This is an interesting photo. Was there any manipulation of it? The colors are very strong and stand out. The on thing I can say is that the background is very busy. This is drawing away from the center point of your rose in the middle. Especially with all the leaves on the right side of the image. They have a similar color tone to the rose and its stem so it kinda pulls my eye that way as opposed to up and down the main image.

It is a very pretty picture non the less. You have an eye for color, I would just say work on compositions of the image now.

I feel bad. This sounds like such a lovely photo, and I can't see it! :( Is this just me? Will review when/if it comes back.

I can't see it either...

Hello Eliza! (lovely name by the way!)

This photograph is not very good, sadly :(

It looks like a lovely rose but the way you've took it, the angle, and the pixels are all poor quality.

Firstly, the picture is fuzzy and... 'bitty'. This automatically makes the picture look worst, as well as the viewer not being able to view the full aspect of the photo, nor the vibrancy of the colours. To fix this, you need a more steady hand as well as better quality camera. What pixel/zoom is your camera, I might be rude by saying, if its not to-a high grade camera. :P

Secondly, the background is absoloutley terrible. The green is nasty and dull and draws the attention away from the rose which is the obvious point of attention in this photograph.

Lastly and most daunting, is the house/building in the corner. This makes the picture look totally amateur and takes away form the nature feel of the photograph.

I understand that your trying to get the rose in, with a natural background in the back, but try and get the rose in good ration in the picture, as well ttrying different angles, so the light hits the petals making the rose more vibrant on the picture.

Apart from this, I like what your trying to do and for a first photo upload it isn't entirely bad.
Keep on 'snapping' and try to work on what i've brought up!

Hey Eliza,

Interesting picture. :) As Alteran mentioned up there, the leaves on the right pull our eyes further into the photo than your focal point, the flower, needs us to. However, I think that the perfectly lined rose leaves is an interesting touch, and I would stand to say that if you could readjust the frame of this photo to just show that line of leaves, and perhaps defocus them a bit, then you'd have a marvelous piece of work here. :)

I adore the colours. They are so strong and beautiful. The only problem is the busy background - but a very atmospheric picture

Hi!

Yes, what really drew me to this photo was the colour of the rose. It is extremely vibrant and beautiful, which makes the photograph interesting.

However, there are a lot of things detracting from this photo, which is unfortunate. Firstly, the fuzziness of it. The rose would be so much better if it was sharply photographed and not a tiny bit out of focus. The leaves below it are more sharp, and therefore draw our eye away from the main point of your photo.

Also, the background is much too busy. If you can't take this photo again, then I would recommend changing the background slightly on an editing program so it is slightly duller in colour or just draws our eye less. If you can take it again, I would really recommend a different angle that had an alternative background.

Lastly, I feel like the angle you took this from is too boring. It's just a normal angle. Flowers are photographed so frequently that it really takes something special to make it stand out from the crowd. Therefore, if I were you I'd try to find a really fascinating angle to take this from next time.

Hope this helps!

The rose seems to uh, how do I put it... Oh, yeah! It glows in a futuristic UFO way... Sorry for a weird descriptive style, I'm like that. Er. The quality could have been improved and the angle was like making the focal point smack dab in the middle. If you angled it, it would make a nice effect.

Hello there!

I'm assuming you wanted your focal point to be the flower, eh? Indeed, the flower is quite beautiful--the colors are so majestic and beautiful. However, the background is much too busy for my eyes to stay focused on the flower. Also, the quality of the picture is very poor do to the fuzzy-like look it gives off. Also, you did not focus on the flower, which makes me very sad.
This is nice, though. Keep at it.

Hey! Here to review now that the picture has shown up. (Sorry about being a bit late, too.)

Yes, the colors are so pretty together. I kinda like the grainy quality that this picture has, actually, in a way. But I get the feeling that you didn't give this photo this quality on purpose, since the rose is too out of focus/a bit too blurry.
As the others said, make sure that our eyes are drawn specifically to the rose, and not the background leaves, etc.
Also, it would be nice if you took this photo at angle so we could see more of the inside of the rose.

Hope I helped! Keep on taking pictures-

KD
