<I'm guessing you guys aren't in the same place I am in as Sylvester is in boarding school and still has to reach the Institute. I musn't have stressed this because there are no more X-Men, but us. Though, that's cool I guess. Some of them could've survived; though just don't go insane with it, people. Great posts by the way.>

Sylvester Orslo:

Sitting in the principal's office. I could feel the eyes of the paintings tacked around the wall boring into the back of my neck. Guilt spanned around my heart, squeazing titghly when I tried to ignore it. The chair the principal sat on turned, as if he finally registered me being there.

"Again, Mr. Orlso?" rubbing his eyes with his thumbs, he sighed loudly that his breath whistled through the gap in his front teeth. "What for this time? Placing a tack under the teachers chair? Pulling the fire alarm when there is no fire?"

I gnashed my back teeth together. I would never lower myself to those stupid things! And anyway, I only did most of the "bad" things because - well - I just can't help it. I am just one of those kids that people love to tease. It's not my fault I was born a freak!

"I'm sorry, Sylvester; but you were - as you knew - on phrobation. That was your last chance and you blew it. I'm sorry, Sylve, but you have to leave."

I blinked rappidly at the floor in front of me, trying to keep the tears back. I had been expelled before, sure. Every year in fact! But I love this school. There may have been the bullies and the no friend factor (because I accidently killed my only friend), but other then that: I enjoyed myself here!

"I guess I was just wrong about you, kid. Maybe I should've lowered you a grade like your father suggested." The principal grabbed at a file of sheets and began to sort through them. "I've called your parents, they'll be here any moment."

I felt my eyes widen. I wasn't going back home, not to that step-father. Not to that cold floor! Anger began to pulse through my veins. I wasn't a kid that everyone could tell me what to do! I was as smart as everyone else even if I averged a D+!

"Didn't you me, Mr. Orslo? Go back your things."

My hands sealed around the pen in my pocket. Clicking at it sothe ball point came out from the plastic, I lunged forward sending teh principal to the floor, me on top of him.

"I'm not going anywhere...not back to that place!"

The principal grabbed at my hands and tried to push me off of him. Though, when I managed to ram his head into the floor and send it straight through the floor boards, he thought differently. My fangs peirced through my lips. I was so hungry...

The door smashed open. The pretty secretary with the long back hair stared in shock at the now unconcious principal. Mum and "Dad" stood behind her. Mum's hands moved over her mouth in shock, Dad stared wide eyed at the whole I had made with the Principal's head.

"I'm sorry Mum," jumping, I broke through the window and out into the breeze. Landing on the roof, I began to roll down the slates until my fingers caught on the ledge.

< My character is quite the physco! I think I should make a DT soon, if you guys agree.>
I spy!

Jason

Was it safe? Was it... safe now? The dream felt wrong. Jason knew it was a dream which was wrong enough but it also felt wrong. He was crouching in the rubble of the mansion which had become so familiar over the last few weeks but it was that day. The sound of storming footsteps in the hallway, the clashing of powers, the crying of the stupid girl.

"Shut up!" Jason told her again. He wanted to do it differently this time but he couldn't, his dream wouldn't let him. The little girl wrinkled her face up and peered out of the gap. Jason had pulled a door down over them but there were bullet holes through the wood. Eye-hole spaces through which to watch. Jason didn't want to watch. He wanted to wake up.

"Mummy," the girl whimpered. Jason gave her an awkward pat on her honey head and shushed her. He knew now what her wide eyes were staring at but he didn't want to look. And then he looked. That was the worst part of the dream; Jason had no control over what his body did and as he looked, he saw the familiar face of the professor, the mother of the little girl. Her eyes were pleading with him but it was already too late. Even as he reached to grab the child, she darted out and right into their hands.
________________________________________
Jason was fortunate this time. He jerked awake before he had to watch their deaths and found himself shivering in his corner of the mansion. His corner. It wouldn't be for much longer. Jason needed to get away from here, to find somewhere safe. He'd thought here was safe. For just a moment he'd thought- well it had been foolish. Of course he hadn't found a home, he would never find a home. It was time to be moving on again and leaving these bad memories behind. Coward.

So many had lost their lives that day and he'd hidden. He hadn't been the only one, oh no. Almost every survivor owed their life to cowardly instincts and that was why he had to leave.

I lay in bed unable to sleep. My thoughts kept rewinding to that day. The day none of us few survivors could ever forget. I remembered waking up, hearing a bang, looking out through the keyhole of my bedroom door and seeing bright red. Not the little crimson sparkle that plugs or lights look in my head. True deep red. So much power it seemed impossible, but i knew it to be true. In the face of all that power i did what i thought right. Grabbed my helmet and bolted for my mototrcycle before disappearing into the sunset. All my bold chivalry and obsessive honour completely overhauled by raw fear.
Then i remember pulling over, falling from bike, tearing of my helmet and crying. Tears that to others would looked like mercury thanks to my mutated eyes. Then i remembered the woman pulling her pick up truck over. Asking me if i was alright. I remembered looking up and expecting her to recoil at my warped eyes and freaky tears. But she didn't. She simply said
"Don't be afraid. I'll take you to the others. You just get some sleep."
Next thing i know im waking up at the gates of so,e school, drapped over my motorcycle.
Then its all a blur. Being led inside, shown a room, a girl explaining what had happened.
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BE...BANG!
Damn, i thought with a smirk, there goes another alarm clock. I lept from top bunk landing flawlessly and bowing to invisible before slipping on some shoe and a t shirt and heading for the door. I opened the door, pulled on my shades and walked out to face another day in the wonderful school of weird.

Name: Xander McLaren

Age: 24

Appearance: Rather scruffy looking individual, with a mat of blond hair, and dark blue eyes, a fringe swoops over his eyes. He stands at roughly 6.1 inches and often appears drunk or high. Overall he looks much like a bum.

Personality: Cute and extremely altruistic, he’s very creative, but has bouts of depression. He avoids politics and religion, striving for honing his skills with watercolours.

Ability: See’s the whole world as a painting, able to paint even the hardest subject efficiently. He can also slow down time briefly.

Strengths: Being largely giving person, he’s got many friends and has gained some support for Morlocks in these turbulent times.

Flaws: He’s a druggie, he claims it helps him be creative but he’s O’Ded quite a lot, just briefly surviving.

Background: Xander is a drifter, he grew up with no memory of his parents except of his Mother who slept with every man under the sun to make do for him. But he’s grateful in his way, he heard about morlocks and seeing no one else doing anything he began a charity to make life better for them, gaining vast support, people were seeing mutants as people.

He saw nothing wrong with what he was doing, in fact he saw it as utterly selfless.

It was months after he began the charity, problems arose, his clients being attacked, his art was selling less, and he couldn’t make the bills.

It was then he decided to start taking drugs, any he could get his hand on. His depression got worse due to his art deteriorating, and his charity falling.

Then the bill came through...

All his work was burnt down, if someone hadn’t warned him, the kid morlocks in the establishment, would have died.

He fled with them, living with them, making money for them, providing help for them, anyway he can.

His habit has gotten worse though and he’s in hospital now after another O’D attempt.

Other: Carries a bag with a sketch pad, watercolour paints and some fine brushes.

Xander

Blinking, he tried to lift his hands but was shocked to find them stuck. His eyes shot open, and he groaned; he was in hospital ‘again’. As always Zoey was sat nearby reading a book. Shaking his head he tried to sit up, making tons of noise in the process.

She scowled, “Asshole...”

“What?!”

Zoey approached him, “Stop trying to kill yourself Xander!”

“Oh...”

Oh this is not a oh moment. Just stop trying to kill yourself." She countered glaring at him.

Trying to remember he asked the next question, which entered his mind, “Uh... don’t suppose it was embarrassing how I was found?”

"You have much more important things to wory about then a precarious postion you were found in.”

Sighing he stared into space; taking a long while to answer. His art, his very life blood was failing on him, and depression was getting worse, the whole bill against mutants didn’t help, he needed some meaning. “Why you stick by me Zoey?”

"Because you're honest.”

“Gotta admire your bluntness Zo.”

She smiled, “I think we should perhaps leave the morlocks.”

Xander leapt up, or tried to, but was stopped by restraints, “What?!”

“Well, you made people aware of their plight but our own kind is going through hell. Haven’t you seen the news Xander?”

Rolling his eyes he replied, “No, you know I avoid politics.”

“Well, basically Xavier Insitute was blown up, only a few rooms remain, Professor Charles Xaiver is dead, the Morlocks can hide, but these people are like us Xander, surely you can see that?”

“I guess...” he stuttered.

“Well we stay one night, detox you, and then we go to help them.”

He nodded uncertaintly, “Okay.”

She left the room, and he placed head in his hands, groaning loudly while putting head down on the pillow, willing for sleep to capture him.

<I thought this was dead, but I don't think so anymore. Erhm, I've got to get ready for school so my post is going to be pretty bad. >

Sylvester Orslo:

Walking through the park, I looked out from under my fringe. It was dark; the time of night that I liked. Prowling for prey was perfect for this time period! I could feel hunger crawling across my stomach - almost like slug, it was killing me! A gust of air brushed around the park sending leaves tumbling across the sandy pathway.

The swings to the jungle Jim, swung eerily in the night breeze. Continuing to walk, I dug my fingers into my jean pockets. Walking onto the footpath, a news paper dragged down the road and towards me. Stopping at my feet, I looked down at the newspaper.

"Mutant free life," I muttered to myself. I rolled my eyes. It wasn't mutant free, I was still walking!

Pains began to flicker across my stomach. I needed food! Looking hungrily around, I could see someone sitting on a park bench. What ever they were doing, they didn't seem in the least hindered by the time of day. Another gust sent their sent wafting towards me. I felt my mouth begin to water, the feeling of my fangs growing seemed to be the only thing I could feel.

Without realising, I began to walk towards my...prey! My hands extended, clawing hungrily at the air around me. Jumping into a jog, my step widened. Stopping behind the figure, the glasses I wore stopped me from seeing to my full potential (that and I hadn't drunken in a long time). Snarling, my prey turned around, horror masking their face.

>This can be anyone. If no one wants to take it, I'll just fill it in myself with some random. :D <

Jason

He'd already stuck around too long so it was time to be off. There wasn't even anyone to say goodbye to. Oh sure, he knew names. He'd been there long enough for that but in the last couple of weeks, he'd come no closer to finding friends than ever before. Ever before. That felt like such a long time. And it was a lie. Oh he'd had friends, back when he lived a normal life. Before these powers had to come along to ruin it all.

Jason scowled as he shouldered his rucksack and turned away from the institute. A shame, a shame. In other circumstances he might have found a home there, people like him, a school. Friends. None of that was going to happen now though. They'd be dead soon enough. They weren't even thinking about moving which was stupid. Those guys would be back, no doubt about it, and Jason didn't want to be around when that happened. No way. He was going to be far away, he was going to be-

Alive. That was what it was all about. He didn't need people, he just have to live. Or at least that was what he told himself as he made his way through the park and threw himself down on a likely looking bench. Here he was. On the street again. With a huffy sigh he took a blanket from his rucksack and was about to wrap it round himself when he heard the sound of a twig snapping and turned around just in time to see some freaky, drooling mutant about to sink its teeth into his arm. "Aargh!" Jason yelled in surprise, throwing himself backwards off the bench.

What to do, what to do? Some weirdo wanted to take a bite out of him! For the first time, Jason got a feel for what it was like to be normal and to be confronted with a mutant. It was bloody scary! And they were dangerous and- but he wasn't normal! The guy, kid, thing leapt toward him. Jason couldn't even see what it was in the dark but he knew his body would be useless for fighting it off. So he was trying to think of something to change into when he felt the sharp, cold teeth bite down. "Get off me you blood sucker!" Jason yelled, struggling, trying to pull his arm away. "Oy! Get your own blood!"

I strode out to the garage, my black leather trench coat billowing behind me and my black boot crunching on the gravel. I tugged on my helmet, complete with a flaming blue skull emblazoned on the back, and started my motorcycle, relishing the familiar hum of power. I blasted out of the garage and roared across the city.
I fancy a quiet sit down, i decided after half an hour of aimless driving.
I pulled up outside the park, lowered my bike onto its kick stand and locked my helmet away before wandering into the silence of the park. Before long my quiet stroll was interupted by a yell of "Get your own blood!"
Ignoring my previous quiet stroll i sprinted full pelt around the corner to see a flailing figure with someone latched onto there arm by there teeth.
"Try to keep still," i called to the flailing figure. I felt somehow responsible for the mutant feeding on this man. I crouched and scrabbled around for something to throw. Finally my hand settled around a smooth stone. I looked around for a reasonable source of power, my eyes settled on the steady hum of a large oak tree. I pulled energy from the tree and fed into the stone before hurling it atg the crazed vampie like figure. There was a red flash and a bang and the two figures were separated.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.

Zoey

While Xander was resting Zoey started putting there stuff together, there wasn't much. Quite honestly she was tired of this life style. The morlocks were accommodating and nice but even when the world was normal they were persecuted. This was no different and there would be no change. If she get Xander to put his mind to helping mutant kind as a whole then they would be much better off.

She looked at herself in the mirror. If she was going to go out in to the real world she would have to change her hair. Silver hair was a bit of a giveaway. She picked up a box of hair die that was part of the stash that the morlocks had recently stolen. She loved her hair but changing it would be for the greater good.

Sylvester Orslo:

Tousling with the young looking man, I could feel my fangs protruding my mouth. He watched them nervously, trying to push me over with his weight.

"Get your own blood!" he yelped, as I forced him back.

He kicked at my shin; catching me off guard. Staggering, I looked up to see a shadowed figure leering over a bush. Suddenly red light exploded sending the trees toppling in the violent gusts. It struck at the both of us sending us toppling to the floor. I was the first to get up, crouching I snarled.

The other man stood up, rubbing his head painfully. A feeling in my gut told me he wasn't supposed to be hit; I was. Turning the one that had let loose the red light began to run towards us. Stumbling backwards, I turned and began to run. I wasn't going to caught or killed, not on my first night on the town.

"We have to get him!" one of the men said. "He might drink someone else's blood." I felt my fangs shrink back to normal, all my hunger gone, replaced with guilt.

I pulled my hood up and slunk down another hall. The wall's bricks were falling, the cement turned to powder, but this was one of my favorite halls. I broke into a sprint until I reached my second favorite part in the Ruins- a little cranny, a room. My room. It belonged to one of the original X-Men. I've been trying to figure out which for years now.

Smiling, I pushed up a switch, and a central light came on. I pulled the switch about halfway down, dimming the light. I started working a wheel, turning until there was a burn in my bicep, and the ceiling slowly twisted open, like a camera shutter, revealing dozens of dimly glowing lightbulbs, swaying and laced through with old Christmas lights.

I lit a few candles and eased back to my bed, the curtains around it waving gently. I spread my palm open and tried the technique I'd been attempting for years- displacing the darkness of the room. A fierce pull, like when you're underwater and bring your arms in very quickly. The water displaces, and in some areas, namely the place it was taken from, the water feels thinner, and in others, namely the place you've brought it to, the water seems immensely thick.

I just had to do that with something you couldn't physically touch.

Biting my lip, I swiped my hand through the air, cupping it slightly. I pressed it against my heart and, very carefully, pulled my hand away so I could see. With a breathy laugh of amazement, I ran a finger through the puddle of gold-tinged black in my hand. When my finger grew near, the darkness shied away, and even in my hand, I could see it was never touching my skin. Just... hovering.

Feeling my strength fade with every second I held onto the puddle of darkness, I dropped my hand, and the puddle seeped back into the air. I felt faint, and swayed, but gripped the bedframe and closed my eyes until it was better.

It was worth it, even for just a handful of golden black.
hey, Jude, don't make it bad
take a sad song and make it better
remember to let it into your heart
then you can start
to make it better.

"We have to get him!" My savior dude shouted, taking a few hurried steps after the weirdo vampire guy. "He might drink someone else's blood." Uh right... chase the mutant guy. Can I get back to you on that one?

"Look, dude. Thanks for saving me and all, I mean don't get me wrong, it's cool that-" He was running back and forth, searching for the vampire who was apparently hiding somewhere nearby. That made me feel nervous again. And then suddenly he turned on me but I stood my ground. Good guys just weren't scary. They were good, no matter how mad you got them and I had other things to worry about.

"Aren't you going to help me look?" he asked. It was hard to make out his features in the dark but he looked pretty mad and the scruffy lump of blond hair wasn't helping in that department.

"Hey chill, don't get mad at me. I've got stuff to do you know, places to be and I don't fancy getting eaten. I have enough problems already and-"

"Problems?" The guy snorted and gave me a look that was very obviously disgust. I studied his features a moment longer and then smirked to myself. Oh right, yeah. This guy probably thought I was mutant hating scum. Well. I'd been thinking that myself just seconds before.

With a tilt of my head to check a few final details, I concentrated and felt my body start to shift and morph into the guy in front of me. It wasn't anywhere near perfect but it was close enough that I was very obviously him. "Problems?" I mimicked, testing the new set of vocal cords. I attempted to give the same snort as him and did a pretty good job. Call me a lump of metal if you like, but I certainly make a good mirror when I want to.
