Silencing the imagination is the cruellest thing one can do to another.

Just made it up, off the top of my head. You like?

I like the idea, but I think the actual statement could use a little rewording.
I feel so lame for nitpicking at a one-liner -_-

This exactly what school does to me. School is supposed to be where you learn things, but also where you be creative. Or so they say. But school tries to make you creative when you are not and then you don't have the energy to be creative when you would have been before. You might get an idea, but it is instantly squelched when you remember the Spanish test due tomorrow. I wish the world was different so people could just create when they felt like it.

P.S. Sorry I didn't actually help you before, but this is just one line and I suck at grammar. I really like this, but what are you wanting us to help you with?

Like storiesandsuch said, good idea, but worded a little awkwardly.

Silencing the imagination is the cruellest thing one can do to another.

This sounds... wrong. "Silencing the imagination" sounds like you're talking about all imagination, yet "one can do to another" speaks of acts against one person. I'd suggest changing it to either,

"Silencing imagination is the cruelest thing one can do to another,"

which is aimed towards one person, or

"Silencing imagination is the cruelest thing one can do,"

which is aimed at everyone.

I took out the "the" because it limits imagination, like saying "the ball" or "the sock." It makes it seem like it's talking about one singular object, whereas imagination is intangible. You could say "your imagination" or "my imagination" but "the imagination" just doesn't make sense.

Hope I helped and didn't simply ramble on and on about one sentence. :|
