Twenty Two More Feet Up
Twenty two more feet up,
Is the top of the world,
The mountain peaks and misty clouds,
The pinks and yellows of the rising sun,
The mysterious shadows of the pale moon,
Or the dark blanket of night.
The harsh wind would hug your face,
The fragrance of the wildflowers be welcomed by your nose,
The sound of birds and trickling water would enter your yearning ears,
And if the threat of rain was near you would know.
You would realize you were standing on the top of the world,
Held back only by the earth under your feet,
You would realize you stood on a small and insignificant mountain,
But one that would forever change the way you saw the world.
All you need to do,
Is walk twenty two more feet up.
