This is the discussion thread for my latest storybook. As many have noticed the plot here is very flexible and if ideas can be displayed here we can easily debate this. To go on there is also fact of what the scenario is. Essentially the distress signal is a mine. This mine is very unusual as it doesn't blow up the ship; instead it first electrifies engine room killing anyone inside, near destroy communications facilities, kills some crew, and finally destroys the light speed engines. As you can see the mine is intelligent and it brings a worrying conclusion who put it there. To put it bluntly, we're not alone. We shall focus on character development for now.
