Hi everyone!

So, I'm new here. I've lurked here once, and I have to say everyone here is an amazing writer. I finally decided to make an account here as I finally have some finished works. I'm a member of another forum, so I know the basics. : )

I guess this is my space to tell you all a little about me. I'm an almost seventeen year old girl from New England in the US, with a big imagination. I've always loved writing, but I've only taken myself seriously with writing the past few years. Besides writing, I adore reading. (Surprise?) Other than that though, I have (slight) obsessions with video games, MUSIC, like anything from Placebo to The Ramones to really unknown bands like The Faint or VHS or Beta, computers, INTERNET, anything "geeky," photography, poetry, sci-fi movies, (Star Wars is my favorite) and more recently electronica, like Daft Punk or Pendulum. I love it! : D

Anyway, I hope to be here a while.
Grasped by the throat, grasped by the throat. That's how I feel about love. That it's not worth it.

Hello Spork!

Welcome to YWS!
I hope you enjoy yourself!

It's great that you know the basics, but if you need any help then feel free to PM and I'll help you out. :)

I am also a bit of a video game fanatic! And I am forever on the computer either on YWS or Facebook. Photography is also pretty cool, we have an art and photography forum where you can post your photos if you want to and get reviews.

Anyway, I hope you have a great time!
I look forward to reading some of your work. If you would like a review then just feel free to ask and I'll see what I can do!

Oh, and drop by the live chat if you get time and you'll meet some great writers who'll be happy to help you should you need it. You could also make some great friends. :)

I'll see you around,
~Lydia

Hello, SporkPunk. I am Jayleigh. Welcome to the site!!!
I have to tell you this, but is a bigggg secret and you cannot tell a soul. (I am a closet Star Wars fan) Shh!
What kind of books do you read? OH! Pictures are always fun. I don't really attempt at anything nice, but from time to time I'll accidentally take a picture and it will come out amaazing!
Anywho, there are fun and nifty rules to this site, and they are posted around here somewhere. There are sticky posts to every forum with suggestions or other must reads that I will suggest you take a good look at. Tour the site for a while, let your finger be clickyhappy. Have fun, and post!!!
(Don't forget to review as well. Gets your name out there a bit)
Good luck, see you around.

-Jayleigh

P.S. Please, have an eternally dancing pink elephant. :elephant:

Hiya SporkPunk (cool name, by the way)! Welcome to Young Writers Society!

You like Placebo? :D I was just listening to "Running Up That Hill". I love the hopeful sadness that resounds in each beat. It's so emotional and I think it's one of my new favorites.

So, I'm going to ask you a few questions to get to know you even better. ^_^ Hope you don't mind.

Do you prefer prose or poetry? What are you looking forward to this summer? What's your favorite book?

I hope you love it here!

Have a question? Want a review? PM me and I'll be happy to help! :D

Thank you all for the welcome! :]

What kind of video games do you like, Lydia? I usually play games like pokemon, rock band, guitar hero, final fantasy, god of war, and I really like Left 4 Dead 2. OH! And if someone breaks out any kind of Dance Dance Revolution, I am his/her best friend. :smt003 I absolutely adore that game.

I read A LOT of different genres, my favorites though are horror, futuristic anything, zombie books, vampire novels pre-twilight era, like...Anne Rice, and recently I've been reading some cyberpunk and steampunk. They're also quite good. OH and classic books. Oscar Wilde is my hero. :D (Since you let me in on a secret of yours, I have one to share. I am a closet romance fan.) What about you, Jayleigh?

And thank you for the elephant. I shall call him...Reginald. Yes. Reginald the Eternally Dancing Pink Elephant. :]
And thanks for thinking my name is cool! :D You can call me Sporks or Spork or even my "real" name (Leslie!) if you like.

Placebo is my favorite band! :D I'm viewing this page with a Placebo-themed browser. xD Running Up That Hill is great. My favorite by them changes almost daily. xD

Of course I don't mind! :)

I prefer to read and write prose, though I do love to read poetry. I don't write much poetry though; I'm not very good at it. Though I may post some poetry for the fun of it. Prose is just more engaging for me, and I write prose better.
I'm looking forward to going to my aunt's house and stay there for a while. She lives on the coast of the Atlantic, and it's really pretty there. Also, since my family is half Native American, she lives on the reservation. So when I live with her, I get to participate in the tribe's annual festivals. :D
My favorite book is The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. It's so clever, and I used so many sticky notes to mark all the amazing one liners in there! I'm about to re-read it, after Fight Club and Pygmy.
What about you, prose or poetry? What are you looking forward to? Favorite book?

I love getting to know people. And I really like it here already! :)
