Hi, I thought I'd post some of my fashion design. I mostly like to do bizarre-but-pretty, impractical costume design, with my character as the model. PS, I need a name for the character. Any ideas? :)

Hey,

I think a name like Kayla if I am being honest.

I liked them and though they were pretty. I think the second one is better but I liked it all the same. Well the outfit was better for actual person I would say the first one. XD

Hi Mangawolf! It is so cool that you're into fashion design! I really like your character. And I agree with Retrodisco666 -- Kayla does seem like a good name for her. The boots almost look like Uggs. Maybe you could label the materials or color them in so it's easier to envision how they would look on an actual person.

As for the second picture, is it the same character? I think you're about ready to outfit Lady GaGa!

Keep drawing!

Hey mangawolf, here to review!

I agree with the retro as well in saying that Kayla seems like a fitting name.

The first one is quite cool, I love the shoulder ting you've go going on with the top. However, it looks like if this character moves, it's just going to come off. Also in some parts the lines are really rough and it makes the whole thing look messy. I love what you've done with the hair. I agree with agigail in saying it would be better to colour it in.

As for the second one it's the same person, right? I like your style of drawing a lot, it's quite original. Unlike the other one, this seems more natural and all the lines are smooth. The patterns that you've put on it are very interesting, but they should be consistent through the whole outfit. So maybe you could turn those stars on the gloves to circles or vice versa. You don't have to though ;). My only other nitpick iss that the nose is a bit odd. Like it would be better if you flipped it upside down or something.

I enjoyed these! Keep at it!

Hi mangawolf,

First, I must say it is good to see another guy that enjoys fashion design.
Now about your work, the first design I like the top but I the pants and the boots I really don't care for all that much. I like the top because it follow an asymmetrical cut which make it much more interesting than just a plain old top. The splatter effect also add to the look making it more appealing to the eyes. The pants on the other hand seem just a bit dull compared to the shirt, I don't know if you were going for a simple solid color pair of jeans but I think it would look better if she were wearing a faded wash style instead so that the flow from the shirt to the pants connect. I do agree that the boots do resemble Uggs which isn't that bad doesn't seem to fit the outfit all that well. I would go with something a shorter than knee highs.

The second piece does look like something Lady Gaga would wear though I am not a fan of what she wears it is a nice piece. You used the same asymmetrical cut as the first outfit and added a bit more to it and of course made it sparkle. If you want to look for good reference at impractical fashion with similar style I would suggest looking at Alexander McQueen's work, Vivienne Westwood, Yves Saint Laurent, and Hirooka Naoto.

Thanks for the comments y'all! Her name is now Kayla; thanks for the idea! ^_^ It's good to hear some feedback and tips. As for being a guy, I won't say if I am or not, but why do you think I am since I didn't specify as such? :) And yes, they are the same character, she just looks different sometimes.
