My second edition to my flash fiction collection. Enjoy!

The cliff stood abrupt on the edge of the plateau. Below it, white beaches spread for miles next to aquamarine waters. Gentle tides splashed against gray rock sticking above the sea ten feet in. My lungs collapsed as all hope receeded within me. Imaginary hands pushed me over the ledge and to my destiny; the painful but quick death that awaited me below.

Like a distant memory, I plunged past half of the rock-face, gravity overtaking my body. Then, as if my brain had started to catch on to everything, my blurry vision was now letting me recognize what was flying past.

A seagull soaring, a tuna fish fighting to escape its grasp clung in its beak. A walrus, sun bathing next to a pile of seashells. I struggled to turn my head but saw a sailboat with masts as big as windmills, glowing against a bright sun that created the perfect Kodak moment.

But that was the last of it.
Apple of my soul,
Eats me whole,
Take one bite,
No delight,
Rotting hole.

That was seriously great.
I always loved flash-fiction, and you do it very well.
You've captured everything perfectly, with an amazing ending.
Your spelling and grammar are perfect, same with your description and emotions
I really felt it when the MC jumped.

Why hello there Jane,
I am who the peoples have started to call simply 'The Chef.' At this late hour I shall be one, experiencing my first flash fiction and two; telling you my thoughts and feelings of it.

I must say that flash fiction seems as though as it is played by quick words and a gripping synopsis! I hope that's right, because if it is than your story fits perfect. It was decently short to read, which I like and of course the synopsis. I'm assuming whoever is doing the makeshift cliff diving feels her destiny has come to swell over upon her/him. They leap off the cliff and notice a few things. The first is the waters of course, but truly the first would be an annoying seagull whose trapped a poor tuna. :( How sad for the tuna. *be set free tuna, fly fly* Perhaps this symbolizes regret or an annoyance long past that has been forgotten. (hurt or peer pressure if you will, being held by something twice your size: negative. Or perhaps it reflects life itself and how unlawful or justly it is at times)
Then of course the walrus is bathing next to seashells. Hmmmmm...
A walrus is generally smooth and seashells are beautiful, but also rough. This I think for me, signifies that 'life' is the true meaning of the story. However inescapable death may be, right up until you'll die you have the beauty and the ugly. 'The captured tuna vs. a smooth yet accompanied walrus with shells' symbolizing the ups and downs, cracks if you will along side your choices. I can go on and on, which should make you feel great lolz.
It was a superb read for how short it was, I mean it got me on a riot right?
Please cont. with more flash fiction, I like it! Perhaps you have inspired me to write some of my own in the future. *bravo, clap clap clap*
