Sorry I haven't posted in so long. Had a bit going on but I'm back :) Are we saying Carrie was let out? If she decides to join she broke probation?
Andi Koren

Andi followed everyone in, keeping a small eye on The Priest and Gabby. She was now making The Priest her project, she had always had a thing for Catholic boys and he seemed like he had some power in here with the guards and such. She needed all the power behind her she could get and if she got a little action in between she wouldn't complain. She was waiting for free time in the court yard, after class. She would make her move on him then, she decided. Planning how to make her move would be the fun part. That will be what she learns in class today, none of that fifth grade bullshit. She passed Lisa in the hustle to get inside and nodded to her, "Hey kid. Feeling better?" She asked with a twinge of trouble in her eyes left over from plotting.

As far as Carrie is concerned, she'll just become an NPC. That's role-play speak for a none playing character which means everyone is free to involve her in their posts so long as you stay true to the profile created for her. She'll stay in the background but whatever our characters do, she'll be doing it too. So if our characters decide to break out, she'll break out with them, if they go to math class, she'll go to math class, just hovering in the background. The same goes for any other character that becomes inactive.

Apologies for the delay in posting but I'm finding my lack of a working computer increasingly difficult. Feel free to have the inmates be taught another subject or return to the halls for lunch.

Vivian | After football

Vivian kicked up a cloud of dust. It wasn't that he was annoyed, he just felt like giving kick. Mr. Reynolds eyed him with a stern look. He ignored him. He looked back to see Reggie alone. He wondered what he spoke to the girl with the short brown hair. He wondered who she was and how on earth she got a scar like that. He decided to ask Kisa. Kisa and Viv weren't really good friends but they had silently accepted this mutual pact of talking in class.
They formed a single file. It was expected of them. Aiden was at the front. Reggie at the end. Somehow, that didn't surprise him. Reg seemed to enjoy watching people.
"After a break, please return to the classroom. Don't plan in skipping the next hour," said Mr. Reynolds. You could see he was tired of this life.
The girl separated from the boys as they turned left to their changing rooms. He saw the girl walk in with Carrie by her side. He looked away.

Viv took his place next to Kisa. She gave a smile and continued to talk to Lisa behind them. Obviously, it had to be about Reggie. What else? Thought Vivian.

Mr. Reynolds walked in. He had a large book in one hand and carried a fistful of chalk in the other.
"Okay. We're going to continue Trigonometry in math now."

Reginald "Reggie/The Priest" Carter

I had not anticipated that the walk into maths would be as quiet as it was. Despite the obvious churn of mumbling amongst the Juvies, I was curious as to why the majority of the class bathed in silence. Mr Reynolds for the first, in probably a long time, had some surge of confidence in his newly commended authority. I took a seat right up the front on a row with four seats to two desks. Chance and Tobias sat on the desk adjacent to mine, as they always did. The three of us were odd, in a sense. I was the Catholic boy with the experience of the mob, but with the physical intimidation of a fairly light weight young man, but with the mental intimidation of a resurrected Ghandi. The other two were like the opposites. They weren't dumb, nor were they intelligent. They prided themselves on their physical appearance and superiority. I had atleast noticed that Chance did anyway. The both of them were like glue, a pariring fixed in heavenly love of friendship. Clearly not in a homosexual sense, but the clarity of their bonds in friendship couldn't be misinterpretted.

Interestingly, I had always chosen to sit alone. It wasn't because he had a disgust for people, or because people had a disgust for him, but merely because he felt it suit himself better. He was a man who liked to be left alone with his own thoughts, undisturbed by the impregnable stupidity of another soul sitting by him. However, for some reason or another, the new boy - Nick Brown - had sought to change my mind and parked himself confidently in the chair beside me. Tobias and Chance shot him and me a look. It was alien to them and in a way they felt as though they'd needed to protect my privacy. I couldn't tell the two what to do or why to do it, but the level of trust I'd built between the three of us had secured me their protection based solely on human instinct of being indebted to another. I waved my hand to them as if to dismiss their clear concerns and looked at my new neighbour, Nick Brown.

"Hmm, Nick Brown, isn't it?" I asked among the murmurs of a settling class.

"Yeah, that's right. You're the Priest guy aren't you?" he replied, his self-confidence still staying strong.

"Name is Reggie. But yes, I am a religious man."

I turned to the front, to find Mr Reynolds attempting to simmer down his class of Juvenile misfortunates. It was interesting when the flesh on his face turned a light reddy-pink as the angry hormones of his middle age began to boil within him. It was the naturalistic human nature of inevitable break down of control over one's emotions. He yelled at the class with an emphusiasm that schocked the majority into silence. Then, with a fake, self-assuring grin, he returned to his preachings of trigonometry as if they were ever to be of use to men of the prisons.

What an ever interesting man he was.

Kisa V.

I walked over and sat at my seat. Lisa was sitting, staring at the pencil she was twirling between her fingers. I frowned and tapped the desk to interrupt her from her daze.

"Hey."

She looked at me with the same expression she had had on her face on the field. I wondered if these people even knew that I could talk.

"Hi," she said, sitting up from her slouch.

I looked around a bit, tapping the desk and nodding my head as if listening to music. Then I saw the reverend walk in and was reminded of what I wanted to talk to her about.

"Listen, I've been here a long time," I said, trying to be quiet as Viv walked and took his seat next to me. I smiled at the gesture of friendship. We were cool. He was one of the only mates in this place I could stand. "I know what's up with everyone. Rev isn't a cool guy. He's started a cult or something -- I don't know. But I do know that after he approaches someone like he did you today, something happens to the people he talks to. They change, and only spend time trailing his footsteps like a duck."

"Why do you care?" she asked, still staring at her pencil. Apparently I was the only one who liked to make eye contact.

"Pshh, I don't care about you." I flipped my hair. "I care about who runs this place. And it won't be anyone other than me."

I turned around, not wishing for any more conversation with the oblivious Lisa, who still had a cigarette in her pocket. I loved it when the inmates thought it was cool to still do illegal things inside of this place.

"Hey," Viv said, turning his body to my direction. "Nice playing out there."

I nodded. "Likewise."

"So..." He looked at the girl with the short, dark brown hair and light eyes. "What do you know about Gabby?"

I smiled. Obviously he knew where to get information around here. I leaned in close, speaking in soft words so that not even Lisa could hear. "I heard that on the verge of rape, she tried to kill a man." Vivian's eyes opened wide. Yeah, you sympathize with her, because you have no idea what happened to me. "And she was also convicted for stealing, but who cares about that here, right?" I chuckled a bit, and he pretended to laugh along.

"Yeah. I meant more specific though. I saw this giant scar on her shoulder." I shot my eyes over to her. Something I didn't know? She was keeping a well-kept secret.

I shook my head. "No idea. But I'm not afraid to ask."

Mahrissa M.

I had been quite these past few days; keeping out of trouble. Since I threw the punches at Carrie and got myself electrified by the stupid security bracelet, i had been a little tender. It wasnt that i couldnt take it, more that i knew that another detention and the after affects werent really worth it.

Sitting in class was one of the times i actually looked forward too; not that i payed attention to what Mr. Reynolds said, more that i got to spend some time with the kids at Darkmoor.

To tell the truth, it kind of got lonely around here. Expecially when Carrie hated me, Click and Katrina avoided me like i was the plague, Andi, Kisa, Aiden and Jada only talked to me when they chose to and Lisa was more of a keep to herself kind of girl in here. Gabby was the only person i could call a friend. The guys werent unatractive.Chance definetly had something going for him, and its not like i minded the occasional sly staring act he gave us girls. Reggie (the Priest) was a tad strange in my opinion, but i treated him with the same respect he treated me- it was kind of like we both had a understanding that people could have their own opinions, so we didnt really bug each other too much. Viv seemed to me like he always wanted information out of me; like it was the only reason we chatted some days, Tobias was the same. There was always the new kid i guess... what was his name? Nick, i think.

Gabby and i were in seats beside each other, keeping up a reasonably silent converstion while Reynolds blabbered on about hell knows what.
"He keeps looking back this way, what do you think his problem is..." Gab asked me, her eyes practactly boring a hole into the back of Viv's head.
"I dunno," i whispered, then flashed her an evil grin that i had perfected in my two years in Darkmoor. "...Ya wanna find out?"
"Yes," he replyed, her eyes lighting up as i ripped a scrap piece of paper from my book.

Dearest Vivian,
Gabby here, has a problem with ya staring...
What the hell is ya problem, boy?
Yours psychotically, M.

I folded the paper into a plane and flew it the few desks it needed to reach Viv and Kisa.
Within seconds the plane was shot straight back at us, Reynolds not aware.

Thank you for noticing Mahrissa.
Gabby. Tell me about the giant of a scar on your shoulder.

Instantly, i knew that there wouldnt be a reply to Viv. Gabby's scar was not something that she liked to talk about. We shared most things, but when it came to the scar that would be forever carved into her skin and the tattoo the tainted her skin... she got defencive.

Gabriella Jumped to her feet and stormed towards the door. "I need the toilet," she spat at the guard who actually allowed her out and followed her to only god knows, becasue she definetly wasnt in need of the bathroom, just some air.

I didn’t follow her. I wasn’t sure what would happen if I did, but right now she was filled with enough negative emotion that she could try to kill me, just like her boyfriend. I was in no mood for beating her skinny ass in a punch up, I was also in no mood for being zapped by my stupid security bracelet.
Today im happier than a bird with a french fry ;)

Tobias LaBelle

Mathematics; such a logical, extraordinary subject and while Chance spent the lesson throwing gazes at the girls, Tobias had eyes only for the numbers. He didn't listen particularly well to Mr. Reynold's explanations, but the numbers played games in his head, adding themselves, multiplying. They ducked and dived through sums that seemed to Tobias very like the way the world worked. A balance of equations. That was all it was. You took something out of the world: a person, a unit and then you had to make up for it on the other side.

Huh, what, where? Blinking, Tobias turned to glance at Chance and then down at the piece of paper the other boy was cramming into his hand. What, what was it? Was it for Tobias to read? He guessed so. Unfolding it discreetly, his eyes fell on the words and grew wide. Who was it from? One of the girls perhaps, one of them? Toby thought he knew the boys well enough to expect better of them. Better. Was it such a bad idea? Tobias read the note again.

Pass it along. Whoever wants to leave here, read and nod and no - don't look for me. I will find you.

Toby looked to Chance, had his pal nodded, would he leave? The burly boy was giving him an awkward, questioning look. Chance had probably nodded, he wasn't the type to think things through. To think of all the dangers, all the complications. And now he was giving Toby an inquiring, pleading look. Chance didn't want to leave him behind but did Tobias want to go? He didn't know. What he did know though was that if he didn't nod now, he'd still have a chance because he had Chance. There was another equation in itself.

"Check it out," Toby whispered to his desk mate. "Tell me after." And then, without nodding, he made eye contact with Reggie and smuggled the note across. The Priest would probably have something to say about that.

Reggie "The Priest" Carter

I took the note from Tobias, who eagerly tried to force himself back into the world of numbers which seemed to have gripped his eyes ever since he placed his butt on his seat. I looked down at the note and firstly acknowledged the implied immaturity of the shitty handwriting that had been used to write it. Sure, it wasn't hard to make it out, but it still appeared as a messy squiggle attempt of constructing words. I smiled as I read it. A paranoid little Juvie knew how to escape, eh? For some reason I broke into a laugh in the quiet mumbling and the class looked at me. Mr Reynolds also took the moment as a privaliage to assert his authority.

"Mr Carter, what's so funny?" he inquired.

"I'd be lying if I said nothing, Sir," I began, "but I'd also be stupid to answer your question. Luckily, sir, the moment is quite over now. Feel free to continue, and you won't hear no more disturbance from me."

Mr Reynolds took the offer of silence as good enough and left the reason for my sudden laughing at absence. I knew the note was serious - all the eager little brats in this hell hole were serious when they came up with the slightest plausible idea for escape. One thing I couldn't deny was the obvious human instinct of overpowering curiosity. I grinned and penciled a reply under the note, thickening it to a bold obvious statement.

Pass it along. Whoever wants to leave here, read and nod and no - don't look for me. I will find you.

Count us in

I passed it back to Tobias and grinned, before nodding as if to gesture to him to pass it around the others as well. Then, I returned to my silent conflict.

I wrote the note and passed it to Chance a couple desks away from me. Now I would wait and watch. I'd be lying if I said I had an escape plan yet but I'd have one soon. I had originaly told myself that I was going to just do my time, ten years, not so bad right? However the thought of spending ten years locked up with assholes likes Reggie made ten years seem a lot longer. Chance nodded, good another guy that looked like he could handle himself in a fight, Tobias didn't nod but it was clear he was thinking about it. Reggie nodded ,good a fall guy If the guards were closing in on us during the escape he would take the fall whether as a willing matyr or a necessary sacrifice. Chance was looking around nervously, checking who was nodding their heads. Good I could ask him who had. I put my head down on the desk. Afterall every good escape has to start with a plan.

*sorry it short, I just came up with the escape but I will take up a whole post so...*

Gabby:

Once I was outside, I sat down and put my head on my knees, staring blankly at a wall. Why did he have to ask that? Anything but my scar or my tattoo. I rubbed my shoulder--the one with the scar. As my fingers brushed against the raised edge, I remembered how I'd gotten it. My ex taking a lighter to the skin. I shook my head, ignoring the guard still lurking nearby and hugged myself.

It wasn't worth it, worrying over something like this. Then again, it was him. Vivian. After a while, I sighed and looked up. Time to head back, I guess. The guard looked bored. I just shrugged and got up, dusting off and heading back inside. The conversation with Reggie, The Priest as he liked to call himself, was interesting. It involved me telling him to mind his own business and then Mr. Reynolds telling us to head inside.

I didn't know what to do now. Pretty much everyone had seen the scar, I'd have to tell someone eventually. Reluctantly, I returned to class and sat down next to Mahrissa again. The class was pretty quiet, except for Mr. Reynolds, who was practically yelling the lesson at us. I tried to tune him out as a note was passed to me. I stared at it for a second, then nodded. What the hell? Why not take the risk.

Sorry that I haven't posted in so long guys. :) But I'm determined to be more involved from today!

Aiden Omi

I was staring at Mr Reynolds. I hated Maths. It was the only subject I had consistently gotten a C in in school. I was trying desperately to figure out my most hated subject, when a note landed on my desk. I looked around, but no one was looking in my direction. Odd.

I picked the note up. It was a quick, short scrawl, but I stared at it for a long time. Escape. When hadn't I thought of it? It was the last thing my mother had said to me before she disowned me, that I shouldn't escape and mess her name up even more. But I couldn't spend five more years in this place. The sentence was too long. Just too long. I swallowed and I nodded, and then I passed it on.

Escape. The word rang around in my head. Escape. I could see Alice's face behind my closed eyelids. Escape . I could see my freedom.

During My planing I drifted into sleep. This guys voice was really boring.
I Pushed open the door to my council flat. I'd bought it from the poor drugy that lived here 80,000 quid and 10 kilos of coke. This probably wasn't a great deal considering a kilo went for 50,000 on the market. However I knew a guy that brought it in on the cargo ships for the Russian. The russian always brought in twice as much as he needed this meant that even if half of the load got caught he'd still have enough to sell and make profit with this meant that is a few kilo when missing know one minded. My mate mate on the cargo ship had sold me the kilos for £1000 quid each. Sounds like a lot of money to a normal criminal, sounds a lot to a normal person, Killing people payed good, really good. I liked to think that the drugy had sold the drugs and used the money to get himself out truth was he'd probably used it all up and blown the money on even more drugs.

The flat might of been in a shity estate but the inside was full of the only the nicest things. Hell the couch was from Harrods and had cost more than the tv. I hadn't bought it though. When I bought it I'd let my girl furnish it. She'd been so happy, afterall she hated her farther and had thought she would have to put up with him for a lot longer. It wasn't the house of party that Hals was but it was homey and good for getting away from it all. Sasha, my girl, walks in shes wearing a pretty dress revealing but classy. I've told her we were going to be going to one of the russians club with Hal for a private party the Russian was having but after what Hal told me I'm not taking her any were near the Russian. Here it comes the memory I hate the most, worst than the image of my mother being gunned down my guys that were sent because of me, worst than the image of my sister when as a blubering wreak she confessed that she had been raped by her boyfriend. This was it.....

Mr Reynolds hit be on the back of the head with a rolled up book. Not hard enough to hurt but hard enough to wake me up.

"Only your third day here and your already becoming a pain, if you can't focus in class you can focus in detention" Mr Reynolds said angrily before trudging to the front of his class and started to drone on again. I started to fiddle with my pen lid taking it to pieces and putting it back again. I pushed the plastic cap out of the end of the lid with the tip of my pen their was a spring attached to it. Idea I took the spring of and put the plastic cap back in. It worked just as well with out the spring. eureka.

Lisa Miller

Math was one of things that Lisa hated more than anything else in the world. Teachers constantly stressed about how Math was so important, but Lisa didn't see why. To her, it was just so stupid. Like, who would want to find the volume of a double-scoop ice cream that they bought? Today, the class was especially worse because of her scramble with Reggie on the football field. As they were coming in, Lisa had tried to fight back tears and had ignored everyone that tried to talk to her. Couldn't they see that she just wanted to be alone? After what had happened, the least that she could hope for was Science or History-two subjects she actually liked and did well in.

She wished she could have her cigarette right now. She ran her finger down to her pocket and felt it, taking satisfaction from feeling the lump and knowing that it was there. She thought about going to use the bathroom, but then remembered that the guards would accompany you there. Granted, it was only to the door, but Lisa didn't want to take the risk of them smelling it anyway. She barely, just barely concentrated on her Math problems, instead thinking about Andi and Kisa. Andi seemed like she would be a good friend. Just maybe. For cigarettes, possibly? But Kisa...she seemed nice, and had actually tried to start a conversation with her. And she couldn't help but notice that the difference between their names was only one letter.

Lisa sighed. Was she getting soft or unreasonably high expectations? It didn't matter, she decided. She wasn't going to get through math class just thinking. So she decided to write two notes, one to Andi and one to Kisa. She saw others doing the same and also saw that Mr. Renyolds wasn't really noticing.

On Andi's, she wrote: Hey. Want to sit together at lunch? Will you bring more cigarettes? On Kisa's, she wrote: Hi. Sorry for how I acted out on the football pitch. You seem really nice and I want to try to be friends.. The latter she could barely write, as her wrist was shaking. She saw it because the letters looked all squiggly and much less neat then her usual handwriting.

Kisa

I was taking notes on logarithms when two notes came my way from both sides. I read the one that Viv had passed to me first, because I didn't know where the second one came from and decided that that made it more interesting.

I smiled as a read it. An escape? I knew that this place would make people crazy, but I didn't know it made them stupid, too. They thought that hopping over the fence in a big group in the middle of the night was going to work? I had talked with the guards, made deals with them, learned all of the vents and escape routes, but never declared I was dumb enough to attempt it. For one, being caught trying to escape will just lengthen your term, and for two, it seemed impossible.

However, it posed as a great opportunity for me. I had never spoken to these inmates outside of football before. But there was something about the exchange in the cafeteria that morning that made me hope that things were changing. So I decided to show, maybe offer some tips (but only if the 'plan' actually seemed stationary).

I nodded and passed it on. Then I read the second one. "I want to be friends with you"? I almost read aloud. It was disgusting, the note. An act of kindness, sure. But it sounded like it came from a child. I simply erased the words, balled it up and threw it at Aiden's head.

Something hit me on the side of the head. I knew only Kisa would throw it, but when I looked round at her she gave me such a glare that I backed down and turned away. As I did I could of sworn that I saw Lisa frown at Kisa, but she looked away fast.

I went back to fantasizing about escape. Once I was out, I couldn't go home, or, now that I thought of it, to Alice's place either. I'd have to become a fugitive; we all would. But it was better than staying in this dump. Far better.

I looked at the Priest; he would probably try to put himself in charge of us as he always did. Heck, he had probably been planning an escape of his own for ages.

I sighed and turned back to Mr. Reynolds. I couldn't wait for Maths to be over. If there was one subject I enjoyed, it was History.
