I found you the day of Halloween,
I brought you home to start our dream.
We had much fun and a lot of luck,
You started to rear but dared not to buck.
We took you to Sherri's to break your habit,
I was upset with you, I had had it.
You came back to you, we started to win.
We showed all around, you were hardly in your pin.
You were everyone's favorite, we took all the pride,
We were going to state, I was sure of your stride.
You went back to Sherri's to learn one more thing.
Things were going great, till I got that phone ring,
That you were down and needed me.
I rushed right up but saw no glee.
You laid in my arms and died peacefully.
I cried and cried, things were not heavenly.
Things are still wrong, it will never be the same.
I still cry over you, we never knew the blame.
I want to pet you one last time,
Or even see one more pick of you in your prime.
I wish you were here, you never knew,
You were the best partner ever Spencer, I love you.
(Spencer was born in 2001 and died in 2009. He was my real all around paint show horse. We won many high points and earned the name of being a true team.)
