Delicate as the eyes
that looked on me with care,
or the hands whose soft touch
assured me you were there.

When I was a young and innocent child
alone and unwise of all the world,
you were there to guide me
as the time went on,as the mysteries unraveled.

You held me close
protected me from everyone.
You were there oh mother!
you did not run.

I am now not a baby in a cradle
yet you care for me still.
You expect nothing from me in return
and you kept no ill will.

The wounds that everyone's harsh words
on my heart and mind had carved
you cleaned them with your soul
you fill them with every moment you loved.

When I watched you pray,
Oh,how serene was your face!
and somehow calmness rushed into me
guiding me to comfort and solace.

When I put my head in your lap
and heard your soothing voice.
When I heard the wonderful words of love,
my heart within rejoiced.

I promise dear mother
not to forget those loving eyes
nor that delicate touch
for now its importance do I realize.

I really liked this poem! And, as an added bonus, it was appropriate to read today since it's mother's day. The whole time I was reading it, I was like, "This describes a mom!"

Is that what you meant the poem to mean, or am I missing something?

So, I didn't find any errors in it, and I had no issues with it. It was just an awesome poem!

Keep writing poetry! You have real talent!

You are really 13? That is some talent. I think this poem totally descirbes a mother as many people view them, with love. This poem basically makes me want to review my own poetry because its better than some people's, who have been writing for decades; that is how greatly written it is. The only problem i have is just a small one. I think for me when i read a poem, I would like to be drawn in all the way until the end. I mean, I can get the message from the poem, but there are some parts where I had to read twice because my mind drifted away, I got lost with the repetition of emotions so to speak. But you have got talent. Good job
The best is what you make it!
