Chapter Two:
I lay in my new bed, looking at my new walls, and my new ceiling, and my new floor. The colors were bright and cheery, too bright and cheery if you ask me. But that's Nana for you. The fan over my head clicked, the clock on the wall ticked, and Nana's dog, Lemon, panted on the floor. Combined, the sounds equaled one big headache.
As i left my room Nana passed by in her nurses outfit and said "Julie, do you think you can cut the grass for me later? You would only have to do the front."
When I gave her a disgusted expression she said "I would really appreciate it."
Rolling my eyes I trudged down the stairs and groaned "Fine, whatever."
Nana followed me down the steps in her own perky steps and we headed into the kitchen. She handed me a breakfast sandwich and said "Eat this. And hurry up."
Biting into the sandwich I said "Why do I need to hurry?"
Swallowing a bite her own sandwich Nana said "Because you need to come to the hospital with me today."
I gave her and annoyed expression and she merely shrugged and said "I can't leave you alone here. It'll only be for a few hours."
Not hungry I threw the sandwich in the trash and said "What am I supposed to do for a few hours in a hospital?"
Giving a sigh she said "I don't know Julie. But there are plenty of kids your age there. They may be sick but they're not all contagious."
Rolling my eyes I said "Yeah, that's really assuring."
Placing a hand on her hip Nana said "You know Julie, your mother may tolerate you talking back to her but I'm not going to accept it. Now go get in the car. I'll be out in a second."
Giving another roll of my eyes I headed out for the pink truck. Just as I climbed in Nana came out and with in a minute we were headed towards the hospital.
