I rush on this, how bad of me >:[
Maybe I'll rewrite this later, right after people start to nit pick EVERY SINGLE GRAMMAR PROBLEM I HAVE :]

Chapter 2: The god of Mercy, Clay

Luka’s eyes widen as she scream as loud as she could, “EDAN!!”

These words were like daggers repeatedly stabbing my heart over and over. Or rather, it is like a knife that had struck my chest but I am too scared to take it out and therefore, I am a coward.

Harry’s place——FallingSummer 26, 1967
Harry waves the girl good-bye and sighs, “So I guess you were eavesdropping on us, huh Edan?”
“Heh,” I snarl at him, “Seems like you knew all along, I’m amazed that Luka actually knew what I was doing.”
“Well that was an easy guess Edan; you’ve only been targeting ancient artifacts: Shylem and Alian.”
“Yeah, but the problem is how she’s going to stop me.” I smirk at him and walk away.

The Shrine of Clay——FallingSummer 28, 1967
“Something seems wrong.” I mutter to myself. I walk toward the shrine seeing all of these dead corpses. Crouching down on one of them, I touch their neck, “Fresh… they only died minutes ago.” It seems that studying the corpses made me off guard. I immediately took my hand off the corpse when I heard a rumbling noise. I stood up and look around; there’s nothing to be seen rather than these empty hallow bodies. I sighed and turn back around only to be greeted by a fist. My body hit the trees and I look at the guardian of Clay. He was one of the smallest and most humanize guardians I’ve seen yet. He stood at a height of 6’2 and looks like a Legion from a tribe somewhere however, I look for the hands that slam me against the tree but I see none. Then how did he hit me? I gaze up, seeing two giant armored hands floating on top of the guardian. The sentinel’s hand made another quick punch at me, breaking trees in its way. “It hurts… but I must not give up,” I could barely hear my voice; I was choking on my own blood, heh, how surprising. The sentinel came closer and closer to me.
“No time to be panicking…” I tried to gain back my courage—if I had any left—I was trying hard and fast to think of a plan. The guard stood in front of me as he looks at me in the eyes. I glare at him. The guard then sighed and started to speak, “You… what is your purpose here?”
“Am I dreaming?” I wonder to myself. I raise up my left hand and put it on my cheek, pulling it. Pain… I still feel pain… then this isn’t a dream.
“Human, I speak again, what is your purpose here?” His cold blue eyes seem as if he’s staring right into my soul.
“Isn’t that obvious? I’m here to take the artifact of Clay.” It seems like I have some kind of death wish here. I shouldn’t have said that.
“Another one… why must you need this artifact, human?”
Another one, what does he mean? Oh, right, those dead soldiers over there. I slowly stood up, holding on to my broken ribs. “I need this artifact because——”
“I understand.” The sentinel shut me off before I could even start my whole speech. Oh well, at least he let me go.
“Human, don’t take your time, go quickly. May the god Clay watch over you.”
I shook my head and limp my way toward the shrine. Clay, huh, I guess you don’t call yourself the god of mercy for nothing. I headed in the shrine and walk the long path of the shrine. The walls are covered in blue crystal this time. They seem to sparkle even in the darkest night. But this is no time to be fascinated by simple crystals. I hurried to the center——when I got there, I stop and broke down.
“W-what is this?!” I mutter in a loud tone. The artifact was gone! Who could have taken it? I’m panicking, “No, no, calm down Edan, you must think.” No matter how hard I reason with myself, there is no good clarification I can follow. Without thinking, I rush out of the shrine, ignoring the immense pain coming from my rib cage and legs.

Lekreet——FallingSummer 35, 1967
Luka walks the streets, holding and playing with an armlet, humming a tune.
“You seem to be having a good time.” Yuu call out to her.
“Oh, Yuu! How was your research on Ken?”
He sighed and hand her the paper. She grabs the paper and began to briefly look at it.
“He’s a mercenary from the Alias, but what did he want with Yuu?”
“No, he was probably aiming for your head; Ken only thought that I would get in the way so he tried to finish me off.”
“So where is he now?”
“Unknown, for now.” Yuu mumbles the last two words. Luka gaze at him, studying his face.
“Are you angry because he knocked you out?”
“No!” He directly said to Luka, “I’m just angry that he hit me on the head, I could have gotten dumb from that, you know!”
Luka chuckled, covering her mouth with the hand that was holding the armlet.
“Oh? What’s that fancy armlet you got there Luka? You’ve been wasting your time shopping?”
“No, silly, this is the artifact of Clay.”
“Clay? You took this from the shrine of Clay?”
She nodded in accomplishment. “Let’s go Yuu.”
“Go? Go where,” He asks her as he follows her footsteps.
“To the Order’s castle of course, I need to give the king this artifact since he seems to want it.”
“You’re just gonna give the king the artifact? Are you crazy?”
“It’s the king’s order Yuu, even I want this.”
“Then tell me how you got it, at least.”
“That’s easy; I just sacrifice the other newbies and took the artifact while they were keeping the guardian busy.”
“Wow, you’re becoming just like Edan.” Yuu mutter to himself.

Castle of the Order——FallingSummer 35, 1967
“I congratulate you, Luka, on your achievement of Clay’s artifact,” the king said, calmly, on his throne. “Now please, give me it.”
“As you wish your majesty,” Luka obeyed his order and stood up, taking the armlet off her hand and dropping it on his. The king exam the artifact, chuckling, “So this is the ancient artifact, looks like a normal armlet to me.” The king lifts up the tip of his shoe and spin around, facing his back at theirs. “Oh, yes! You guys can… do whatever you want to do in this castle for now.”
Yuu sighed, stood up and walk out of the throne room. Luka soon follow him. “What a careless king he is.” Yuu grumbles to himself.
“But that’s why everybody loves him,” Luka reply, trying to point out the pro, with a smile.
“And that’s why he’s going to turn into a pushover.” Yuu explained the con to her. Luka groaned in defeat.

The Atlas Forest——FallingSummer 42, 1967
So she got it, how clever of her. But too bad, I’m better. My ribs were fix and healed, my leg feels a lot better although I’m still choking blood. I walk my way back to the shrine of Clay. The sentinel stood at the shrine and stare at me, scanning.
“What is it, human?” He asks me in a blank, unemotional voice.
“The artifact was stolen.” I said to him, hoping that he would believe me. The guardian didn’t say anything; only listen.
“The Order has taken the artifact and is now showing it off to the world the godly relic.”
“What?!” The once quiet sentinel yells at me, “They will regret showing it, not even my god, Clay, will be happy with this. The Order will get no mercy!” After yelling, he look at me and request, “Human, will you join me?”
“What?”
“Will you join me, human?” He asks me again. His blue eyes seem to be glowing brightly. I could only nod to his request. The sentinel didn’t reply back but walk to me, grab my hand and hastily rush to Lekreet.

Lekreet——FallingSummer 44, 1967
It seems like the guardian was faster, it only took us two days to go to Lekreet. By the time we got there, everybody was already gone. The people have all went to the castle, celebrating. Hearing the chanting and noises only made the guardian angrier.
“Those filthy humans!” Without warning, he ran toward the castle with me on his back. As usual, air pressure smash against my face, I feel like I was being punched in the face repeatedly.
Stopping for a second, I look down on the ground, he’s crouching…
“Wait no, please don’t,” I beg him but soon my ears were covered by my scream. The guardian put all of his strength on to his legs and jumps as high as he could. All of the civilize people notice and gaze at the jumping guardian. He stretch his handless arm back and with force, he push it forward. The armored hand also went, smashing a part of the castle. The citizens then started to scream, panicking, and running for their lives. The jumping guardian then leaps his way over the walls of the castle. I fell off on the process. Hitting my back on the ground, I cried out in pain, “Gaah!!”
The sentinel jump down beside, grab my arm and pull me up, “Quickly, human, we must find the artifact and give it to the rightful person who should be holding it.”
“Y-yeah…” my voice started to crack up. The guardian then destroys a part of the castle and wave to me. I hobble my way there and went inside. I could only follow the guardian and sighed, “If he knew where it was, why can’t he just go and get it himself.” I babbled.
Walking down the halls, I can hear many screams; I really hope Luka isn’t here. The guardian stood in front of the door, lift his leg and kick it open. The doorway flew, splitting into two, and slam on to the ground. The sight made me sick, Luka was here. Guarding the king himself, holding tightly on to the artifact.
“Human, I will not hurt you if you give me back Clay’s artifact.”
Luka look in surprise and gasp, “You, you can talk!?”
“Any and everything can talk, I happen to understand your human language.” He put his hands closer to the king and repeated, “Human, I will not hurt you if you give me back Clay’s artifact.”
The king was too afraid to even move an inch. I look at Luka, hoping she won’t see me. It reminds me of the old days, when I use to hide from her a lot, it’s very useful. I saw Luka’s face, she seem willingly to obey the guardian’s order. She kneels down to the king and took off the armlet. Standing back up, she lifts up her arm, about to drop it on to the sentinel’s hand. She notices me behind the walls, out of anger she held a tight grip of the armlet and took steps backward.
“I would rather die than give you this.” She growl at him.
The sentinel sighs in disappointment, “So be it.”
He quickly jotted to Luka while his hands were getting ready to smash Luka from the sides. She took another jump backward and took out her sword. The guard repeated what he last did except this time Luka dash forward also. As she raise up her blade, ready to slash, the sentinel’s hand slam her down on to the ground. I can’t bear to see this anymore. Before the guard can slam her again, I dash to her side and block it with all my might. I can feel a muscle rip somewhere in my arm. The guardian stops as soon as he notices me.
“Why are you stopping me human?” He once again stares at me with those cold blue eyes. I look back at Luka, and pressing with both my thumb and index finger on her shoulder, she lost consciousness.
“I understand.” The sentinel repeated another one of his words. What does he mean?
He walks over to me, took the armlet and hand it over to me. As he walk away he said, “It must be hard… for you to live like this.”
I didn’t have time to ponder about his words but for now, I can only take Luka to safety.

Lekreet——FallingSummer 45, 1967
The sun shines brightly on her face as she frowned. Slowly opening her eyes only to close them back; she turn over and gaze at the room, seeing a boy with a bright golden hair, looking at her with his deep red eyes.
“Hey, Luka, how you’ve been?” The soft voice brush against her ear, she observe his every action and finally saying, “ton enif ta lla.”
I chuckled a bit, “ti smees ekil uoy nrael flesruoy eht aliviR egaugnal.”
“Yeah, haey s‘taht thgir, i ylno detnaw ot eb resolc ot ouy syug.” She gave me a warm smile; I couldn’t help but to smile back.
“Well, my time to look after you is over now that you’re awake. Good bye, Luka.”
“Edan,” her gentle voice cried out to me, “i evol ouy.”
I walk out of the door and put back my bandana on. Even if the bandana was covering my mouth, I couldn’t help but smile the whole way through. This is the only time I can ever heard Luka like that. Now I really wish I can get this finish a lot faster.

Central——FallingSummer 48, 1967
I’m tired… so I decided to rent an inn and flung myself on to the bed. Taking off the bandana, I doze off into a deep sleep.

By the time Luka and the soldiers got to the shrine, she saw Yuu coming out with a serious injure on his arm.
She asks what happened, Yuu can only yell out in anger, “Edan stab my arm and took Shylem’s artifact with him, he’s a traitor!”
The look on Luka’s face, she broke down in tears. Yuu looks at her and snarl at her, “Face it Luka, he left and that’s that. Get over it.” Luka couldn’t accept it. She ran back to the house and went to her room. She opens the door and walk to the cupboard, taking out the armlet she made her for herself and Edan.
“Please… Edan… please don’t tell me this is true…” She hugs the armlet tightly but with too many force, she broke the armlet. As the piece shatter and fall down on to the ground, so did her heart. At a time like this, I couldn’t do anything. I could only stand behind the walls and hear her cries.

I awoke in tears, sweating from the dream. I shook my head many times, saying to myself that I must bear with this.
“Only a bit sooner, only… too much time.”
I took in deep breaths and lay back down on the bed and started a prayer.
“My goddess, Shylem, please watch over me.”

It's been a long time since I wrote the Rivila language and it's very hard.
The Rivila language is just words backward for you who didn't read the prologue. Shame on you >:[

If you plan to continue, you should really stick to one tense.
