LastPaladin Photos!

Here's some of my photos finally, talked about it enough in chatroom, so finally you can see them. I'm using a Canon EOS Rebel T1i, with 15.10 MegaPixels. I take pictures mostly of people, but in actual fact prefer scenry, especially using the light, whether moonlight, street lights or sunlight.


Took this one last night, and it's by far the most perfect picture I've ever taken.


Left home early last night, round about Half 8 and so Sun was still high in sky. I quite like this one alot.


Same location prefer this more though!

These are some great photos. I like how you incorporate the sun into each one. You can really tell that you thought hard about how the sun would effect each picture. These turned out amazing! I like the last one, because the sun kinda makes an outline on the clouds. It makes it look stunning! Keep taking those pictures!

Here as requested!

Picture #1: I love the colors in this picture, but there are lots of different things happening in this picture. First, there's the sun (lovely, by the way), then you have the bird flying over the water (I would have never been able to capture that), and then you have that thing floating in the water (sorry, I couldn't figure out what it was). I think your picture would be much more dramatic if you focused on one of these three things, instead of having the viewer's focus all over the place.

Picture #2: I like the angle that you took this picture in. My only complaint would be to tone down the brightness of the sun a little bit. The house is beautiful and I like how the road kind of curves towards it.

Picture #3: The sun kind of washes out the left part of your picture, but I absolutely love how the sun looks on the trees in the upper right corner. You should definitely play up the right part of your picture. It has that enchanted forest look.

Picture #4: Beautiful sunset indeed! No complaints here except maybe deepening the color of the sky if you can. I'm not sure if you can do that in photo editing; I've never tried it before.

Picture #5: The left side of this picture is amazing! The color of the sky is perfect and dramatic and just wonderful. My only suggestion here would be to cut out the part of the picture that has the telephone poles in it.

That's it! You did a great job overall and keep on taking pictures! You have a great eye.

Just to admit, I've not edited any of these pictures, these were how they are off the camera. I'm not a fan of editing too much as it can easily mess up completly, so just only do it, when it seems absolutely necessary.

Hello there, Last!

I may not give the best review but I hope I help something.

1st Photo: I really love it! I like the sunrise thing-y which totally complements well with the ocean. And that bird, it's great how you took it so fast!

2nd and 3rd photo: Well, I should say... too much lighting. It really stands out the natural view and your focal shot to the sun really irritates my eyes. But I like the idea behind those two photos.

4th photo: I really like this. Now this is what I'm talking about the average and right lighting when you took this photo with the sun. Really nice.

5th photo: That's really a picturesque shot! I love the sun setting down and the clouds covering it, that darkens its color to dark grey. Also, the reflection of the sun against the water, I really like it.

Overall, I really love your photos. the only thing that bothers me is the lighting. But anyway, you can improve well and lastly, you have some skills!

Not editing is cool, but if you aren't going to edit, you need to watch the lighting (as yurriko said) and your subjects. You did do a good job, though. And I can't get over the picture with the bird in it. I'm still waiting for the day when I can capture something like that in a picture.

Basically, the picture was originally of sunset then when I went to take photo the seagull flew across, it was such a one in a million shot, if I waited even a bit, would have missed it. That's why so proud of it.

WOW. i really like these! especially the second one! I see you like suns? anyway, i can't really say much about these. just that they're so good! the third one is my least favourite though because the light is just too bright compared with the trees. My favourites are the last two though, the reds and oranges just look beautiful... and the reflection of the light on the water is just... just... amazing! No other word for it.

I think the last two are my favorites. The first of the last because of the way the light looks on the water and how the edges of the sun aren't very definite, the second because of how the sun is just tucked away behind the clouds and the coloring of the sky and how the entire pic looked rather hazy... it was really nice.

These pictures were absolutely gorgeous. I love how you incorporated the sunlight into each one, and how they were all of nature, but have a modern effect of society in them as well.

Like the one with the sunlight beaming on the street, but with a house and road in the shot as well. I adored the first one, over the lake with the Buoy and the seagull (I think that's what the bird was)

Not bad at all. The photos are so calming and refreshing. I like the sunset better...well, maybe its because I think sunsets are just so phenomenal. You are also quite the photographer. Some of the pics were as if I was looking at a brochure for some holiday resort or vacation hot spot, you know. Loved them. Great job.

Hello! I know I'm out of my league on this one, but I'll try my best:

All four photos were nice, but the last one was a real stand–out and my favorite. The rest, though perfectly fine, seemed to fall into the category of generic sunset/nature photos. So okay, but I've definitely seen the like in Nat. Geographic, so.... yes, the last one was amazing. I think the crisp, burning look of the clouds and the sun were really nice, and there was an effective contrast between light and dark.

Hey Last Paladin!

I felt like tackling some photographs, so here I am.

Photo 1 - If I had to choose I would say that this is my favourite of the four. The sun kind of works best here and gives you good silhouettes and good colour and what not. However something about your lines aren't really working. When I look at really good photography I can usually feel the lines in the photo directing my eye around the photo so that I take it all in and I just don't think that is happening here. Something just seems slightly off and doesn't sit well with my eye. I think it may be because you are trying to add too many elements in and by doing this you are compromising the lines. For example, that buoy in the sea. You have tried to get this in so you have tilted the frame down but in doing this you have you have somewhat ruined the proportions between the sky, land and see. Personally I think this shot would have been better in portrait because I find photos with this many elements usually work better in portrait because you can fit more in and make the lines work better for you. Of course the natural instinct when photographing sunsets is to go landscape but sometimes you need to think outside of the norm. All in all I would say that it is a pretty photo but not outstanding, it kind of feels more like a snap than a photograph and the lines feel a little off. So I would think about that next time, about leading the viewers eye through the photograph.

Photo 2 - Here again I think the lines and proportions are off. However I think going portrait would have been good, had you gotten the proportions right. I feel frustrated because you missed out on a perfect opportunity to create this amazing line through the photo to lead the eye. The road, had you moved further down with the photo so you had less tree and more road, you would have had this amazing line pulling you into and through the photo and creating this amazing line but you have cut the road off somewhat. Like I said I think there is too much tree at the top of the frame. I understand that you might have been trying to focus more on the sun than on anything else in the photo but I think that by doing this you have again compromised the lines in the photo. Yes you need to think about a focus in the photo and what your main focus is in the photo but you also need to think about how you are going to present this subject to the viewer and how you are going to frame the subject with what you have within the frame. And yes I think there is a little bit too much sun flare. Sometimes you can get away with sun flare in a photo but I think it is just a little too overpowering in this photo and distracting. Again you just need to think about lines and compositions because with a few adjustments this could have been a much better photo.

Photo 3 - My feelings on this photo are similar to photo number 2. You have missed out again on using the road as a perfect line through the photo. It could have lead the eye through the photo because that is not happening in this photo. There isn't much of a real focus here, in the photo before you concentrated a little too much on a subject and compromised the composition, here it feels like you didn't really know what you were photographing. Whether it was the trees, the light through the trees or the sun so I think a better idea of what your subject was would have worked here. At the moment I am not sure what I am supposed to be looking at and there is no real composition going on here. What I would say is that the sun flare in this photo is working alot better than the last one. It is, as such, not making an actual flare but rather making this nice kind of burst. It's just a shame that the rest of the photo isn't helping to accentuate this a little more.

Photo 4 - I like this one a little better than the last two and I like that you have used portrait to try and capture the sunset. However I think again you have got the proportions wrong. I understand that you were probably trying to capture the full extent of the glimmer of the sun in the sea but I think you did it a little too much here. You have made the proportion between the land, sky and sea quite off. There is just too much sea here I think. It's difficult to explain how you know when you have the composition and proportion right, as a photographer you tend to know when it's right and when it isn't.

Photo 5 - This photo seems a little dull. I like the sun in it and the colour of the sun and how the light of the sun picks out the edges of cloud. However that big block of cloud is creating a very weird line across the photo that leads the eye up and away from the sun and so disrupts the photo. I also think it's not very good compositionally to have the big hill just where the sunset is because it kind of creates too much over on the left side of the photo and makes the right side of the photo seem somewhat empty. It might have been nice had you positioned yourself so that the sun came more on the left side of the frame and you also could have cut out the distracting cloud formation. Also, this might not be your fault but the landscapes, the photo seems kind of slanted in a way.

Overall - I would say that you need to work on your composition and training your eye to notice those lines that will frame your subject and lead the viewers eye through the photo. I also think that alot of these are more like 'I was here' snaps rather than photographs so just keep in mind to try and not make them like holiday snaps if you are going to consider them photography. So I would just say that you need to keep going out and photographing and experiment and see what works and what doesn't. So keep it up!
