Roy
I raised an eyebrow as the girl- Astria, my mind firmly corrected- tried to turn down the street. I took her elbow, prayed she wasn't as violent as Philly had said she was, and pulled her to the burger place that was literally right in front of us. Almost immediately, she both snarled and twisted my wrist. I yelped.
"Just thinking that this is closer," I said, pointing at the diner. She narrowed her eyes. Well, more so than they had been.
"I'd prefer we wouldn't."
"Too dirty for the high and mighty Shadow Girl?"
"Stop calling me that. And... bad experience."
"Oh? What could possibly be bad about this little place?"
"Encounters."
"With whom? Employer? Friend of a past target? Ooh- mafia? Gang?"
She rolled her eyes. "Others. Like us."
My jaw dropped a little. Others? Astria swore suddenly. "What?" I asked.
"They're still here."
Just then, I saw a boy, close to my age, look up. "You again?"
"Yeah. Me again."
I almost squealed. "Oh, this is great! C'mon, Ria!" I said. She froze, jaw set.
"Stop saying my name."
"Whatever you say..."
