Okey-dokey. This isn't bad, but it needs a lot of improvement.
You've got some interesting lines going on there for the leaves! Very interesting idea! To improve the leaves, perhaps add different colors and shades in there. Same with the trunk of the tree. Maybe you can exaggerate the squiggily trunk shape a little more? Another way to improve it would be by adding texture to the tree trunk, to make it more interesting.
There's so much more you can do with this tree, to make it even more interesting, as I said, and more original. Hope I helped!
As KD said, this could do with a lot of improvement. The strokes for the trunk and the background are the sane. I would suggest texturing the tree trunk. The leaves are interesting, but you could fan them out more, form them into a more tree-like shape.

1. The trunk of the tree. It's kind of squiggly looking and it looks like a giant rubber or plastic flimsy tree then. Trees are pretty straight, or have a couple curves, but not like that.
2. The leaves. The shape of/way you drew the lines was alright, except most trees won't have them going upward in that diagonal angle, unless it was pruned. Otherwise there would be more shag and unevenness.
Just doing those would be good improvements, and from there you could just fix some details. Good luck! =]
