I'm Kyle, a 17 year old writer - and this certainly looks like a good place for me. I tend to write shortish short stories or longish flash fiction, which generally falls under the "literary" category. That said, I don't pidgeonhole myself and I've been known to write longer pieces and some genre fiction stuff. I also play the guitar and spend hours upon hours each winter rehearsing for musicals. (As a rule, I tend to avoid sports.) It looks like it's a great community here, and I look forward to doing some critiquing and some meet-n'-greeting.
I'm Vanadis, or Freyja--whichever, here to give you a nice, warm welcome to YWS!
I hope you're finding everything okay, but if not, there's always the questions and answers forum (under Community.) If you need to, you could PM me with anything, and I'll be happy to try and help you.
Yay for short stories! I can't wait to check some of them out, and will be happy to give you a critique if you need one. So what genres do you enjoy reading and writing?
I love musicals, too. I used to do them in high school now and then, along with flag corps and show choir--I also avoided sports. I prefer the creativity of other things.
Anyway, nice to meet you, and hope to see you around! -Freyja

Need someone to review your novel? Why don't you try checking here? Buddy up!
Just ignore the child, he's having a hard time; everyone keeps beating him to the first post! That's right all you welcomers, it's on! Just you wait, I'm going to pull on my ninja suit and then all of you better hide because this Apple has gone Ninja!
So you don't like sports...well then, I don't think we can be friends. Me and sports are like practically married, man. Didn't you hear about it on the news. It was all over the headlines: Apple marries Sports! Just joking, OK I'm not.
One thing you need to know about YWS. We're all different. You, me, the flying floorboards...everyone is different. You may be Storybooker: dangerous ones, they are. Eat you whole if you ain't careful. The poetry clan. They may seem peaceful with their music and gifted voices, but we warned. When you start hearing muic, plug your fingers in your ears and start screaming for your Mama because they're coming and when they get you: there is no turing back.
Artists/Photographers. They'll accept anyone, as long as you have money. You haven't got any: *slides thumb across throat*. A bunch of slit throat they are. If a bank gets robbed, you know who to blame. They have their paint brushes and trust me, they know how to use 'em! Greenies, now they are like Cerebus guarding the gates to hell except! Greenies are fluffy and cute. Don't be fooled, they are dangerous! Underneath all that cuteness they will drag you into their leir and hit you with their rulers and dusters. You abide their rules! Don't be alarmed when a electric taser comes through your computer screen. You guessed right, it's them!
Now, for the masters of this place: Nate and his reddies! Oooh, they have the looks of the Hasslehoff and Pamela Anderson and the brains of that dude in the wheel chair, they save little kittens from falling out of trees. They help little old ladies cross streets. They are those darn freaking kids that nock your door telling you that you've dropped your wallet!
If you ever need any help, don't be afraid to ask (pm me) or dial 077-123-568-142-5658-23654-4525-859654-42563-254682 etc : YWS Hotline! For I am Super Apple, saving the day!

*cough* Well, looks like Vana and Apple pretty much covered the bases here. I may not give a big welcome post, but welcome nevertheless! I hope you find YWS to your liking, and you know the drill by now- PM me, a mod, or a JM if you need help.
(Mods and JM's have green names.)
And I know- we are very exciting.
We have massacres.
We play with big boy toys.
And -and this is only for the experienced senior field writers- ...
We catch chickens. ^_^
Have fun, write well, and may the literature be with you.
hey, Jude, don't make it bad take a sad song and make it better remember to let it into your heart then you can start to make it better.
Hi, I'm Lava and welcome! (There, Meet-'n-greeting done!) So, I see you're loaded with pictures from Apple.
I enjoy reading short stories. You should post some of your work and I'd be happy to critique it for you. Aye, guitar! I love that instrument. Though, I fail at it, which is another story... And no sports? Aww. It can be fun ya know.
Well, I'm positive you'll love it here. Don't hesitate to PM me if you are bursting with questions or if you'd like some talk.
Hope to see you around soon. Cheers, ~Lava
