Hello everyone! :)

I suppose I should start by saying I'm not really conventional. I'm probably the only person who enjoys ice cream at 3 A.M. after a successful writing session while cackling at old episodes of Arrested Development. Most people are probably sleep by then :) . I can be sporadic, at best, and spontaneous. My loves range from marathons of The Office and Felicity, to trading reading for sleep. For the most part, I try to do what makes me happy. I enjoy writing Fantasy and Sci-Fi stories, but will read almost anything (provided it's not too scary. Yeah, I'm a wuss, haha). Romance is also a big plot thread in my writing, but I despise the cliche (no man on a white horse riding off into the sunset in my story. No sir!). The main goal of my stories are to bend the lines between race, gender and establish solid identities within my characters. To me, the best characters transcend stereotypes and are unique in their own way. I can't wait to start reviewing stories on here! I don't know when I'll have the courage to post my own work, but I look forward to meeting and befriending all of you guys!

Oh, and in the spirit of the upcoming football season for my University: Go Bears! :D

Hello, Jeno! I'm going to call you Jenn though.

Oh, honey, I'm never asleep by 3 A.M. I'm an insomniac, so I feel your pain! Oh, I just love reading and romance and, by the looks of this post, you seem really cool. Taking into consideration that you're a whole five years older than me, I still hope we can get along! If you have any questions, it's best to ask the nice people in green or someone whose been here for a while.

I really hope you like it here, this place is really amazing! You know where to find me if you have anything to say. And, if you don't, it's on my profile!

ReisePiecey,

Jenn works fine (and I love Jeno! No one has ever called me that.) Yay for insomniacs and romance :D! It's nice to find someone else with the same interests. Okay, excuse my grammar crime, but five, schmive! I don't worry about silly things like age. Trust me, I know people older than you who act more foolish than they should :). I think we'll get along just fine! What do you write, out of curiosity?

I write mostly romance, fantasy, and re-makes of the classics. I'm working on a little re-make of the modern fairy tales right now, but I'm also starting on an outline for a little romantic fantasy. I had a story that I started about the Italian Mafia, but that's being put on hold simply because I need to find out how long it takes to drive from California to Florida.

I understand you answered the question about the type of tings you wrote about, but are their any pieces you're working on currently?

Oh, nice! I don't know if this helps, but I was watching Jimmy Kimmel the other night and he interviewed a family that had driven from FL to his show. Since Jimmy tapes his show in CA, he asked how long it took them to get there. There was only one adult driving and he said it took them 3 1/2 weeks. Maybe that's close? Depends on how many stops are made, etc.

I am working on something right now! I'm a quarter of the way finished with the draft of a novel I started, but it's VERY rough. Needs a lot of work. I'm also in the process of revising a short fantasy story. It's about an orphan whose "civic duty" is to take the place of missing people in society. Each day, she is "assigned" to a new place and, of course, something interesting happens on the day I choose to tell her story. :)

You're welcome! I'm planning on posting it here after I do a few reviews and polish it up a bit. Still nervous about it, though. I really haven't let anyone read my writing outside my family, but I definitely think it's great to get feedback from others!

No insomnia here, but I can certify as to your not being the only person to enjoy a good little 3AM snack: most of my best writing was done somewhere between 1 and 4AM. I also support the reading > sleeping motion.

Anyway. Welcome to YWS! It's great to see you so interested in reviewing :P That said, don't be afraid to set your own pieces free - we don't bite. Mostly. And your stories sound like they'd be quite an interesting read.

Also, if you find the time and the inclination, come take a look around the Chatroom! It's a great way to know people around here.
