Hey there. :) I'm Sydney, a seventeen year old novel writer.

My best friend sent me a message telling me to join this site pronto about an hour ago...and here I am!

I've been joining different kinds of writers' communities since I was about twelve and staunchly believe that they are the best kinds of communities out there. Except possibly ninja communities, in which case they're a close second.

Nice to meet y'all!

Aha! First welcome! (Suckers.)

Allo there, new member. I am the Ninja (behold and beware! MUAHAHA!) and am willing to help you out with anything. And who's your friend?

And, as a fellow novelist, count on me for anything you need, plotwise. What genres are you into?

Anyway, feel free to ask us anything, and check out our forums. We tend to be able to give good advice (unless you're really bad, which I doubt you are) and... yeah!

So, hey. Welcome to YWS!
hey, Jude, don't make it bad
take a sad song and make it better
remember to let it into your heart
then you can start
to make it better.

Thanks very much! And also: hello!

And also: your avatar is fabulous!

My friend be Rachael Elg...she's floating around here somewhere.

All of my novels are fantasy. Usually urban, though I'm prising myself out of it with my current project (sob, I miss it!). My shorter stuff is usually gearing more towards realism.

And yourself? Are there a lot of fantasy writers 'round these here parts?

Rachael Elg is indeed floating about here somewhere :D And, she's very glad Sydney's here.

You know what they say, about how a good friend'll bail you out of jail, but how a best friend'll help you bury the body?

About that...

Welcome to YWS! Your name just happens to have one of my favorite things in it: coffee! I love coffee, I honestly could not function without it! Well, anyway, I hope you have a great time here and I'm glad that Elgg referred you to come here. You will come to find out that the community is great! So, a few questions:
Favorite color?
Favorite band/singer?
Favorite book?
Favorite thing to wear?

Bleh, that's all from me! Hope you have a great time and, if you have any questions, it's best to ask the people in green but I'll also try my best to help out.

Sydney! Hello there! Your arrival has launched me out of inactivity.

(Also, I love your username.)

Hi there, Ladymask and ReisePiecey (whose username reminds me of one of my favorite things-- Reese's Pieces)!

Fancy seeing you here, Rachael. :D

I pulled my username from one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands, Modest Mouse. Which brings me to the questions!

Favorite color...I'm a fan of green. Also purple. But not at the same time, as that would be Barney-esque.
Favorite band we sort of already did.
Favorite book...it's always what I'm reading at the moment, which is GRRM's A Song of Ice and Fire (not for the first time.)
Favorite thing to wear: pajamas!

You didn't tell me you were rereading GRRM. This makes me sad.

Well, I only started yesterday. :)

But I find them inspirational for novel writing. That massive, unfinished world, y'know.

I guess so. Though, I better not try reading them myself. I'll get all messed up again.

...hehe, we're thieving your welcome thread!

I'm hopping into the thievery!

....except that I've clearly killed it, which makes me a massive failure as a hijacker. Not even time for a ransom.
