An intimidated newbie here...

Well. I've been wanting to join a writing group for a while, to try to get over my fear of letting other people read my writing...but I'm a bit intimidated by it.

I know what you mean... I've been writing since I was eight, and refused to show anything to anyone ever until last year. Took a lot to come out of my shell, but I was really happy once I did. You would not believe how much I've improved.
YWS is a great community- lots of support and friendly (virtual) faces.

Heh, I know how you feel. But, seriously, no need to be worried - YWS is a place full to the brim with awesome.

I know what you mean; I'm still unwilling to show anything I've written to my parents. XD But YWS is the perfect place to come because it's a really friendly community, plus you get tons of useful critiques.

I do indeed! I have only seen disjointed bits and pieces of season 5, but what I've seen so far is awesome. Matt Smith is very strange compared to David Tennant, but I like him more and more every episode I see him in.

So, don't worry about being scared, everyone is like that. Well...not everyone but I know I was!
I hesitated for about two weeks or something before I actually posted something on here but in the end I was happy that people were actually replying to it and taking time to fix my errors and give me advice to grow as a writer.
Anyway, this is a great community and everyone's super friendly so don't worry too much. I'll be looking out for your work! Yay! Yeah, he's grown on me a lot. At first I really missed David Tennant but now I've decided Matt Smith is amazing. It's definitely worth watching the whole season because the overarching plot is really clever.

I still miss David Tennant (I cried when I watched The End Of Time...)
Can't wait for season 5 to come out on DVD.
