Position: (Mage/ bard/ fighter/ healer/ old man etc) healer
Reason for joining: (Why do they seek the fountain of youth?) Adventure, lol
Appearance:
Spoiler
Image

Personality: She is very caring, kind but keeps to herself. She is more of the suffer in silence type. If you can get her to open up she is really fun and bubbly.
History: She doesn't know much about herself. When she was 13 she woke up, lost and alone in the woods, with amnesia. She stumbled upon some healers who took her in and raised her like their own. They have taught her all she's knows, but she thinks her life is lacking in adventure.
Other: Up for love, likes older guys.

Name: Charles (Charlie) Devoutri

Age: 21

Position: Map holder. You said you need one, so yeah.

Reason for joining: Basically, he's got nothing better to do. He obtained a map and later discovered what it was. Once he did discover what it was, he told some people. They then told more people, then those people told more people e.t.c. When a group of people came up to him, asking him if he'd be willing to look for the fountain, he thought, why not? He also likes the thought of staying young forever so it's a win win situation, even though he isn't sure whether he believes in the fountain, he's willing to give it a shot.

Appearance: Charlie has messy dark brown hair with matching coloured stubble and light, hazel coloured eyes. He's not extremely tall, but he's not short either and his skin is slightly tanned. He looks kind of like this; (Minus the modern clothes, obviously.) 8)
Spoiler
Image

Personality: Charlie comes across as a happy, completely carefree guy. He's up for anything and isn't afraid of much. To most people, he is confident and outgoing. Although really, he doesn't have much confidence in himself at all. Charlie doesn't think that he's very good at much, he thinks that he's pretty useless really. No one else knows about how he feels about himself though, he doesn't tell a soul about his true feelings. As far as everyone else is aware, he doesn't have a care in the world.

History: Charlie grew up in a rather strange family. He wasn't overly rich, but he wasn't terribly poor either. His father, quite literally, doesn't speak much. His mother, on the other hand, is obsessed with the supernatural and is really ecstatic. He has a younger sister who his parents adore. Charlie doesn't get half of the amount of attention that his sister does.

As for the map, Charlie was with his mother one day in the forest. His mother asked him to come along to help her with some kind of ritual. During the ritual, something overly strange happened. While Charlie's mother was in the middle of the ritual, he began feeling faint. The next thing he remembered was waking up next to a, literally, blue watered river. That was where he found the map. It was simply lying next to a rock on the river side. It took him a day to find his way back to his home and since then, he has never been to the river again because he simply cannot find it.

Other: Up for love. Charlie is actually pretty bad at reading the map, it's not as easy to understand as some of the other maps he's used.

Who's going to be healed?! I'll heal you all like a fox! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
This reminds me so much of dungeons and dragons, thanks for making this.
All I can hear; "I me mine, I me mine, I me mine". Even those tears; "I me mine, I me mine, I me mine". No one's frightened of playing it. Everyone's saying it. Flowing more freely than wine. All through your life; "I me mine".

I'm sure we'll have some injuries and the old people could always do with a strength boost. I love Dungeons & Dragons! :)

And the starting post :)

Alistair

Word was going round that we'd set off in an hour which was fine by me. It seemed like the party was plenty big enough already anyway. Surprisingly big. Stupidly big. Did all these fools think we'd find a fountain of youth? Hah! We also had enough horses to drink a fountain dry which was more important to me. I wasn't about to let my own steed be used as a carry pony, oh no. He needed to be ripe and ready for battle so that any bandits on the trail would take one look and decide to stay in the bushes until we'd gone by. Don't fight when you don't have to and all that philisophical crap.

I mounted up and trotted my horse over to the front of the procession where Charlie was standing with his map. Not going over last minute plans or checking provisions, oh no! Just standing there with his map. It was a good thing the people of Dalriada knew how to prepare for a good bit of questing. I'd give them that at least.

"Ready to go then eh?" I gave him a quizzical look and started checking all my buckles, tightening a few and slackening others off. Charlie looked up with an easy grin and nodded.

"I should think so, why not. How do we go about this starting business then?" I craned my neck to see how ready the others were. Most were sitting in their wagons, horses already teamed up and waiting expectantly. A couple of stragglers weren't quite there but they'd have plenty of time while the first wave were pulling out of the city gates.

"Shouting should do the trick," I said with a shrug. And walking. Like he needed to do anything more than that. When the guy with the map starts walking, you get following or you're left behind.

Isolda Dye

Her church told her to carry only enough to get by for a slight period of time. The gods would give her everything she needed if she did not show greed. Hung over her shoulder was a pack. It carried enough food to last three weeks if she ate the minimum that a human could for each day, as well as a blanket to sleep either on or under, and a few pieces of parchment and a stick of lead. Around her neck was a small pouch of herbs, this was supposed to ward off negative forces, who knew how well it would work?

Hung over her other shoulder were three large canisters of water, this would last her a week if she again used the minimum amount, but with the size of the party she may have to give it to others.

Looking over the crowd of people that all were looking for the fountain she felt a bit nervous. What if she were to fail in healing the injured, what if no one stopped to give those who fell a proper burning? She frowned. Her eyes snagged on a lovely steed, it looked battle worthy. She bit her lower lip. He looked like a warrior, the person she would have to heal the most.

She didn't want to approach the warrior. She was much too worried about failing him to talk to him without sobbing and begging for his forgiveness in advance. Opening her pack, she pulled out a sheet of parchment and the lead. She wrote on it a note for the warrior, she had heard others refer to him as Alistair. Without saying a word she took it over to him and handed it to him. He seemed a tad bit confused, but took it anyways.

The note read; “Sir, I have been assigned to this group by my church. I'm dreadfully nervous about this, for I fear I will fail. I've prayed for the safety of everyone else, but you're a warrior, and I must ask you for permission before I pray for you. In addition if you have any injuries I would like to know of them in advance so that I might take care of them before we set out.
Please forgive this note, I'm too nervous to speak these words aloud.”
All I can hear; "I me mine, I me mine, I me mine". Even those tears; "I me mine, I me mine, I me mine". No one's frightened of playing it. Everyone's saying it. Flowing more freely than wine. All through your life; "I me mine".

Finally! We were leaving and i was ecstatic! I had been raised by healers my whole, remembered, life. They never did anything exciting. I was so happy when Charles said i could come along. It's not like i needed the fountain. I was only sixteen. I smiled, my adoptive parents had been so worried, "a newly single teenage girl alone on the road. Does that sound safe to you?" They has said that so many times. They were pleased i was single, they never approved of my boyfriends, cause they were always older then me. Usually by at least five years, sometimes older.

I was all jumpy and happy sitting on the wagon. The priestess and the hired sword walked by as the wagon started moving. I smiled at them, she seemed shy. I don't blame her, i was a bit nervous. I didn't know anyone here, i hardly knew Charles. But i was to excited to get moving to care. I smiled at Charles, who was sitting beside me.

Charles

I observed the group of people in front of me. I wouldn't tell them this, but each one of them looked like they had much more of an idea of what they were doing. Sighing heavily, I turned the map. It still made no sense. Maybe this was a bad idea...

I looked back up at Alistair. I knew for a fact that he would be better than me at this. I mean, he was quite a few years older than me and he seemed to know what he was doing.

"I should think so, why not?" I answered his question. "How do we go about this starting business then?"

"Shouting should do the trick," He shrugged.

Fair enough. I turned my attention back to the group. Alistair was now talking to one of the girls, Isolda, I think her name was. They didn't actually seem to be saying anything though... weird. Everyone seemed to be talking amongst themselves. I raised my my fingers to my mouth before letting out an ear shattering whistle.

"Hey!" I called as everyone turned to me. "Is everyone ready?"

It didn't take long for everyone to start nodding and saying the word, yes. The only question was, was I ready? Not really, but oh well. I'd be fine. Besides. there was bound to be someone here who would be able to read the map properly.

Minutes later, everyone was preparing to leave. If only I knew where we were going...
I didn't know what to put here so I put this.

*Sorry about the delay!* **EDIT: Oops, didn't see the other healer. Changing my position then. :smt001 **

Name: Necho Carter

Age: 29

Position: Mage - Specializing in defensive magicks (shields, charms, repels, etc)

Reason for joining: Necho wants to collect some of the water from the Fountain to bring back to his dying sister, who is too weak to make the journey herself.

Appearance: Necho has dark brown, shaggy hair with one long piece usually wrapped halfway. His eyes are a stormy blue-gray and he has a scholarly look about him. His build is slim as he's not very muscular, and he stands approximately six feet tall. His skin is lightly tanned, hinting that he doesn't spend much time in the sun.

Personality: When he is not concentrating solely on one object, action, or goal, Necho can be spurred into small bouts of fiery anger. However, he tries his best to keep his emotions under check and often appears as kind and easy-going, if a bit distant. He has a rather good outlook on life, he likes to think.

History: Necho suffered a heavy blow two months ago, when his younger sister - the last of his surviving family members - contracted an illness that is unable to be cured. His parents were killed several years before in a raid of their small town, and Necho took it upon himself to continue to provide for him and his sister, Isabel. Ever since she got sick, he has been searching for the Fountain of Youth after hearing of it's supposed magical properties, but has never had the money for such a travel. When he learned of the group setting out to search for it, he scraped together all the money he could and joined them, promising Isabel that he would bring her back a cure.

Other: Has minor archery skills and knows the basics on how to wield a dagger. He also knows very basic healing magic - a rudimentary skill to every mage trained in defensive magic - but normally leaves that to the professionals. He is up for love, just ask first please.

Jorin

Jorin guided Master Garrett's cart into the dusty gathering grounds for the questing party. Jorin cast his gaze around the area suspiciously before turning to Garrett.

"Can you watch the horses for a moment?" Jorin asked seriously. "I'll only be gone for a moment. I want to look around."

Garrett glared at Jorin briefly. "I am perfectly capable of handling the horses, Jorin. Don't treat me like an invalid."

Jorin smiled grimly, and guided the cart over to a shady spot under an old oak tree. "Wait here," said Jorin, jumping out of the driver's seat. He watched as Garrett climbed into Jorin's place before cautiously slipping deeper into the gathering. Jorin wanted to get an idea of the people in the expedition.

Jorin walked into what was obviously the center of the party. Jorin saw who he assumed was the head of the expedition, staring bemusedly at a map in his hands. Jorin shuddered, and made note to steal a glance at the map for himself later on. There was too much at stake for Jorin to follow a fool's lead.

Jorin's gaze slipped to a bulky man next to the leader. Jorin stiffened. The man had the look of a mercenary. Jorin tugged his hood over his head cautiously. The man looked like a seasoned warrior; there was a very good chance Jorin had faced the man before. Jorin stared at him intently for a moment, looking for any birthmarks or signs that would tell Jorin who the man was.

Almost as if he sensed Jorin's stares, the man turned toward Jorin. Jorin tugged his hood further down his face and slipped out of the mercenary's sight. Jorin knew him. Alistair Bennett. Back in the city, Bennett had been one of the most popular hired swords among the wealthy merchants of the city. Jorin knew his name well. Bennett had broken Jorin's nose, once.

Jorin passed a hand over his face, breathing slowly. Jorin would need to stay hidden. Bennett was far too moral to allow a criminal in the expedition.

A loud, shattering whistle rang through the air. Jorin turned and surreptitiously glanced toward the party center again.

"Is everyone ready?" called the leader. Jorin saw the party members picking up their belongings. Jorin's stomach sank as he met Bennett's eyes. Jorin darted away toward where Master Garrett's cart lay waiting. Jorin jumped into the driver's bench beside Garrett.

"They're leaving," said Jorin quickly, urging the horses forward. "Let's go,"

"Is everything all right, Jorin?" Garrett asked, concerned. Jorin glanced at the man guiltily.

"Nothing," Jorin replied. "Everything is fine."

**Hope this is okay with you, Kitty.

The mass of people started moving and the undercurrent of voices grew louder. We were finally starting.

I stood up with a stretch and glanced around the motley crew. Our leader certainly looked like the sort of man who knew what he was about.

Well, there'll be at least one capable person with us when we're set upon by robbers, I thought idly. I fiddled with the bow slung across my shoulders, wondering when I'd be called upon to actually use my archery skills.

As a serf, I had been trained in general shooting, for the day when I'd have to go out as a man-at-arms to fight for my king. Since I liked to be one step above the rest, I had accelerated my lessons and was a pretty mean shot. But I had never had opportunity to test my skill. That would soon change, I was sure.

I snapped back to attention as the map-reader, who was apparently named Charles, led the way. He seemed extremely nervous, and none too sure of himself.

I really hope he knows what he's doing, I thought with a sigh. But then again, it's not like I've got anything better to do.

I swung up onto my horse, Chester--a pitiful plow nag, but he was all I had--and started off at a leisurely pace. It wasn't like we were moving very fast, anyways.

Valentine

So here they were off to find what could give him the eyes to see Kirstin flowers, her lovely Roses she spoke about being so gorgeous. He looked around nervously, the many sights and people. Could he really get what he wished?

There were warriors, a priest and so much more. He was a giving person by nature, but he couldn’t lose chance to see without feeling like he was missing anything. Sepia tones without lush greens he frolicked through as a kid, or the red’s of warriors wounded. It felt like something was missing from him.

But at least he could offer his expertise, maybe then people would see his plight. He couldn’t give this away. Murmuring a small spell he hid the party as they entered the woods.

They would never know what he had done. But the party would have a chance now.
But, looking around his heart ached he wanted to see so badly, but the weak, infirm and overall paralyzed had come. He had to be selfish, had to see the wonderful colours again. If only to escape this sepia existence.

Someone tapped him on the back and he swung round, staff lit up, “Excuse me, but did you just cast a spell?”

MELODY

"Excuse me did you just cast a spell?" I asked the guy. I think i spooked him a bit.
"Maybe why?" he said, lowering his staff.
"Just curious, it must be cool to be a mage."
He nodded. "ya, i guess it is."
I sighed looking at the path ahead of me. "How I've longed for something exciting. Living with over-protective healers isn't very exciting." I looked back up at him.
"Your parents are healers? I think that sounds interesting." He smiled. I frowned, looking ahead of the path.
"They aren't my parents, i got lost and caught amnesia when i was thirteen. I couldn't even remember my name. So they had to rename me."
"So what is it?" I looked up, confused. "your name?" He gestured at me.
"Oh, Melody, and yours?" I smiled up at him.
"Valentine. So tell me a bit about yourself."
"Well... I'm sixteen, single, a healer, my favorite color is white, and i love animals. Now your turn." I smiled up at him.
