I'd appreciate it if you reviewed my work! Most of these were taken on a flim Canon Rebel 2000. Thanks!

Hey there!

I didn't look at the sites, sorry. I'm here to say that it's a whole lot easier to get reviews if you actually post the pictures on this thread. Otherwise, you've given us about fifty pictures to go look at and critique, and most of our users aren't up to that.

You could always give us links to specific pictures, that way we wouldn't have to review fifty pictures at once (admit it, that would cause a lot of confusion on your part and ours).

I'll be happy to review once you do this or post the actual pictures here.

PM me with any comments or questions.

Three words: "You haz skillz" Okay, well actually two slang and one real on. but you get the point. Not much I can say but wow. My favorites : subway, tickets, fun, up, and reflection. I could see these pic being use professionally in ads. That building on Up looks mighty familliar. What is it?

Okay, I'm here to review now that you've posted the actual pictures. ;)

Photo One - This is actually very nice. I can't find any issues with it. Nice work.

Photo Two - Now, I think this leaves a lot to be desired. Is it just me or does it have an overall "dusty" look to it? I think it's a bit dull, and I find that the top righthand corner is distracting because of the words "Bridge"--still, nice try on this one.

Photo Three - I love this. The only flaw is that the building appears sort of crooked. Hmm.

Photo Four - What is the point of this picture? I detest this photo. It has no purpose, it's just a snapshot, and not a good one at that. This looks like it was taking with a camera phone - the quality is poor, it's dusty.

Photo Five - Ah! I love this. Your depth of focus is brilliant; by focusing on just the people and tire/swing/thing, you created "bokeh" in the background. AKA, little balls of light that are blurred. Beautiful.

Photo Six - Hmm. This is alright. It's nothing special, honestly, who wants a picture of a child's bink on the street?

Photo Seven - This is nice. It's a ballon, right? I find the other strings besides that of the visible balloon very distracting.

Overall, nice work. Keep it up.

It's just some random building in Manhattan. I'm telling you, there are thousands like it. It just looked cool at my angle, and the only thing special about is the intricate window paning. Thanks for the praise! :smt004

These are awesome! My favourite is the balloon.

In the Subway, maybe it would look better if it was at an angle? Just a thought.

I especially like how you manage to make ordinary things interesting.

Keep taking-photos-of-things!

Nice work! My favorite is the balloon, but the dizzy one is really cool too. Most of the time, posters put their pictures up way too large, but here I think you could have made them just a little bigger. Did you scale them down, or does your camera just take them that size to conserve memory?
Complaints:
The first is too dark.
The second one is rather bland, and a little blurry and the words in the upper-right corner are distracting.
Up is cool, but I would crop it just a little to make it perfectly symmetrical.
The self-portrait isn't that good, mainly for the blurriness.
I love how Fun makes the background so blurred, the black thing so stable and the people somewhat in between.
Bink? I can't tell what it is, sorry. It has good contrast, but the line between brick wall and ground needs to be higher or lower, not right in the center.
This last one is the best and totally awesome! I love how the straight lines contrast with the round shape of the balloon and the twisted string, how did this one happen?

Overall, you did some great work! keep practicing and you'll soon make a post so awesome I won't have a single bad thing to say about it!

PS: Sorry if I was harsh, I tend to do that in reviews.

Hey Abigail! First off, these pictures are awesome. I love the clarity on nearly each and every one of them. They are a bit small, but I'm assuming you just sized them down to fit on the page, so I won't complain about that.

First Picture: This is nice, but the contrast between the light and dark is a little distracting. I realize that you wanted your focus to be on the Tickets booth, but the light from the sky in the left and the light at the bottom right draws my eye away from the main focus.

Second Picture: I like this one a lot. You see this angle often in pictures like this, but I think it definitely works. It makes it seem like the tunnel is sucking you in? My only complaint in this one would be to crop out the black 'bridge' sign in the top left. Otherwise, this one is lovely.

Third Picture: I've seen this angle a lot, too, but for this picture it works. I love the reflection in the windows. No complaints on this one.

Fourth Picture: I don't like this one. It seems fuzzy and busy, and I have a strong aversion to pictures where the camera itself is in the reflection.

Fifth Picture: My favorite of the bunch. This picture is great! The background is nicely blurred, and your subjects are in clear focus. The colors really help to bring the picture to life. Absolutely no complaints here. Nicely done!

Sixth Picture: I'm 50/50 on this one. I love the story of this image, but I feel it could have been better executed. Yet the distance, angle, and coloring of this picture is fine. Really, my only complaint would be to either crop out the right side of the photo where you can see past the bricks.

Seventh Picture: This one would have been my favorite of the bunch, but the phone lines are distracting. The color of the sky is great, the clouds are beautiful, and the balloon floating away is a wonderful touch. So really, it's just the phone lines. Otherwise, it's an amazing photo.

Well, you've definitely got talent! Keep up the good work and let me know if you ever post any more photography! Also, feel free to PM me if you have any questions or comments!

Hey, I'm Lizzy and I am a photographer. I hope my comments don't come across as too harsh (just trying to help you become a better photographer). I'm a little picky about perfection. OCD as I have been called. ;)

#1) I love the focus of the picture but the only bad thing is in my opinion it's a bit dark.

#2) Very nice but I would photoshop it because it is a little too bright. Dim it down a little and it will be great. It is a little blurry though...

#3) I love it!

#4) I don't like this one at all.

#5) I love this one! it shows a lot of emotion and makes the observer feel the same way.

#6) TOO MUCH NEGATIVE SPACE! (And the focus is too small)

#7) Great but it would be better with a bit more light on the ball and a bit less negative space.

Thanks for your time!
I hope my comments will help you.

Bravery is not the absence of fear, but the will to conquer it knowingly.
