The Start of the End of the World.

seraphine:

"Your welcome." i said while getting up. I threw the bookbag up in the tree again. "I wonder if I was going to cook my dinner tonight or just hunt tonight." I thought in my head. Conall was looking funny at me again. "What? What did I do?" I asked nervously.

Conall

I quickly turned away. Usually people could tell when I was reading their minds, I usually had to watch them to do it which made me look like a stalker... I smiled slightly.

"Well, um, I've got to get going, Lee will be-"

Crap.

"Lee? Who's Lee?" Seraphine asked. I turned back just in time to see her raise an eyebrow.

"Um, no one," I said hurriedly. Too hurriedly. I knew just from her thoughts she knew I wasn't tellin the truth... crap.

seraphine:

I growled slightly. "This guy is hidding something from me and I hate when people do that to me; even though I dont go to school, people thought i was dead, so I leave it be." I just did the simpelist thing anyone would do. I turned and walked away. It was about 7:30 pm and I was to tired to even hunt. "Ill go the long way, so if this dude follows me, ill know easily." I thought to myself angrily.

SHADOW

My dad went quite, that meant he was asleep. I pushed open my window, and climbed out. Marble was already waiting for me. He spotted the bruise on my cheek and nuzzled it. I pushed him away.
"I'm alright boy, let's get out of here." I said pulling myself onto him. He whinnied. "Quiet down, do you want him to catch us?" He broke into a trot, he wanted to get out of here to. Shady was back. Full fledged to. I wanted to fall into the shadows and never be found. But i couldn't leave my dad to fend for himself! I wandered around in the woods, until i found a nice spot. I had to occupy my mind with something before i started thinking, thinking lead to remembering and remembering lead to crying. I hopped back down off of marble, stroking his bare back. I never made horses wear saddles. I let him go, he went and grazed on some grass. I started moving rocks around. Waving my hand this way and that, it was enough to keep my mind off things.

Conall

So people thought she was dead.... hm..... interesting. I had just ran away, but it looked like she had brought herself to a fuller extent. I knew that she thought I might follow her. Well, she was wrong. I may read peoples minds but I wasn't a stalker. I rolled my eyes, turned away, and walked off. At any other time I would have changed into my Jaguar form, but I didn't want to when I was going into town.

I spotted the house of the family who was on vacation. I climbed in through the ajar back window into the house. If anyone had seen me this time, I swear-

I felt a prickling on the back of my neck, like someone had followed me. I laughed harshly.

seraphine:

When I was walking away i heard him walking towards someones house. "Oh well. I just helped him and now he is just going to get himself killed." i sighed and ran toward where I heard Shadow and Marble are.

Conall

I heard a voice. "Made it back, did you?"

I rolled my eyes. "You know what-"

"Don't even say it, my dearest," Lee said, grinning a little and shrugging as she hopped in through the window. "By the way, you knew I was following you. Do you deserve a cookie?"

"Shut up."

"Will do soon."

"Haha."

I smiled a little.

seraphine:

I heard people talking in the distance. And we were to far away from town, so it had to be Conalls and someone elses. "Probely to Lee." I sneered to myself in.

SHADOW

I heard sera run over. I dropped my hands, making the earth re-level itself.
"Hey." I called over my shoulder. I couldn't look at her, she would see it and i would have to lie.
"What are you doing out here, I thought you had to go home. I sighed, let the lies begin.
"I needed some fresh air." I walked over to marble, still not looking at her. Marble could sense my distress and started nuzzling the crook of my neck. I smiled, he was so understanding.
"Will you look at me?" She asked. I turned halfway, keeping my bruised cheek turned away from her.
"Better?" I asked. She had better not find out. My dad will get mad.

*WRITERS BLOCK GAH!*

Conall

"So, did you find it?" I asked, glancing towards her curiously while at the same time trying- and failing- to tie my shoe while standing up.

"Of course I found it, I'm not an idiot," Lee snorted, laughing at the same time.

"Hey, just checking," I said with a shrug. "Now when are you going to leave so I can get some sleep?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Geez, sorry," she said, laughing and left.

I grinned a bit.

seraphine:

"Better?" she asked.

"No. I know something happened with you and your dad. Im not deaf, you know." I shook my head and went over to her and took her by the shoulders. As I turned her to look at her face me I saw the bruise he left on her. I growled low in my throat. "What did he do this time?" I was mad as hell.

SHADOW

I pushed her away. Putting my hand on my cheek.
"Nothing. I fell and landed face first." She obviously didn't believe me.
"The ground doesn't leave bruises in the shape of hands." She said pointing at my cheek. I through my hands up in desperation.
"What do you want me to do?" I asked. "Hit him back? I cant hurt him, he's my daddy!" I put my arms over Marble and pressed my forehead to his back. I felt her hand on my back, i turned my head and looked at her.
"You can't just let him hit you." I shook her off and mounted Marble. I looked straight ahead into the trees.
"I deserve it, it's my fault mama is dead." I gazed at the ground, there was a small wilted flower, i waved my hand and it perked up and blossomed.

seraphine:

"It is NOT your fault!" I yelled. "It was an accident, and you could not save her. So what?! At least you have someone you can go home to! He is just worried about you. He loves you very much." I had to look down at the ground because I felt a lump go in my throat. I couldnt swallow either. "I wish I could have a family that I can laugh with, play with, even fight with sometimes. But I dont and you do; so be happy for what you have and dont wish anything could be different." I whrispered to her.

SHADOW

"hmm. I have a dad i don't want, and you have no family. I wish i could just leave him. We don't get along at all, the only time he acknowledges me is when he's yelling at me or beating me. I would give him up in a heart beat if he wasn't so defenceless. I don't know how much more of this i can take." I said looking up to her. "I love my daddy, its true. But it's hard to love someone who disaproves of your everymove, and beats you for it." She looked like she wanted to cry. She reminded me so much of my mom. Tough on the outside, soft on the inside. I hoped down off of marble and gave her a hug.

seraphine:

When she wrapped her arms around me, I burst into tears. I hugged her back as softly as I could. "You are just like my young sister I always wanted." I sniffled. "I want to beat him to a pulp sometimes, but you need him, even though you dont think so. We all need a parent or two to boss us around and talk to us." I heard her stomach growl. I pulled back and asked, "Did you eat?" She shook her head. "Alrighty then. You know what? you head back to my cave and start a fire and ill bring some meat and veggi's and we will eat together. How does that sound?" I asked cheerfully.
