"You going to bed soon?" My mother asked me, starting up the stairs.
I nodded. "Yeah, but I'm going to stay up and finish this movie."
She nodded. "Make sure you turn everything off and lock the doors." She gave me a smile, and went upstairs.
I yawned, putting my feet on the coffee table, turning my attention back to the TV.
"What are you watching?" Tyler, my twin brother asked, coming into the living room. He plopped down into the recliner, and took some popcorn out of the bowl.
"A movie." I said, letting out another yawn.
"Tired?," he asked, and I nodded. "Why don't you go to sleep then?"
"I want to finish the movie." I said, pointing at the TV, which was currently showing a commercial.
He nodded, taking a handful of popcorn.
I shot Tyler a look for his loud chewing, knowing he was just doing it to annoy me. I was just about to reach for some popcorn when I heard something. I looked over at Tyler. "Did you hear that?" I asked, looking to my left then back at him.
"Hear what?" He asked, raising a brown brow.
"That. That noise outside."
"Kris, we live near the woods. Of course we're going to be hearing things. I thought we already established this when we were three." He said, rolling his eyes.
I threw a pillow at him. "Shut up. I was just saying I hear something. Not that I was scared or anything."
"Yeah right." He chuckled, throwing the pillow back at me.
I caught it and was just about to throw it back when the lights and TV went out.
"Good going Kris. You made the lights go out." I heard the chair creak, meaning Tyler must of been getting out of the chair.
"Now how would I make them go out?" I said, also getting up. I banged my knee off the coffee table. "Ow." I muttered to myself. I heard Tyler let out a chuckle.
"Ty, g-" I began, but stopped when a hand wrapped around my waist. I was about to let out a shriek when a hand clamped over my mouth, pressing against it hard.
"Kris?" I heard Tyler say. He then let out a grunt of struggle, meaning he must of been grabbed also.
The stranger who grabbed me was now guiding me out of the living room and out the front door. I felt the cool wind hit my face, blowing my brown curtain of curly hair around. I couldn't see a thing, since it was pitch black out, and not even a moon shining. I was still being forced forward when all of the sudden, I was sleepy. I felt my eyes drooping, then they closed completely shut, me falling asleep in the stranger's hold.
******************
When I woke up, I was sitting in a hard metal chair, my head was forward in an uncomfortable position, my ankles and wrists were tied, and I was blindfolded. I tried to move, but I was aching. Where the hell was I? I thought.
"Look who decided to finally wake up." I heard an awfully familiar voice say.
"Luke Pierce?" I managed to say, my voice hoarse. I hated, I mean absolutely hated Luke Pierce.
"The one and only." Luke said, letting out a sigh. He took off my blindfold.
I looked to my left and right, trying to place where I was. I had no clue. I looked back at Luke, and gave him a cold glare. "Why am I here, all hog-tied?" I asked, annoyance in my tone.
Luke let out a chuckle.
"What? I think I have a right to know."
"I guess you do. But I won't be telling you anything."
"Well then who the heck will?" I asked, glaring at him again.
"Adam, Jack, and Nate." Luke said, with a smile that didn't seem real.
"Adam!?" I asked, shocked. No, it couldn't be the Adam Minnow I dated. I'm still dating. I mean, why would he kidnap me? "And who the heck are Nate and Jack?"
"Hello, Kristin." I heard Adam's cool voice say even before he appeared in front of me. His hair seemed to be darker in the dim lighting.
"A-Adam?" I managed to choke out.
He flashed me an unfamiliar smile, a smile I wasn't used to at all.
"I'm Nate Ross." Another guy appeared besides Jack. He was slightly taller, with even darker hair, eyes to match.
I looked from Adam, to Luke, and to Nate, when I felt hands on my shoulders, and a laugh from behind. I tried to twist around and see who it was, but I couldn't. I gained some strength and a bit of confidence back and hissed "Get. Off. Me." to whoever had their hands on my shoulders.
The hands took their time getting off me, but then another guy appeared. "And I'm Jack Hudson." He flashed a creepy smile, matching Adam's. He was the same height as that Nate guy, and he had strikingly light blue eyes.
I didn't say anything, and my focus was now on Adam, who was standing in front of me.
"Wondering why you're here?" He asked, and I nodded, slowly. He crouched in front of me, moving a piece of my hair out of my face.
"You're here for many, many reasons." He said "You see, we have lots of secrets to tell you. Secrets that you won't like."
I managed to shoot him a glare. "Where's Tyler?" I demanded, just ignoring what Adam had just said.
"Right besides you, darling." He said with a laugh.
I looked besides me, and there enough, was Tyler, tied up like me, in a chair, but he was still either knocked out or sleeping.
"You could say he's under a sleeping spell. But that would sound silly though, wouldn't it?" Jack said, giving me a crocked grin.
I turned my glare on him. I hated his guts already, even though I barely knew him. "What do you four jerks want?"
"One step at a time girl." Nate said with a laugh.
"Shut-up. I have a freaking right to know why I'm here, and why you idiots kidnapped my brother and me."
"Fine then. We'll tell you. But we got a secret we have to share first." Adam said.
"Well, what the heck is it?"
Adam leaned closer to me, and at that moment, I wished I could move, and maybe slap him across the face. He leaned close to my neck, and when he spoke, his lips brushed my ear. "We're vampires." He said, his breath hot in my ear. He leaned away, a smug expression on his face.
I began to laugh uncontrollably. "Seriously? You expect me to believe that? That you're actually v-v-v-v-vampires!? You're crazy! Insane!" I laughed, my stomach now hurting from it.
Adam gave me a cold stare, and clamped a hand over my mouth. "Be quiet." He said, and I instantly shut-up, against my own will.
I gulped, now a bit freaked. I've never seen Adam like this. This wasn't the Adam I dated, the one I thought I loved.
He removed his hand, and still had that cold look to him. "Now, you're going to be a good, obedient girl, and listen." He said, talking to me like he was talking to a disobedient puppy.
I didn't say anything nor nod, and Jack and Nate smirked.
Adam looked at me, then hissed, and his lower lip peeled back, revealing fangs. Actual fangs. Like a large cat's fangs. I blinked, scared to death. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't. I wanted to run, but I couldn't. I wanted to get away, but I couldn't. I nodded, feeling like if I did, he'd return to the normal Adam. But he really didn't. He stood and that cold look was gone, but there was hunger in his eyes, but hatred was also visible in them. Hatred for me?
"Well, I guess we should get onto explaining." Nate said.
"Yes, we should." Adam said, glancing over at Tyler. "Wake up." He said, his tone flat.
Tyler's eyes fluttered open, and he muttered something. "Where am I?" He then asked, looking around the room. He then spotted me, Jack, Nate, Adam, and Luke. "What the hell?" He asked, confusion showing on his face.
"Don't worry Tyler. They're going to be explaining why, in detail, why we were kidnapped and dragged here." I said, my voice back to it's normal state.
He looked at me, then at the four. "You better have not hurt her. Or you better not hurt her, period." He seemed to hiss, his brother instincts kicking in.
Adam and Jack both laughed, loud, basically right into Tyler's face.
"You stupid idiot. Your threats have no effect on any of us. Tyler, we're greater than you. You're nothing but a weak human, while we're vampires! With extraordinary powers!" Nate said, the amusement clear in his tone. He looked over at Jack and Adam, then nodded. "And you want to know what I think of you're pathetic threats?" Nate asked, inches away from Tyler's face. "This." He said, then pulled his face away from Tyler's, coming over to me.
"You better not touch her, you monster!" Tyler shouted, getting angrier and angrier.
I looked over at Adam, my eyes pleading. I was hoping he at least still liked me, and wouldn't let a vampire suck my blood. I mean, even if I am his ex, I was once his friend. And friends don't let friends get sucked on by vampires. I had no luck with Adam though, since he still had that cold, cold stare on his face.
Nate made his way over to me, grabbing my chin with his hands. He held it in a tight grip, that I couldn't get out of. He stared right into my eyes, smiling. "See what you get for your idiot brother's mouth? Just to let you know, this will hurt, a lot." He leaned into me, his mouth going closer to my throat. I couldn't move in his grasp, and was too scared to even. I soon felt a cool, eerie mouth on my neck, and a small nip. Doesn't hurt that much, I thought to myself.
Then, that's when the pain hit me. It was excruciating, & it radiated throughout my whole body. It felt like a cut when you put peroxide on it, burning. I let out a blood curdling scream, wanting the pain to stop. It didn't. Nate kept drinking, digging his fangs in deeper. I soon didn't even have the strength to scream, and felt like I was going to pass out. My vision began to go fuzzy, and just as I was about to close my eyes, I felt relief. Nate ever so slowly took out his fangs, and released his grip on me. The last thing I head were shouts from Tyler before everything went black.
