This is a piece of art that I created myself, along with the help of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. It all started off as many sketches on many pieces of paper, until I molded it into what it is now. This is an original work so everything you see came from my ole' noggin. The story with Apollo and Daphe is an old Greek methology tale about a man who loved a woman so much, she ends up becoming a laurel leaf tree. I'll let you check out that tale on your own. Here it is and enjoy.
OK, I haven't read my Greek mythology in quite a while, so I don't remember the whole story, but I like it! I liked the fonts you used (and how you centered them and didn't just use a plain font for all the words), and the waving grass and laurel tree. The "sparkle" (XD my name for the lens lights) positions were also well laid-out.
I think you could have shown more of Apollo, though. We get a little less than half the body here, and I find myself wanting to see more. ^_^ But the layout of the face was symmetrical, and I laughed at his expression. XD Yeah, I'm weird.
Well, anyway....good job! I'll be waiting to see more work from you! *hint hint*
"There's a big difference between shooting a target and shooting a charging Wargal. A target isn't usually trying to kill you." ~Halt, Ranger's Apprentice Book Two: The Burning Bridge
This is a wonderful piece of art. I can imagine endless hours of hard work and frustration behind such brilliance.
Anyway, critiques -
- His ear reaches a little high on his head. I don't know, it looks like it should be a few pinches shorter.
- I know it's cartoon-esque and all, but I think his arm is a little awkward, as in the part where his arm and torso separate is a little long.
Otherwise, I think his right side could use a bit of shading, because with the lens flare on the left side, it seems like the sun is directional from that side, and yeah! I think the other side could be a little darker or something, to give a little bit more depth. I think the sky (?) could use a cloud or two as well. This is a beautiful piece of art, dear. You must draw more and such, because you're really good.

You exhibit great talent in online graphic design, Prism! The sunspots add a realistic touch to the image, making it almost as though you were viewing it through a window or a camera lens. I might recommend that the laurel tree be a touch darker; I know that it's intended to be in the background, but it is a principal part of the story, is it not? It almost looks as though the tree wasn't exactly necessary -- just an accessory thrown in to jazz up the the picture. My one other recommendation is that you choose one font for the words "Apollo and Daphne." Maybe it's just me, but I am always, if not confused, a bit taken aback when I look at a poster or flyer and see multiple fonts. I might suggest using the same font for "Apollo," as well as "Daphne," an making he & sign smaller. I mean, Daphne is surely a more important character in the story than the & sign, so why have that be bigger than the woman's name? Again, I applaud your artistic talent in terms of shading and detail, and don't hesitate to disregard my advice completely.
That's a great piece of art! Having used Photoshop, I know how long it would take for this. Now,let me be quick with this review.
Pros: The tree - Very well done The grass - Good, though I wish , you had put in a wee bit of a different shade of green and maybe a few different sizes. The eyes. The hair and his beard.
Now, Cons: The leafy wreath thing : Now, I would suggest you to make that in a higher layer, and add a hint of drop shadow. The ear: Should be more shaped. (Hope you get what I mean.) The cloth (?) he's wearing : Well, you could add a few blurry splotches of darker colours to show some folds and texture. Go experiment. And, as Juni said, the arm could do with some work.
If you need me to elaborate on anything, do hesitate to PM me dear. This is a very good piece of work.
Keep photoshopping/illustratinng!
