Hi! :D So I'm SporkPunk, but you can call me Sporks or Sporky. Or whatever floats your boat. Welcome to YWS!

So, some stuff you should do first would be to check out this page, then check out this one. They'll answer a lot of questions you may have and welcome you to the site in general. After that you can check out the community forum which is here. And of course, the literary forums, which you can find by clicking on the Read/Write tab near the top of the page. Just be click-happy. : )

Okay, so now that part's over. Now for the fun. Tell a bit about yourself! What do you write? Who's your favorite author? McDonald's or Burger King?

Anyway, welcome again to YWS. If you have any questions, feel free to PM a mod. They're the ones with the green usernames. They'll be happy to help.

~Sporks!

P.S.: Here, have an eternally dancing pink elephant: :elephant:

Hello and welcome to YWS! Spork asked all the good questions. :)

And just like she also said, I'm one of those people with a green name! So if you have any questions or get lost while using the forum, feel free to send me a PM.

I hope you like the site!

Hiya and welcome to the site!

A good place to start is just by poking around! Click on every forum that looks interesting, and explore the drop down menus in the header (just hold your mouse over the buttons to get more options!) You'll get the hang of it in a few days, and as Suz said, if you're stuck you can PM somebody in green for help. ^^

You can also jump right into reviewing. it's really easy and just requires you to say what you liked/didn't like about a work and why. And remember there's no wrong feedback! Just give your honest opinion on the work, and chances are the author will appreciate it. :)

Hope to see you around! PM me if you need anything at all. ^_^

Can't wait to see you around the forums! *tips hat*

Haha, thanks for the elephant, Spork! And for the advice, I shall have a look at those pages in the next few days when work doesn't take up all of my brainpower.

Hmm, the fun part... I love to write poetry, although it does depend on what's going on in my life. I had a good few days of inspiration last week and wrote a series of poems, one of which I've posted. It's called One Night Only, if you feel like having a peek... But I like to write stories, too. I just have trouble finishing them. I'm writing one at the moment that's sort of a children's adventure story, although I'm not sure how suitable it is for them to read. I need help figuring out exactly what genre it comes under. I'll try to post some of that soon too.

Erm, MacDonald's, definitely! Can't beat a double cheeseburger and fries on those rubbish days :)
And I couldn't possibly name a favourite author, I have too many!

No, it's not that you didn't succeed. You accomplished a lot, but, if you want to touch people, don't concentrate so much on rhyme and metre. Think more about what you want to say instead of how you're saying it.
