A Fiery Landscape

The result of an art class project, where we looked through some fine art cards, picked the one we liked best, and then replicated it...all in one color, or one group of colors. I chose reds. Painted in acrylics.

I wish I could recall the title and artist of the piece this is based on, but I cannot (if you know, please tell me, as I would like to give proper credit!). The colors are completely different, of course, and I used a pointillism-ish technique, but the composition is pretty much the same as the original.

I'd really appreciate any and all feedback, so let me know what you think!

Firstly let me say that I will not evaluate this submission from a literary point of view as there is little to no text. As an avid artist, I will evaluate this piece as composed of oil paint, using a large to medium sized straw-coloured brush. I enjoy the leaves on the trees and the colour of the sky. The ground however, also echoes the colours of the sky and trees, leading me to conclude that a) you were trying to conserve paint or b)you were just following the design on the fine art card selected. Overall I would give it a solid three out of five only because of some "white" still visible throughout the sky and on the farm house in the background.

I might be a little biased because red is my favorite color, but I really like this. It kind of looks like an autumn picture because of the color. I really all of those trees on the right, the really dark ones and the crooked orange one in front of them. They just seem really realistic to me.

I don't know if it's just because of how small the picture on my computer is or what, but
I can't tell what that is really far in the background, which is pretty much the only thing that bothers me about this. :\

Otherwise, though, it's awesome!

Very cool; I like pointillism, and I like the vibrant colors. This could provide excellent inspiration for a story; I can almost imagine a strange forest where the trees are literally made of fire! Very nicely done; I can't paint very well, so kudos here.

This is very well done. Good job. I have a few nitpicks though.

Blue-If you notice carefully, the bottom portions of the trunk have yellow on them. Well since this tree is standing in front of all others, it shouldn't.
Purple-They're buildings, right? They could do with a bit more of defining strokes.
Black-It seems to be sticking out from nowhere.
Green-I love the dark coloured trees.

Overall: Good job. Keep painting.
