean to hurt you sorry if I did. I came in here to wake you up, I uh... I made breakfast."

"You? Made breakfast?" He said slowly, eyeing her. She was beautiful...

His eyes bore into hers for a long time. He was tempted to kiss her again. He decided, for all she had been through last night he wouldn't. She was still sitting in his lap, where she had fallen. She searched his eyes for something, he could tell. He forced to show nothing... It was as if she realized where she was, she scrambled off his lap and wiped her hair back.

"Yes, I made breakfast."

Julian stood up, towering over her. "Then I'm hungry."

Naya lead him towards the breakfast table and watched as his eyes surveyed the mammoth breakfast in front of him with a look of pleasant surprise.

He looked down at her with a raised brow. “You really made all of this?”

Naya rolled her eyes. “No need to look so shocked...”

“I can’t help it,” Julian smirked. “I’ve always imagined you as the type to not know how to cook.”

Naya raised a brow. “Why? Because I’m rich?”

“Yeah,” Julian replied bluntly.

Naya glared at him. “You know what, I don’t think I want you eating my breakfast anymore...”

Julian grabbed a few strands of bacon and pancake before shoving them into his mouth. “Too late.”

Suddenly there came a knock on their trailer door.

“Oh, that must be Poppy!” Naya exclaimed, excitedly before jumping to her feet.

After taking her goddaughter from the driver, Naya bid him farewell before carrying Poppy into the living room area where Julian was now sat eating breakfast.

“Say hello to Uncle Julian,” Naya told her.

“Hello Uncle Julian!” the blonde haired and blue eyed three-year-old said happily as her eyes fell on him, but her little lisp was so bad that it sounded more like “Hello Un-kuh Jumien!”

He looked at the three year old. Were they really that tiny? She was cute, and didn't look like her mother at all. She stuck her fingers in her mouth and smiled shyly at Julian. She looked up at Naya and laughed. Naya smiled back at her.

"Are you hungry, Poppy?" she smiled down at the little creature.

She shook her blond head still smiling at Julian.

Oh dear. Looks like Julian had a new girlfriend, she was two feet tall, had blond hair and looked like she was going to give him kisses...
