You didn't convey that those were peas and that they were buzzing well enough for people to get the joke. I thought they were sick bubbles or something. Just because something is round and green doesn't mean everyone know's it's a pea.

If you don't get the connection, it doesn't matter. Not everyone thinks the same way, so you have to make sure that different people will get it. You have to make the peas obviously peas and the buzzing obviously buzzing.
