Hallo there :smt003

I was looking around for inspiration, and saw 'The Book Thief'. (It's a great book, read it if you haven't already!) So I drew the front cover...This is the one I copied.

Hope you like it, and please review! (On another note, if anyone would like me to draw their character then please PM me and I'll see if I have time... I've been really lacking in inspiration lately and could do with something to draw :smt003 )

Well, this is out of my range of expertise, but I liked the drawing anyway. I think it was well done, when one compares it to the original cover. I'm curious, however: did you draw the feet? There is a sort of morbid/whimsical element in the original–death and the girl look as if they are strolling or skipping along. Just wondering.

–thanks for sharing this with us. See you around.

Sabbatical isn't the right word, but it almost is.

Hello!

That's by Marcus Zusak, right? I loved that book.
Okay, now my comments:

1. The girl's face could be worked upon. It needs to be more expressive and a bit more detailed.
2. The hands and and fingers of Death need to be more skeletal and bony.

Keep drawing.
Cheers,

This is very good.

The figures in this picture are very whimsical looking. There look fairy tale like. The little girl and the ugly hag are a figure I have seen a lot before. They also remind me of Disney animations. The drawing Itself is very good, and you have very good attention to detail. I would encourage you to add some colour to this also. It looks a bit like a cover to a children's story, I would like to know what the picture means and what the story behind it is.

I like it alot. But I do agree with the reviewers above me. I'll actually read the book because of your drawing! Keep on drawing!

Thank you for your comments! :smt060

@antimelrose: Yes, i did draw the feet :smt003 If you scroll down on the full picture you will see them. (They aren't on the close-ups because I wanted to show more detail on the faces)

Omg this book is incredibly awesome! Loved it! Except I didn't get it with a cover like that it was dominoes.
I gotta say this drawing is pretty good. I like it *two thumbs up*. And I agree color would add depth into this picture.
... What do you mean by draw their character?

Erm, if someone sent me a description of their character, I'd draw it and scan it in for them to see. So, if someone wasn't great at drawing but still wanted an image of what the character looks like... :smt003
