Hi there!

It's E. from Turkey. I'm a student at an Anatolian High School in Istanbul.

First, there's a little point that i feel like it's necessary to explain. Student of an Anatolian High, studies foreign languages more than the other high schools. We don't educate English or something of course but, there are 37 lessons in a week and we see twelve lessons English in a week.

Whatever, let me introduce myself.

I am interested in writing poems or stories since I was seven. After I read the Harry Potter series when i was seven, i started to write very ridiculous fan fictions about it.

I usually like writing one-shot stories, because I'm not so patient to write a long story.

I'm here because of two reasons. First of all I want to improve my writing skills. Secondly, I want to improve my English.

So, i'm here (:

You've certainly come to a good place to practice both writing and English; as a non-first-language-English speaker, I can attest to the fact that there's little better for those skills than having a nice, fun community to help you improve :P

What sort of stories do you write? Any genre you like more than the others? (also hello fellow fanfiction writer. I've been there as well - actually, I still dabble in it every now and then).

A little suggestion for starting out: try reviewing others' works even as you put your own up, and, if you feel like meeting people, come say hi in the chatroom! It may be dead every now and then, but it's a great way to start making friends on the site. We don't bite, promise :P

Hello, Umii! Welcome to Yws!

My first language is French so I can understand the hassle in learning English, even though I had my mom to help me being that she was from the states originally. She only moved to France and that's where mom met dad. Bleh, I don't won't to go into a full fledged story of my life now though. But my English is pretty good. I think I have it down packed by now, though. I do, after all, live in the states. I hope your English does improve and I really do hope you stay here. The community is amazing.

I almost forgot answering your question. Err, i'm not sure that's the right word but usually essays or something. There's not a fix genre that i love writing or reading, it depends what i feel then. Sometimes i write poems - which are so long - but sometimes i prefer writing proses... But i don't like reading poems, yeah.

This is a great place to learn and improve and have fun.

I too like to write poetry and fanfiction; I find fanfiction is a great cure for writer's block, though I always get frustrated with the characters.

@Glimmerglass yes, i can see that (: Here's awesome, absolutely xD And forget about the characters, they like Play d'Oh or something like that! You can do whatever you want with them. Even you don't like them after a few chapters, you can change them. Well, i say that but i cannot say i can do it too (: There are many fan fictions i started to write and give up.

As soon as i write something in English i will post here, promise. And i think it'll be in a very short time.
