Pictures I took in my grandparents backyard. The flower one was way too bright, so I toned down the colors...maybe a little too much. Tell me what you think!

But the first picture is... well it's kinda to dark to really let my eye catch on it. I have to squint and concentrate to be able to see it really well. There's not an eye-catcher, a place were my eye can rest, a place that pops out; that's probably just because of the shadow that fell over the bird feeder.
But you do a great job at photography! Keep taking pictures!

Do you have any idea why a raven is like a writing desk?
Actually, I like the almost-sepia tones in the flower photograph, and the fact that it's a little off-center.
I don't know that I would say that the first one is too dark, but I think the contrast is much too high. It makes your colors look flat and blows out your highlights.
Not bad, though! I like them!

1st pic: I adore this. It's got a kinda mysterious feel to it with the contrast and heavy saturation. The shadow over the birdhouse just adds to that, plus the vines (honeysuckle?) starting to curl about it. You could use it as a story prompt! The angle just makes it even better, how you're looking at it from underneath just a little bit. I can't really find the right word to sum it up--I think "mysterious" is about as close as I'm gonna get. XP
2nd pic: Like Shepherd said, I love the sepia tone you gave the flower. You could almost use it as a book cover or an avatar if you add some kind of special phrase on the right hand side. I think it's prettier by itself, though. ^_^
Keep taking pictures! And when you do, take a bazillion from all sorts of angles and with different lighting so you can get the best pic possible! That's what I do, anyway...

The red birdhouse seems kind of dark to me, compared to all the green around it. It's still a lovely picture though! The little flower is absolutely beautiful. What kind is it? I love that pretty orange color, and the little yellow highlights inside of it.
I actually really like both of these. Usually I'm not a big fan of flower photography, but your second photo was really, really well shot. The colors are terrific and the placement couldn't be better, in my opinion. The background isn't overly busy, and I like how it blurs out farther back, to really draw your eye to the main focus of the picture.
The first one is also pretty good, but the twigs in the bottom right really distract from the birdhouse itself. However, the leaves on the left side of the picture seem to reach towards and wrap around the birdhouse, which is a cool effect. I'm not sure if you meant for that or not, but it works. Was this one edited? The colors seem bright - not that that's a bad thing.

Hey, Embee! These are very nice; they really capture the essence of this season of summer! *luffs* I actually prefer the second one over the first one. The flower is very pretty, and you did a nice job capturing that beauty in the picture. So, great work! Keep it up--and Photoshop, eh? I use Photoshop Elements, which is pretty much the same. Luffly job! -Mizz

I like the vibrant pops of color. Maybe, for the first one, if you moved the camera slightly so that the birdhouse was to the side more, it would have a better effect. Other than that, awesome!

I love these, and I especially love the light in the first one. The color brightness is fine; but, I'm interested in seeing how the flower picture originally looked. Yea, actually making the flower a little brighter would help.
Also:
Whoa, where's the stem for the flower? This isn't really a photography issue, but I'm just wondering. Or does it grow on the bush? (Sorry, I don't know that much about plants. This might be obvious.)
Hope I helped! Lovely job, you really captured the spirit of summer.
I definitely love these! The angles are fabby-do-cious! I love the shadow on the colours in the first one, it makes it very unique. The subject, which I'm guessing is some kind of bird box, looks great the way it's hidden amongst the vibrant green of the leaves. Essentially, the first one is perfect, but I feel you could tone down the bottom right a bit of it more perhaps, as the bright white light reflecting off of the leaf is a bit distracting.
The flower one is perfectly shot too, though I don't think you should've toned it down as much. I think it needs an extre surge of brightness to it, not too much and if possible it'd be even better if that could be focused on the flower, so that it ultimately stood out as the subject.
