Another thing that I wrote because I was bored. Again, there is no chapter before or after it. I just kind of started in the middle of a story. Because I was bored. A little bit longer than my last writing piece, but tell me what you think.

The trees creaked and moaned in the wind. I sat down on the frigid ground, looking at the lush forest around me. During the day, it was an outdoors man's dream. During the night, though, it was the perfect place to call up long deceased spirits and spectres. I lit five candles that stretched in a full 360 degrees around me and crossed my legs in the meditating posture. I closed my eyes and listened. I listened to the chirps of the night bugs, the sound of the swaying trees, the noise the wind made as it swept peacefully through the bushes and leaves.
I started chanting, calling up spirits. I didn’t open my eyes. I just kept saying the same words over and over until I felt the spirit. Only then did I open my eyes. I couldn’t see the ghost, but I could feel it. I looked around. If I couldn’t see it, it meant that it was resisting being pulled forth. Which meant it had something to hide.
“In the name of all gods and goddesses, and in the power I wield, I call you, departed soul, come to me!” I continued to look around. The candles flickered as the winds grew. I could feel the spirit better now, meaning I had pulled it a little further to our world. One more good pull and it should have to come with no choice. I closed my eyes again.
“In the name of all gods and goddesses, and in the power I wield, I demand you, departed soul, come to me!” The wind picked up immediately and caused me to almost fall over. All the candles went out as I opened my eyes, leaving me in the dark. In the middle of a forest at night. I stood up and turned in a slow circle, looking. I knew it was there somewhere.
A flicker of movement to my left. I turned quickly, but it had already darted out of sight. I pulled my match book out of my pocket and tried to light the candles again for some light, but the wind was still howling and the candles went out immediately.
Laughter echoed through the forest. I turned to where the sound had come from...and was kicked from behind. I fell flat on my face, then pushed myself into a sitting position and looked up. A ghost flickered in and out of focus before me. He looked about twenty years old, and he held a manic grin. I picked myself up into a crouched position, grabbing at a necklace that hung around me neck.
“Ea am potareia a de ta controlvei. Ascalva-ma. Spertui-ma.” I have the power to control you. Listen to me. Obey me.
The thing opened its mouth and let out a bellow of laughter. It raised its hand, and the wind suddenly grew and knocked me over. I rolled over, gasping for air and holding my side. The thing followed me, its smile never leaving its face.
“Ie nemell tutortu zeiiler si zeiiltar, si ie peltaria em suusci, em cercera pa clare la ascultii le meen si ascultii-ma. Aceasta estab o cercera.” In the name of all gods and goddesses, and in the power I wield, I demand that you listen to me and obey me. That is a demand.
Again, it laughed and hit me with another blow of wind. I rolled several feet before stopping, scratched and cut in several places. I cried out in pain. How does it keep from listening to me? I asked myself, watching as it approached me. Realizing I had brought forth a spirit much more powerful than myself, I quickly hissed, “By the power I wield, I release you, departed soul.” It didn’t disappear like I had hoped. It simply stumbled back a step, then continued coming back to me. I began trying to talk to it again.
“Eu ta-am elibarta, spiritual, a rever-“
“Do not speak the ancient tongue with me, child.” It hissed in simple English.
“Tell me what you know about the uprising.”
It laughed, and hit me with another wave of wind. I collected quite a few more scratches. “Why would I do that? Why would I tell a small, naive child the secrets of the Otherworld?”
Wind, more powerful than I knew possible without a tornado, picked me up and smashed me against a tree. The spirit followed me to where I now lay on the ground. I moaned in pain and held my lower back.
“Next time, prostst cholid, think before summoning someone much greater than yourself.”
My anger only grew as he called me the ancient words for “stupid child.” I stood up against him, and was hit off my feet right away.
“I am done with you, child. Now that I am free, I have other manners to attend to. Multemascc si le revereda, prostst cholid.” Thank you and goodbye, stupid child.
I closed my eyes as the winds rushed around me before disappearing upwards. I sat for a minute with my eyes closed before daring to open them. I was alone in the small clearing, my candles all knocked over, smashed, and completely useless. Branches of trees had come off during the intense winds and now lay scattered about. I pulled my knees in and started removing my slivers, not sure how I was going to get home.
A howl in the distance broke the silence.
