Helpful Hints

Everyone has trouble remembering all their characters. all their bad guys, and all that specific stuff. if you don't, well, i wish i were you. for the rest of you, who, like me, need a little help, this might work.
POWERPOINTS
make multiple sections, for example-
CHARACTERS-
LOCATIONS-
EVENTS-
and in each section, put what you need to remember.
in characters put one slide for one character-
name, age, eye color, b-day, all the important stuff to begin with.
find pictures for each important thing in your story- a picture of a creepy black eyed dude for a bad guy, or whatever your specific person, place, event resembles.
you can elaborate on these however much you want. i use PowerPoint's for editing, writing, reviewing, anything i need.
its a very useful tool for a writer and it has always worked for me (good way to think up idea's too).

There are also programs like yWriter that exist specifically to help writers organize everything related to their story. I suggest looking around a little to find one that you like and can afford.

Powerpoint isn't actually free. It just comes with programs such as Word that are often standard for a PC, but I know some people who don't have it. Powerpoint also comes separately from any Macs' applications, so it's not on everybody's computer (although a lot of people with macs have keynote [Macs' Powerpoint] or powerpoint itself. But you can't count on every computer having it.

I also find notebooks just a tinny bit safer. Powerpoints can get lost when your computer crashes. It's also another thing you have to back up. Paper, so long as you keep it in a place you'll remember, rarely needs to be backed up. It's also a bit more convenient for me to flip through a notebook.

That being said, this is an interesting way of organizing info. Hope it helps somebody, and glad it helps you. ^^ I'm just saying it's not the only option out there.

My best friend uses the notebook way, i used to but i kept losing the notebooks <---(i'm very unorganzied;) there are hundreds of ways to organize, new ones are being thought up every day! i actually have my powerpoint on a zip dirve i know what crashing computers are like. i have everything on a zip drive,my story, powerpoints, works cited (for reference), they are a great investment and mine was only 4dollars!
