I watch them,
Silently,
Quietly,
Not bothering to say anything more.
How ridiculous they look,
As they flounce about,
Flirting,
Twirling their hair.
And the boys,
Because they're only that,
They sneak a peck,
Try to hold hands under the table.
They waste the words,
Like "I love you" doesn't count.
They waste the kisses,
Like they don't mean a thing.
"Leah," they sigh,
"You wouldn't understand.
You've never been in love,
You wouldn't know how it feels."
"You haven't either!"
I try to shout out.
It's hormones flaring,
They're just naive.
But it's okay,
I'm sensible.
Always have been,
Always will be.
Middle school relationshipes,
They don't work out.
But will they listen to me?
No, they think I'm a downer!
Well they'll learn,
They'll soon figure it out.
Heartbreak may seem like a crime,
But they're the true robbers of childhood.
And when I'm all alone,
Reading my book,
They're texting their "boyfriends".
They don't have a care in the world.
But when they discover,
That I've been right this whole time,
They'll be sorry,
Because they never listened.
I may just be frustrated,
I may just be sad,
But I don't care,
I'm not the one getting hurt.
Please review, it really means a lot to me...
