Hi, KAH. Okay, so, these are nice. Not brilliant or anything. I do rather like the first one though. There's something about it that just makes me fall in love with the picture. So, nice job. The second one...not so much. The bird looks very odd to me, especially the beak. It's very odd looking. However, very nice. Keep practicing. -Mizz

#1: This one is okay. The bird is good; nice colors. I like the outline idea you got there! But the biggest problem with this piece, is that the background coloring job isn't so hot. Especially that dark green area on the right of the picture; it seems so sloppy. It sticks out like a sore thumb!
#2: I like this one much better since your work is less sloppy, and much more clean! I love the adorable flowers on the tree. The bird isn't as good, but I love the contrast between the bird's blue color and the flowers' pink color (make the flowers a bit darker, because they blend into the background), and the tiny yellow strokes around the bird's eye. Your outline on the bird, though, seemed to lose itself on the bird's breastish/stomach area, if you know what I mean. Fix that and the bird will look lovely!
Hope I helped! Good job. Overall, I agree with Mizzle. Keep on drawing-
Well I definitely like the first one best, KAH. But, as you said, neither picture is probably your best. Still, that doesn’t mean that you can’t learn, grow, and become better.
My biggest issue with the first picture is the background actually. There’s that big splotch of dark green in the top right and area, like you started shading darkly, and then changed your mind. I can’t completely stop looking at it. The same goes for the super dark green around the bird. I don’t understand that part, like, at all. Another issue I had was that the bird doesn’t really seem to have feet.
But I do like the choice of colours a lot and the actual shape is really cool. Plus, it definitely feels very sweet and spring-like with these colours.
The background on the second one isn’t really the greatest either –no offence – but for me, I think it mostly is because of the tree branch which is really big and thickly outlined that it distracts from the bird. The flowers also seem very rough and kind of slackly done. You’ve got to remember to put the most effort into each inch of your page. And the beak of the bluebird seems very oddly done, like, in the way that it’s attached to his face seems odd.
I think using marker might have been my reason for disliking this. It just makes everything seem very bulky and heavily done. I don’t mean this offensively, but I couldn’t find much of a positive to this second picture.
Still, if you have any questions or anything to say, PM me and keep it up.

Hey, Katherine! (Hope you don't mind me calling you that )
First Bird:
1. I like the way you drew the plants on this one, and the colouring for them. It looks really nice and the colours were very well picked.
2. You did well on the actual art of the bird, and I also like the different blues as well as red you used on it for the colouring, except I don't really like the green outline it has, it makes it look like a bird from space or something, to be honest.
3. When it comes to realistically, I doubt the bird would be able to perch on something so small without it breaking. But I think it would work better if the branch/twig was sagging a little bit, because that would look much more realistic.
Second Bird:
1. The colouring on the bird and branch is really nice, though I honestly think it would have looked a bit better with a background colour like the former picture did.
2. When it comes to the realisticness of the bird, I think the beak is a little too big and you see too much of it, because the angle the bird is facing. Also, the tail looks pretty good except the two sections should be slightly closer together when it comes to the distance diagonally/up-down.

Overall, I really like these and I wouldn't have been able to do that good, haha. Keep up the great work, and let me know if you need anything.
